Nani has emerged as a major doubt for United’s Gameweek 11 clash with Wolves at Old Trafford this weekend after suffering a groin strain in tonight’s 3-0 Champions League win over Bursaspor in Turkey.

The winger sustained the injury on 29 minutes into the Group C clash and was replaced by Ji-Sung Park. Given that United will travel to Eastlands to face City in the local derby next Wednesday, it seems highly unlikely that Alex Ferguson will take a risk with the Portuguese winger for a home clash with Wolves should there be any doubt on his fitness.

Ferguson offered little information when quizzed on the severity of the injury in his post-match comments tonight…

“It’s difficult to say, we’ll see what Nani is like tomorrow”

Having scored the opening goal in tonight’s win, Darren Fletcher also suffered an injury, going over on his ankle an hour into the game. He too will be a doubt for the visit of Wolves. Ferguson added this on his two injury concerns…

“The problem is our travelling back. Darren picked up an ankle injury as well so there are a couple of concerns at the moment. Hopefully, they will be alright.”

We can only keep our ear to the ground for updates from Old Trafford in the next 24 hours. A spell on the sidelines for Nani will come as a significant blow to us Fantasy Managers with the United man firmly established as the “must-have” midfielder so far this season.

Nani has registered 4 goals and 8 assists in the Fantasy Premier League game to this point. Owned by over 34% of Managers in the game, Nani has risen from an initial price of 8.0 to a value of 8.8. Any transfer would therefore see most of his Fantasy owners suffer a loss.

Ferguson will hope to have Ryan Giggs fit for the visit to City on Wednesday, with Park the obvious candidate to cover on the opposite flank. Goals from Gabriel Obertan and Bebe tonight however will have put them in the frame to figure against Wolves should, as expected, Nani miss out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

there once was a time when i dreamed of having fabregas, malouda, nani, and vdv in the same midfield..... sunday i managed to finally do it. Now i have 35 million pounds of rubbish. i already have jara out of the equation for the GW, if more than 2 of these guys are kept off the pitch, i am jumping out of my window. Grant it, its on the ground floor, but there is a prickly bush I would land in.

So Nani and Jara on the bench this week then. Too much profit tied up in Nani and Jara no other 4.4 or less defenders jump out at me.

Trying to save transfer to do 2 next week, perhaps to help beef up defence/GK from mid/fwd funds without a hit.

If your captain misses out, and the person who would by your chosen selection method be your first emergency captain also doesn't play a part, does it get passed down to someone who does play or is the second choice person there even with no points?

Nearly everyone has Nani so his injury good news , will mean us good managers who have a strong 15 will see some reward.

Also it might encourage a few ejits to actually transfer Nani out

I have Van der Vaart , Nani and Fabregas , plus coleman , but im not worried , will just have to play Caroll and Nolan instead

Actually, chances aren't as slim as you think. The richest person in Norway is a huge Molde supporter and he is persoanlly working on a deal to lure Solskjaer there. Rumors are also that Solskjaer wants a head coaching role.

Nah, they're talking about the similiarities between today's economic crisis and the great depression of the 1920's.. Riise is blaming exchange rates and Morten is talking abot the split of financial responsibility among global superpowers

I'm not even talking about Nani haha. I'm talking about Noble who is out for a month and Coleman who's chances of starting get slimmer week after week.

I reckon Coleman is good for another couple of games but will struggle beyond that...Anichebe is close to a return apparently and Osman in about 3-4 weeks.

If he can play the next two (Bpl and BOL) then I will be happy.

I can "happily" tolerate just one of Nani and VDV missing this weekend, because I had super Carroll on the bench.

But with Odemwingie as of yet to return (fingers crossed) or if Rafael news is bad, I'll be forced to make a tough decision... one may have to go. And given that we'll have the grace of Spurs line-ups come Tuesday, if he's only sketchy for the weekend... I can see Nani getting short shrift from my squad.

Yup we should get the grace of knowing the Stoke, Birmingham, Sunderland and Spurs teams next gameweek...

So pretty much Spurs then. Useful in the case of Van Der Vaart at least, probably.

i presume you mean we'll know the squad list for the GW12 fixtures before hand? A slight blessing but owning both Nani & VdV i'll be watching FFS & Opta like a hawk!
            And who to bring in!?
