Nani has emerged as a major doubt for Unitedโ€™s Gameweek 11 clash with Wolves at Old Trafford this weekend after suffering a groin strain in tonightโ€™s 3-0 Champions League win over Bursaspor in Turkey.

The winger sustained the injury on 29 minutes into the Group C clash and was replaced by Ji-Sung Park. Given that United will travel to Eastlands to face City in the local derby next Wednesday, it seems highly unlikely that Alex Ferguson will take a risk with the Portuguese winger for a home clash with Wolves should there be any doubt on his fitness.

Ferguson offered little information when quizzed on the severity of the injury in his post-match comments tonightโ€ฆ

“It’s difficult to say, we’ll see what Nani is like tomorrow”

Having scored the opening goal in tonightโ€™s win, Darren Fletcher also suffered an injury, going over on his ankle an hour into the game. He too will be a doubt for the visit of Wolves. Ferguson added this on his two injury concernsโ€ฆ

“The problem is our travelling back. Darren picked up an ankle injury as well so there are a couple of concerns at the moment. Hopefully, they will be alright.”

We can only keep our ear to the ground for updates from Old Trafford in the next 24 hours. A spell on the sidelines for Nani will come as a significant blow to us Fantasy Managers with the United man firmly established as the “must-have” midfielder so far this season.

Nani has registered 4 goals and 8 assists in the Fantasy Premier League game to this point. Owned by over 34% of Managers in the game, Nani has risen from an initial price of 8.0 to a value of 8.8. Any transfer would therefore see most of his Fantasy owners suffer a loss.

Ferguson will hope to have Ryan Giggs fit for the visit to City on Wednesday, with Park the obvious candidate to cover on the opposite flank. Goals from Gabriel Obertan and Bebe tonight however will have put them in the frame to figure against Wolves should, as expected, Nani miss out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have VDV, Nani, Fabregas who are all doubts

I have coleman, Chamakh and Berbatov who might not play the full 90 minutes.

Im tempted to move VDV or Nani for Arteta, but logic tells me that I'm going to need an extra transfer next gameweek, and I plan to have VDV and Nani for the season anyway. Sigh

Berba will play the full 90. I am worried, however, that the Manchester derby will be his third game in a week. I'm worried he will probably get subbed around the 70th there. Do you have enough cover on your bench if those mentioned above don't play?

Im not really concerned about the derby, Im more concerned about this gameweek because Im trying to save the transfer for next gameweek. Probably to downgrade Chamakh to Carroll and upgrade Toure to Cashley, but of course, the important point is having that extra transfer next gameweek in the likely event that someone else gets injured again

Berba won't start against wolves imo. They have 5 games in 14 days and I can't see him starting all of them. He'll be needed for the next 2 tough away games so surely he'll be given a rest this weekend.

Loads of players in the prem get knocks and injuries in games but they normally have the whole week to recover so it's alright, but next week they won't, 3 games in one week so their will definitely be injuries. People will only regret it if they don't save their transfer this week IMO.

arteta seems a viable option now that nani is out of saturday's game, christ everyone's either not fit or misfiring at the moment - there isn't a 'banker' in the whole game at the moment!
think back to previous years when you could just captain lampard and not think about the rest of the team really haha
torres (form), rooney (injured), lampard (injured and lack of form), van persie (injured), fabregas (stop/start season so far hasn't helped), gerrard (not really hitting consistent form, good player stuck in an underperforming team), malouda (has gone a tad quiet over recent weeks), drogba (when was the last goal he scored?), tevez (homesick/apparent in fighting with the manager) and now nani (injured) and VDV (not fit) have doubts hanging over them one way or another.
come on you expensive players, sort it out!!!

That's why I'm finding FPL a little boring this year. Everybody has the same 'expensive' players, last year was great because Rooney & Drogba were on fire whilst Torres did well when he was fit, then you also had to fit in Fabs as Arsenal coverage seeing as RVP was injured. I'm finding it really boring that everybody has Drogba, when the time comes that Torres or Rooney show a glimpse of form, just a couple of goals then he's gone for me.

Coleman unsure of a start. Bosingwa unsure as well. Fabs 50-50 I guess. Nani a serious doubt if not sure out. Van der Vaart very doubtful as well. Odemwingie getting there but not 100% fit yet.

Have already used my 1 free transfer for this week so there is a chance in the worst possible scenario to play with 8 men this forthcoming week. Worrying times!

Should I play Barton or Alcaraz?

I dont see Alcaraz doing anything at Blackburn other than getting 2 points

Barton could maybe get something, but he could also get frustrated if Arsenal dont give him any of the ball and he lunges into a 2 footed challenge on Fabregas, who just so happens to be my captain

You might have to play them both, if injuries do let players out. This is a typical wait and see week. So unhappy with myself for making that transfer so early in the week.

As I said above, the best thing you can do is wait till the very last minutes for all the news you will get

Hmmm tough question. If Moyes goes for a clear 4-4-2 maybe he will drop Coleman and let Saha partner Yakubu with Cahill moved a bit behind them. But guessing by the formation he used away against Tottenham (an attacking side as Blackpool are) where I guess he used a more cautious 4-4-1-1, there is a good chance of Coleman starting from the start of the match.

If the game plan won't go too well, then for sure Coleman will be substituted sometime in the second half and Moyes will bring Saha in.

It all depends on how highly Moyes regards Blackpool. Don't take it for granted but my opinion and hope is that he will start with a 4-4-1-1 that at times will be a 4-5-1 and also at times a 4-4-2. I just hope the game for Everton will go well, so Coleman can stay the longer possible in the game

    Funny piece of trivia!

"And then there's the case of a famous German keeper, who shall remain nameless for now. Said keeper had just moved to Milan after a successful spell with Schalke, but during one game of his five-match spell with the Rossoneri (in October 1998), he managed to upend Cagliari forward Roberto Muzzi and concede a penalty. The Milan coach, Alberto Zaccheroni, had seen enough and immediately brought on Sebastiano Rossi for the beleaguered keeper. Rossi saved Muzzi's ensuing spot-kick, but couldn't stop Cagliari winning the game 1-0. The substituted keeper was soon on his way back to Germany, signing for Borussia Dortmund, from where he moved to the Premier League. Step forward, Jens Lehmann, we salute you."

Damn, i took out Gerrard for Nani earlier in the week.

Think i will hold on to my team and just captain Fabregas.

    Foster ( Carson )
Dann Elmo Alex ( Konchesky and Richards )
VDV Fabregas Malouda Nzogbia ( Nani )
    Caroll Odemwingi Berbatov

Have i benched the right players?

I have 4mil in bank should i make any changes ( 4 pt hit needed )
