Gameweek Nine saw 256 fantasy managers battle it out in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power. Those involved surely know the outcome of their own fixture, so to see how everyone else faired this round click here.

If reading the results James Alexander Gordon-style isn’t for you, then read on for the round highlights. However, before I get onto listing the key outcomes, I have to bring you some tragic news… I am no longer involved in the competition, after a 51 – 40 robbery against JohnSteed01. A minutes silence will be observed before the round three fixtures.

One Fantasy Manager who might be able to get over that news is The Plutocrat who, after his 74 – 40 annihilation of timboeve (the widest margin of victory in the round), earns himself a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power.

Just missing out on the prize was rajmanutd who, along with chipsngravey (in a very northern outing), was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, as the former prevailed 70 – 59.

At the other end of the spectrum was billyboychrisd‘s 37 – 33 victory over dadoune. Which wasn’t the lowest score jammy enough to win this weekend however, CarlowsGalacticos‘ narrow 36 – 35 ousting of Dino wins that award.

That was one of eleven match-ups decided by a single point, which included greghammer95‘s 53 – 52 win over hello 911 it’s quagmire….

Three fixtures went down to the tie-breaker of overall rank, which saw bossdrum, Chris81 and targa eliminate Clive, Burton and Mattenue respectively.

Contrasting fortunes for our former champions sees donnellyc marching on, thanks to a 40 – 31 victory over ham5ter, and Jonty doing one, as a result of his 55 – 48 loss at the hands of Ann_der_roo.

Granville is now the only contributor to have a berth in the tournament, as he saw off wolves_simmo with ease 50 – 32, with Pure Olivia (46 – 40 Ty_Durden67) and I getting beat.

So now we are down to 128, just 10% of everyone who entered the competition. They will learn of their opponent on Thursday when the third round fixtures (to be played during GW10) will pop up on the site.

Well done to those awaiting that fixture list (not you JohnSteed01), and commiserations to everyone bowing out this time round (some with more grace than others).

By the way if there was anyone needed to be rushed in it's Nasri. He is definitely going up again before Fab. You shold have done a straight swap for Arteta and then waited on the Fab move.

according to what i heard katie the americans use old english, thats where they took their spelling from and it was the english who made changes to their language as time/things moved on. apparently american spelling is more accurate. that was from Suzie Dent herself on Countdown. talk of the devil and all that

    fans vs malouda price rise

I am doing the trending malouda to fans move, but my evil plans could do with an extra 100k. Do you think it's possible that malouda could rise before fabs? If total fpl has it right and fab is protected then I guess it's possible. Anybody outside of fpl towers know the answer? If only we stil had Paul the octopus!

Just taken this from the last page...

Do you think Bosingwa’s position at right back is under threat this week? Might he play Ferreira? And if not, is Alex due back soon? In which case, Ivanovic might go RB…

Also not convinced anymore that Coleman will start every game. Unless anyone else can tell me otherwise?

Basically the reason behind this discussion is that I need FABREGAS and I’m thinking I will be dropping Malouda for him. I therefore need to drop EVRA for someone less than 6million. Alternative is to drop Chamakh for someone like Hernandez (6.9 or under) but that would be stupid, given Cham's fixtures.

    Help……

I guess the handy thing is that Coleman is OOP so he might come on and do something from midfield if he gets 20 minutes, which is not as bad as someone who comes on for 20 mins to fill in at the back.

But there are about 10 players I have my eye on.

In the market for Chamackh, Dembele, Davies, Elmander, VDV, Arteta, Lee,Baines, Jagielka, Vidic, Cole.....

But 12 point hits are no reason to break a boring Team.

I don't buy into this 'boring' team business either. People say they don't want to pick the big guns, or the players everyone has. Er, everyone has them because they are most likely to score points, which is the reason for playing the game. An exciting player is what exactly? One that no one has but who scores heavily? Good luck with that.

Nah I didnt mean it like that.

Its just safe and boring to keep Tevez & Malouda even though there fixtures aint great. It probably better longterm to keep rather than selling and trying to target players with good immediate fixtures.

The more I look at Tevez fixtures the more I dont fancy him. But its easier to keep him if you get me,

I look at Tevez fixtures and the possibility he may get a rest given Ade is coming back to form and it tempts me to sell.

Wolves are starting to pick up form, WBA have been excellent thus far, then its United and Birmingham which could all be tight.
Chamackh Davies et al could all give immediate payback in the short term.

DB re Tevez, u may make some great points, he surely has to have a rest soon and with Ade and Balotteli lurking it is an option to get rid but his scoring record, as u often refer to, is ridiculous! The Tevez/Malouda out for Fab situation is doin my head in, both seem so hard to drop but I've seen great arguments for both especially as Drogba and Cole (not Carlton) can cover Chelsea but I was very much in the Malouda can equal or surpass Frank this season camp arguing with friends that I feel I need to keep him which dumb I know, I need make the decision tho. Why Davies over Elmander? Just to be different?!

Bournemouth. Yeah it has been hard, thing is they want you to be ale to create websites and flash animations on top of all things graphic design and we weren't really taught that in great depth. Ah cool, spose you'll get a lot of contacts being at a London Uni.

      Thoughts on this:

      Dempsey out, Fabs in.
      O' Shea out, Jagielka in.
      Cole out, Jara in

Three transfers just to accommodate Fabregas.

      Or:

      Ethers out, Nasri in.
      Cole out, Baines/Jagielka in.

Midfield of Nasri,Cesc,Arteta,Malouda and Nani is within an 8 point hit touching distance

Yeah , me too in the long term. But Arsenal could really explode in the next few games while Spurs have some tough games..Plus I can't afford him 🙂 Nasri is risky though, especially with Theo and afew other attackers regaining fitness.

That would be the magic midfield...
          Cesc, malouda, nani, arteta, vdv.!

You're not concerned by Arteta's hamstring problem then?

Slightly..but I think Moyes will start him even if he's only 70/30, such is his importance. I always seem to be happer about my side when he's in it, he gives it a balance and the assurance of consistently good points. His fixtures are unreal too

I have had him since gw1. Fixtures are great, I agree, and no euro distractions.

However, he is clearly carrying a niggling injury, and Baines may retain set pieces after Saturday even if Arteta plays. Also, you cannot rely on BPs this season, as the judges are on drugs or something.

I think I'm going to transfer Arteta > Fabs this week.

Arteta has already bagged some undeserved BP's, you can always rely on that.

Macheda really is a load of balls- verything ALWAYS breaks down through him, he adds NOTHING to the team! Thanks for that goal against villa kiko, but now will you kindly fook off back to lazio!?

      Rant over...

This has been the case in pretty much every match he's played in though- I really don't know what fergie sees in him, other than a rest for berbatov and hernandez...

He certainly looks way behind Hernandez. I would persist in him though, he's really young.
