Nani has emerged as a major doubt for United’s Gameweek 11 clash with Wolves at Old Trafford this weekend after suffering a groin strain in tonight’s 3-0 Champions League win over Bursaspor in Turkey.

The winger sustained the injury on 29 minutes into the Group C clash and was replaced by Ji-Sung Park. Given that United will travel to Eastlands to face City in the local derby next Wednesday, it seems highly unlikely that Alex Ferguson will take a risk with the Portuguese winger for a home clash with Wolves should there be any doubt on his fitness.

Ferguson offered little information when quizzed on the severity of the injury in his post-match comments tonight…

“It’s difficult to say, we’ll see what Nani is like tomorrow”

Having scored the opening goal in tonight’s win, Darren Fletcher also suffered an injury, going over on his ankle an hour into the game. He too will be a doubt for the visit of Wolves. Ferguson added this on his two injury concerns…

“The problem is our travelling back. Darren picked up an ankle injury as well so there are a couple of concerns at the moment. Hopefully, they will be alright.”

We can only keep our ear to the ground for updates from Old Trafford in the next 24 hours. A spell on the sidelines for Nani will come as a significant blow to us Fantasy Managers with the United man firmly established as the “must-have” midfielder so far this season.

Nani has registered 4 goals and 8 assists in the Fantasy Premier League game to this point. Owned by over 34% of Managers in the game, Nani has risen from an initial price of 8.0 to a value of 8.8. Any transfer would therefore see most of his Fantasy owners suffer a loss.

Ferguson will hope to have Ryan Giggs fit for the visit to City on Wednesday, with Park the obvious candidate to cover on the opposite flank. Goals from Gabriel Obertan and Bebe tonight however will have put them in the frame to figure against Wolves should, as expected, Nani miss out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have nani, if it is confirmed he is out anyone think it would be worthwhile transferring to Bale. That would enable me to upgrade Albrighton to Nzog or Nolan. The worrying thing is I may not be able to get Nani back without hits.

What you guys doing if he us out? (also thinking about Arteta)
