Gameweek Nine saw 256 fantasy managers battle it out in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power. Those involved surely know the outcome of their own fixture, so to see how everyone else faired this round click here.

If reading the results James Alexander Gordon-style isn’t for you, then read on for the round highlights. However, before I get onto listing the key outcomes, I have to bring you some tragic news… I am no longer involved in the competition, after a 51 – 40 robbery against JohnSteed01. A minutes silence will be observed before the round three fixtures.

One Fantasy Manager who might be able to get over that news is The Plutocrat who, after his 74 – 40 annihilation of timboeve (the widest margin of victory in the round), earns himself a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power.

Just missing out on the prize was rajmanutd who, along with chipsngravey (in a very northern outing), was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, as the former prevailed 70 – 59.

At the other end of the spectrum was billyboychrisd‘s 37 – 33 victory over dadoune. Which wasn’t the lowest score jammy enough to win this weekend however, CarlowsGalacticos‘ narrow 36 – 35 ousting of Dino wins that award.

That was one of eleven match-ups decided by a single point, which included greghammer95‘s 53 – 52 win over hello 911 it’s quagmire….

Three fixtures went down to the tie-breaker of overall rank, which saw bossdrum, Chris81 and targa eliminate Clive, Burton and Mattenue respectively.

Contrasting fortunes for our former champions sees donnellyc marching on, thanks to a 40 – 31 victory over ham5ter, and Jonty doing one, as a result of his 55 – 48 loss at the hands of Ann_der_roo.

Granville is now the only contributor to have a berth in the tournament, as he saw off wolves_simmo with ease 50 – 32, with Pure Olivia (46 – 40 Ty_Durden67) and I getting beat.

So now we are down to 128, just 10% of everyone who entered the competition. They will learn of their opponent on Thursday when the third round fixtures (to be played during GW10) will pop up on the site.

Well done to those awaiting that fixture list (not you JohnSteed01), and commiserations to everyone bowing out this time round (some with more grace than others).

About to transfer Fabregas in for Gerrard (can’t stand all the uncertainty if his price will go up or not)
    Making my team
    Krul
    Konchesky Hughes Elmohamady
    Fabregas (c) Malouda Nani Adam
    Drogba Tevez Carroll
    Subs: Foster Barton Jara Shawcross

    Happy with that...any thoughts?

Thanks ya I'll mull over that later
I think Carroll has better potential to score big

Haven't actually done my transfer, but just have enough to do Fab => Gerrard so no point in taking the risk and waiting right?

Very similar team to mine, I have Robinson, Coleman and Faye instead of Krul, Hughes and Shawx.

No reason to wait to do the Fabs transfer, he's not going to play tomorrow, we know he's fit. It was such a relief when I got rid of Stevie Me for Fabs, hated having him in my team.

What a weird claim that is Tommy K. Why Ibrahimovic?

Oh, and of course he doesn't. You should all stop being such haters, Ibra is a brilliant player who has been among the best strikers in Europe for a very long time. I feel like an idiot defending him all the time, but you guys should acknowledge how good he is.

Weird, Drogba NTO for GW8 was -93,234 But yet went up from 13.1 -> 13.2 Is that a typo ? Bit weird that he didn't go down. He went down in GW9 with his NTO -18k which is weird if you ask me, surely with over 110,000 transfers out in 2/3 weeks he would have dropped and not risen then dropped? I am sure there is a perfectly logical explanation to it but wtf?

He is good, but unfortunately the rest of his defence sucks at the moment. Only team in the prem not to have kept a clean sheet so far this season.

So, I guess if I keep playing him he'll eventually come good one weekend!

Yeah, if only he'd bag one in the Prem.

Mind you, saying that, I rarely play him so it would kind of be a waste. I'm surprised he hasn't had assists as he puts in a fair amount of crosses. But then again, Wolves got no strikers, so that kind of answers my question really.
