Nani has emerged as a major doubt for United’s Gameweek 11 clash with Wolves at Old Trafford this weekend after suffering a groin strain in tonight’s 3-0 Champions League win over Bursaspor in Turkey.

The winger sustained the injury on 29 minutes into the Group C clash and was replaced by Ji-Sung Park. Given that United will travel to Eastlands to face City in the local derby next Wednesday, it seems highly unlikely that Alex Ferguson will take a risk with the Portuguese winger for a home clash with Wolves should there be any doubt on his fitness.

Ferguson offered little information when quizzed on the severity of the injury in his post-match comments tonight…

“It’s difficult to say, we’ll see what Nani is like tomorrow”

Having scored the opening goal in tonight’s win, Darren Fletcher also suffered an injury, going over on his ankle an hour into the game. He too will be a doubt for the visit of Wolves. Ferguson added this on his two injury concerns…

“The problem is our travelling back. Darren picked up an ankle injury as well so there are a couple of concerns at the moment. Hopefully, they will be alright.”

We can only keep our ear to the ground for updates from Old Trafford in the next 24 hours. A spell on the sidelines for Nani will come as a significant blow to us Fantasy Managers with the United man firmly established as the “must-have” midfielder so far this season.

Nani has registered 4 goals and 8 assists in the Fantasy Premier League game to this point. Owned by over 34% of Managers in the game, Nani has risen from an initial price of 8.0 to a value of 8.8. Any transfer would therefore see most of his Fantasy owners suffer a loss.

Ferguson will hope to have Ryan Giggs fit for the visit to City on Wednesday, with Park the obvious candidate to cover on the opposite flank. Goals from Gabriel Obertan and Bebe tonight however will have put them in the frame to figure against Wolves should, as expected, Nani miss out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So Bosingwa,Nani,VDV,Mal are all early doubts for the weekend.

Add to that the rotation threat faced by Coleman and Oshea.

We're all starting these panic wagons here.

Relax, we won't know until Friday who's going to play or not. Save your transfers, make them later on. This week anyway. With all these doubts, acting too soon could be really costly.

          Another Tevez owner 🙁

It's tough to have Tevez. You're caught in between a long term absence and possible early return. Throw in price drops, and it becomes very hard to decide.

I think wait for Friday, and then look at who you might want to replace out of Fabregas, Nani, Malouda and Tevez depending on injury news.

I think midfield changes are more important. Replacing Tevez is very hard, because there are no real alternatives at the moment. I'm not convinced by Chicharito, and the cheapie strikers don't have good fixtures except Elmander.

Decisions, decisions, but decisions to make later, not now.

    Anyone up?
    Foster Krul
    Konchesky Hughes Elmohamady Shawcross Jara*
    Fabregas Malouda Nani* Adam Barton
    Drogba Tevez* Carroll

3 definitely out, plus a questionable Malouda

I like the look of United fixtures (other than the derby game), so thinking of going (for a hit)
    Tevez => Hernandez
    Jara => Vidic

    Thoughts?

"Nani has risen from an initial price of 8.0 to a value of 8.8. Any transfer would therefore see most of his Fantasy owners suffer a loss"

Weong. Buying at 8 and selling for 8.4 would result in a gain.

Even still, he won't be 8.8 after he gets systemically transferred out.

In the end you will be buying at 8
        Selling for 8.4
        Re-buying at 8.6

Then his value will likely continue to rise, increasing your overall gains.

My season has suffered so much because of point hits. Bramble decided to get a red card for me and SAF doesn't favour O'Shea so I already have problems in defense.
And now if both Fab and Nani are missing, I will have problems in midfield as well. Odemwinge has been a doubt for 3 gameweeks now. What gives.
Can't afford any more point hits but with Fab+Nani missing and Berbatov being useless of late, I can only foresee failure.

It's no big deal. Just wait until all the news filters through by Friday

The midfielder facing the longest injury lay off, will probably get transferred out. Arteta would be the glaringly obvious choice.

Little point banging on about 'I might have player x, x & x out'. As most of us & indeed our mini league rivals are in a similar boat.

Mmmm... The opportunities are now in the value midfielders.

The likes of Nolan, Adam, Brunt, N'Zogbia.

The thing is, few people will have the bottle to drop the likes of Nani and Malouda to get those guys in. What will you do with all that money? Takes a brave man to lose his big hitters (often for big value hits) to get one of the budget mids in. But that's where I feel you'll be getting your good points in the coming weeks seeing as the main hitters are mostly injury doubts.

We don't have limited resources mate. I guess you didn't watch last night's game, no? Anyway here's a little read for you

Giggs (classy player) 'could' be fit for the next gameweek.

Not many clubs have limited resources. All got to within their means as of next season.

You have no match fit, natural wingers.

Two wingers got two goals last night, and especially Obertan's was pure class. I don't need further convincing. It's unfortunate that Valencia got injured, and now Nani... but that doesn't mean we've run out of options. Ang Giggs' return should be another boost

If I am not mistaken Obertan made the pass last season for Scholes to head the winner in the Man City derby.

Wish SAF would play him(Obertan) more.

I suspect we could continue this debate for an extended period of time.

                  Queensbury rules?

What Camzy said above has really appealed to me. I'm downgrading Nani to N'Zogbia this week. Risky, but it frees up the funs around the rest of my team. Besides, I can upgrade Albrighton to him if he starts going well again.

Good luck. BB away is a nightmare game. Pick someone that at least starts off with a home game I would suggest.

    The team

    Hart
    Elmo, Baines, Samba, Terry
    VDV, Brunt, Adam
    Drogba, Berba, Elmander

    Subs: Nani, Williamson, Etuhu

Should I risk any sort of transfer this week at the cost of 4pts? I just transferred malouda for nani 🙁

Wait is the simple answer. Terry or Drogba could get injured. See how bad VDV is on Friday/Saturday.

I have myhill as the other keeper (bad I know)! Yeah I’ve been waiting for Etuhu to come back I think he’s a decent player.

I don't know much about Myhill but my rival has had him since the start and I can guess he isn't that good. lol. okay In that case I'd just play Hart. Just like TM said it's best you don't transfer anyone out this week cuz by next week one or two transfers will definitely be essential
