A tasty home tie with the bottom-of-the-table team saw Fantasy managers transfer in Arsenal players in their droves prior to today’s games, but thanks to the heriocs of Rob Green, the vast majority will be bitterly disappointed.

The West Ham keeper made a fantastic 10 saves as he kept the Gunners at bay time and again before Alex Song finally made the breakthrough for Arsene Wenger’s side with an 88th minute header.

On the back of last week’s impressive 3-0 win at Eastlands, Samir Nasri was acquired by 172,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, Marouanne Chamakh by 107,000 and Cesc Fabregas by 48,000, as many expected a rout against Avram Grant’s strugglers. Indeed, our Captain’s Poll was fairly indicative of this optimism, with all three being in the top four slots for Gameweek 10.

Song, on the other hand, was brought in by a mere 4,000 managers, despite his goal at Man City last Sunday. Bearing in mind he is owned by only 2.6% of FPL bosses, the fact he has outscored the aforementioned players shouldn’t, therefore, have too much effect on the overall team rankings.

Song has now found the net 3 times in the league already this season, and given that his previous season’s best has been 1 goal, he’s showing a fair eye for goal this time round. He seems to have been given a remit to roam further forward than he’s used to, and so far it’s paying off.

Arsenal have now won their last five games in all competitions, but are making hard work of things at the Emirates in the league of late. Their last three home matches has seen a loss and two wins by just the one goal against opponents they have been expected to dispatch of with ease. Gameweek 11 allows them the opportunity to remedy that, as Newcastle make a trip to the Emirates.

Results elsewhere mean the much-maligned Green can take no consolation at all in his display, as fellow strugglers Wolves win over Man City gives them a three point gap over the Hammers at the bottom. Still, there’s always a bright side, Rob. At least you don’t do this every week.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Arteta is the obvious choice. Cahill has 8 goals and 5 assists in each of the last 2 seasons, and he was injured for a fair chunk of both of those seasons.

I'd say that Arteta is more likely to get you regular, reliable 6-8 pointers, and Cahill might get the odd 15 pointer.

Cahill is more of a gamble, Arteta is a much better player but scoers fewer goals (but gets bonuses).

I can't believe Arteta has never played for Spain. If I was a promising young Spanish footballer, no way would I want to be a midfielder. Fabs can't even get in the team, ffs 🙁

Fab mentioned it in post match interview, said that it was bothering him first half but improved second half.

He will hopefully be rested for the Champ League. Arsenal have plenty of fit midfield options to cover surely.

Nasri had a belter of a shot that hit the woodwork. It was like an exocet missile. Nasri & Song were the best Goons on the pitch.

Little real service to Chamakh. The introduction of Walcott added some much needed impetus.

We can only hope & pray (if you believe in that kind of stuff) about Fabregas. For sure he's an immediate doubt for the Champions League game.

            Yeah, I saw that.

I didn't know Nasri could pull off a shot like that and with that much power.

It was pretty amazing, Roberto Carlos-esque.

Looks like he'll be on set-pieces for a while if he can hit them like that!

As a Fab owner, what concerned me was the number of set pieces Nasri took. Perhaps it was to protect Fabs injury but not ideal if it continues.

He seems to have nabbed the free kicks and corners from Fabs, but I don't understand why.

Fabs has an absolute wand of a right foot, and spots runs into the box better than anyone I've seen for a long time.

Cesc is still on pens, he confirmed this in the programe, he's probably not injured, if he was he would have come off, I'm guessing its an excuse to keep him out of midweek as the group is practically won and he don't really need to play.

tight tendon...that would usually be stiffness as long as its not in the muscle then he should be fine.the physical work he should have done coming back should prevent this stuff otherwise it will become chronic which is bad for us arsenal and him.

Jags is a good option, he's underpriced this season at 5.5 (5.7 now) - Everton are solid at the back and BPs likely for him. I would try to get Mummy as well - Sunderland are very tight at home, and he's oop.

they don't randomly decide give double gameweeks in fpl.

It has to occur from postponed matches due to weather or teams in cup action, who have to change the fixture.

Since no games have been postponed yet this season due to weather, cup matches etc then surely there wont be any as of yet. The problem last season was GW2 only involved 6 matches so 8 teams didnt play due to European commitments had a double straight off. The season the early season mid-week matches have been moved to mid-November where it is a full GW.

Can any one explain why Kevin Doyle was given an assist yesterday - where does it fit in with the following rule...

      "Assists
These are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team who makes the last pass before a goal is scored.

If during this pass, an opposing player significantly alters the speed or direction of the ball, then no assist is given except if this intervention directly results in an own goal.

If a goalkeeper does not have control of the ball and parries a shot or drops a cross or the ball rebounds off the woodwork, the attacking player shooting or crossing the ball receives the assist if a goal directly ensues.

In the event of a penalty, the player earning the penalty gets an assist if it is successfully scored, but not if he takes it himself in which case no assist is given. No assist is given for a player who earns a free kick that subsequently results in a goal.

All assists are reviewed within 24 hours of the game finishing."

For wolves second goal where kevin doyle shot and it got parried from the keeper and edwards stuck it in

If a goalkeeper does not have control of the ball and parries a shot or drops a cross or the ball rebounds off the woodwork, the attacking player shooting or crossing the ball receives the assist if a goal directly ensues.

Agrees with you. They are pretty good.

56:08 GOAL - David Edwards:Wolverhampton 2 - 1 Man City David Edwards finds the net with a goal from deep inside the penalty box to the bottom right corner of the goal. Wolverhampton 2-1 Man City.
56:02 Kevin Doyle takes a shot. Micah Richards gets a block in.

No mention of the keeper in BBC so from what I read the assist will get taken off. Haven't seen the goal.

Just emailed FPL to remove the assist, this will also mean Hart will lose a point as his "save" count will go down from 3 to 2...

          Yes, I am bored.

Want to transfer out either Drogs, Malouda or Tevez but really can't decide which one, any thoughts?

I'd rather have Droggles than Malouda, so lose the Frenchie.

Just looked at it and dropping Malouda doesn't free up enough cash for Fabs, so now it's between Drogba and Tevez

I think i'm gonna drop Drogba, controversial but bringing Fabs in has to be a priority...at least untill he gest injured again
