Gameweek Nine saw 256 fantasy managers battle it out in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power. Those involved surely know the outcome of their own fixture, so to see how everyone else faired this round click here.

If reading the results James Alexander Gordon-style isn’t for you, then read on for the round highlights. However, before I get onto listing the key outcomes, I have to bring you some tragic news… I am no longer involved in the competition, after a 51 – 40 robbery against JohnSteed01. A minutes silence will be observed before the round three fixtures.

One Fantasy Manager who might be able to get over that news is The Plutocrat who, after his 74 – 40 annihilation of timboeve (the widest margin of victory in the round), earns himself a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power.

Just missing out on the prize was rajmanutd who, along with chipsngravey (in a very northern outing), was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, as the former prevailed 70 – 59.

At the other end of the spectrum was billyboychrisd‘s 37 – 33 victory over dadoune. Which wasn’t the lowest score jammy enough to win this weekend however, CarlowsGalacticos‘ narrow 36 – 35 ousting of Dino wins that award.

That was one of eleven match-ups decided by a single point, which included greghammer95‘s 53 – 52 win over hello 911 it’s quagmire….

Three fixtures went down to the tie-breaker of overall rank, which saw bossdrum, Chris81 and targa eliminate Clive, Burton and Mattenue respectively.

Contrasting fortunes for our former champions sees donnellyc marching on, thanks to a 40 – 31 victory over ham5ter, and Jonty doing one, as a result of his 55 – 48 loss at the hands of Ann_der_roo.

Granville is now the only contributor to have a berth in the tournament, as he saw off wolves_simmo with ease 50 – 32, with Pure Olivia (46 – 40 Ty_Durden67) and I getting beat.

So now we are down to 128, just 10% of everyone who entered the competition. They will learn of their opponent on Thursday when the third round fixtures (to be played during GW10) will pop up on the site.

Well done to those awaiting that fixture list (not you JohnSteed01), and commiserations to everyone bowing out this time round (some with more grace than others).

No penny has dropped, all that has happened is that he has an almost fit squad to chose from.

Anyone stupid enough to think that Nasri and Fabregas will start tomorrow simply because Nasri played against Spurs obviously doesn't understand what they say they are into.

It was a North London Derby and it was a similar scenario to last season where Fergie did a U turn from putting out mediocre sides (like tonight) and played all his first teamers against City.

GGGGGGGGRANVILLE, tell me you're not one of them?

Nasri and Fabs wont play, who said they would, not me. Fringe players will though, Denilson, Rosicky etc. and players coming back from injury like Walcott. Wenger has been known to play youth sides in this cup before but not tomorrow.

The penny dropped this year with Wenger and the domestic cups. I think he realised that first of all your team need to be winners and then further success will follow. Fabregas had a moan that 1 trophy in 7 years is a poor return and he took that on board.

I asked the breakfast and lunch crowd this and result was 4 votes all for Plan 1. Anyone disagree?

    Plan 1:
    GW10 (2 free tfrs) VDV > Fabs & Berb > Pea
    GW11 No transfer
    GW12 Nasri > VDV & Pea > Elmander/Carroll

means I have Nasri and Fabs for Arsenal’s good run AND I capitalise on the Knee Jerk price rise while Little Pea plays in place of Rooster.

    Plan 2:
    GW10 (2 free tfrs) VDV > Fabs & Berb > Elmander
    GW11 No transfer
GW12 Nasri > VDV & spare for something else

I lose less money selling VDV than Malouda

Votes plan 1 or 2 please. Thanks.

I have just enough to do Gerrard => Fabregas
Is it wise to just do it tonight?
    There's too much uncertainty over this protection/if he's at 91% or 2%

Do it now. Not worth the risk if you can't get him when he goes up.

Please feel abject empathy .. i need help and lots of it! In 2 mini-leagues I have dropped from 1st or second to 4th out of 7 in both in the last 3 weeks! All with respectable teams and no luck and a couple of dodgy captain decisions ..

This is where I am for this GW. Any pointers?

    Foster (Carson)
    A Cole/ Bosingwa/ Dann (Williamson. Foley)
Fabs (c), Brunt, Adam, VDV, Nani
    berbs, Drogs (Caroll)

I have done my transfers (brought in Cole) and have £1.1m in cash

I would rather wait on concrete Tevez news before bringing Cesc in. Am I going to be stung by a price rise tonight if I leave it?

    considering my midfield/attack is: malouda/nani/fabregas/vdv---drogba/berba/odemwingie

    malouda > nasri or essien
    berbatov > tevez

    or

    vdv > n'zogbia
    berba > tevez

or just leave malouda and berbatov in... I think long term tevez will be better than berbatov but I don't have the funds for a straight swap.
