Unfortunately for many of us out there the clocks only went back by one hour last night, and not twenty-four. There’s no chance to reverse any of those duff decisions made so fantasy managers can only move forward with an early kick-off – to prevent any of that rabble rousing malarkey – in the Birmingham derby. The teams are in and are as follows…

Aston Villa XI: Friedel; Luke Young, Dunne, Clark, Collins, Warnock; A Young, Reo-Coker, Sidwell, Downing; Heskey.

Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Ridgewell, Dann;, Larsson, Gardner, Ferguson, Fahey, Hleb; Zigic

As this non-televised game draws to a close we head northward bound for another derby, this time up at St. James’ Park as the Tyne and Wear sides to pit their wits against each other. Can Steve Bruce topple the club he supports? Finally today, Bolton will be welcoming Roy Hodgson’s men to the Reebok Stadium as Liverpool look to build on their victory against Blackburn last week.

All of this can be dissected through the day by you and your like minded managers here and in the now open Dugout Discussion.

like i say below, i wouldnt mind so much if i hadnt put so much effort in

i'm the only one in my league who does put so much effort in and i'm floundering in mid-table mediocracy

the people ahead of me are trading on luck - it has to run out soon lol

Of course it's nice to get good scores, have a high ranking and bring in players who then do the biz. But the game should be a FUN thing to do as a pastime/hobby.

      Nightmare?????

....I've just lost top spot in our mini-league to my sister!!

My midfield of Nani_Nasri_Malouda_VdV_Fabregas(c), with Elmo first sub (Dann 2nd)on for O'Shea, didn't match up to her team consisting of Song(9), Vidic(14) and Nolan(God knows how many)!!

Her 70+ points have destroyed my team, and she only ever looks at it briefly on a Saturday morning.....

This performance just really highlights how bloody retarded the Hughton sack rumours are. He’s got the team functioning excellently, so long as we don’t get slammed with more bad injuries I’m pretty hopeful of survival. Mid-table could/should be possible.
Hope they don’t slack off in the second half.

The injuries do matter though, any side losing its first choice keeper would suffer, and Ben Arfa is a bit of magic that will be missed. Our squad isn't huge by any means, some decent youngsters like Vuckic, Ferguson, Ranger etc but it is a pretty shallow pool. Still Gosling to come back I suppose, but if we lost Gutierrez for example we would be heavily reliant on Routledge for an outlet. That would be unfortunate.

Agreed that would be unfortunate, but every single team in the league gets injuries. It just seems like the team you support gets it worse.

Not a big name though, is he? That is what Newcastle have been historcally obsessed with, and it's generally come back to haunt them.

Good to see the newcastle platers actually playing for their manager for once.

I guess people around here forgot the golden rule that form goes out of the window on derby day? Also, Steve Bruce might look grim but tonight he'll explode with joy at home.

Great point. Because he hasn't scored 750 points today in a tough away game, he's suddenly a bad option.

Essential was C.Ronaldo, not a random sunderland player

I'm considering Barton > Nolan AFTER the Arsenal game. I think that could work out well given Newcastle's fixtures. I'm definetely not knee jerking based on this performance, though. Let the short minded people do the opposite is what I say. It's better for us.

Just saw FPL pundit page..what a load of sh*t! Javier Hernadez gets one good game and now they say "Chicharito definitely falls in the 'must-buy' category".They also consider Emile Heskey one to watch...lol... makes you realise how lucky we are to have a great site like this for the FPL game.

Nolan is not the type of player I like really but he does get pens usually and now he has caught goal scoring-something off his lodger Caroll - Mummy off so no interest now - switching off this Geordie derby cannot take anymore of this - need a hatrick from Elmander against the pool but the way this GW is going will Elmander last 90- fcuking mad game. Sunderland have defended so well until today - you just can not predict what will happen so I am not listening this week to all the FABS MUMMY NASRI now NOLAN nonesense on this forum. Nobody knows a dam thing because it's a funny old game! Funny Funny! try telling that to Mummy owners. Rant over - beer required.

Nolan gets points for sure but he looks like an old fella but now there will be a Nolan Bandwagon and I refuse any more bandwagons - however Barton and Nolan are cheap and always in the action. I thought there would be red cards for the Toon players today, beer now must have medication. Happy day for you so far Attila. The vikings never had horns by the way that is a tourist gimmick invented by some business man. Red card Bramble now even my red cards thought went the wrong way.

Nolan is not fancy or anything but is always central to what Newcastle accomplish and is very often in the goals. So, at least to me it is not a one week wonder. As for Mummy he is a player out of position. That always bring some attention but I disagreed with the heavy attention. On the other hand, out of one bad game when the whole week he had injury problems to say he is useless that is as well wrong. Mummy should get medium attention in my opinion and especially when the fixtures will be normal and most of them at home.

Its the sensible move, neither Simpson nor Enrique get many goals or assists - undoubtedly Enrique is the better player in real life but swapping him for Simpson to save money is the logical choice.

Well. Just woke up and wandered home from my mates.... And well. Heskey, To be fair, I don't expect anything from him in a 0-0 draw.... Also Elmo, thats gay, why take him off ? I am out of the cup now, he's got a final score of 63, and I am sitting on 43 with Carroll and Jaask still to play.... Nani at least did well for me... Tough (C) Choice this week, Nani or Fabregas, I think the majority (Not on here) will be (C) Nani next week so I am going to go Nani probably.... I also have a massive headache. COME ON ANDY!!
