Nani has emerged as a major doubt for United’s Gameweek 11 clash with Wolves at Old Trafford this weekend after suffering a groin strain in tonight’s 3-0 Champions League win over Bursaspor in Turkey.

The winger sustained the injury on 29 minutes into the Group C clash and was replaced by Ji-Sung Park. Given that United will travel to Eastlands to face City in the local derby next Wednesday, it seems highly unlikely that Alex Ferguson will take a risk with the Portuguese winger for a home clash with Wolves should there be any doubt on his fitness.

Ferguson offered little information when quizzed on the severity of the injury in his post-match comments tonight…

“It’s difficult to say, we’ll see what Nani is like tomorrow”

Having scored the opening goal in tonight’s win, Darren Fletcher also suffered an injury, going over on his ankle an hour into the game. He too will be a doubt for the visit of Wolves. Ferguson added this on his two injury concerns…

“The problem is our travelling back. Darren picked up an ankle injury as well so there are a couple of concerns at the moment. Hopefully, they will be alright.”

We can only keep our ear to the ground for updates from Old Trafford in the next 24 hours. A spell on the sidelines for Nani will come as a significant blow to us Fantasy Managers with the United man firmly established as the “must-have” midfielder so far this season.

Nani has registered 4 goals and 8 assists in the Fantasy Premier League game to this point. Owned by over 34% of Managers in the game, Nani has risen from an initial price of 8.0 to a value of 8.8. Any transfer would therefore see most of his Fantasy owners suffer a loss.

Ferguson will hope to have Ryan Giggs fit for the visit to City on Wednesday, with Park the obvious candidate to cover on the opposite flank. Goals from Gabriel Obertan and Bebe tonight however will have put them in the frame to figure against Wolves should, as expected, Nani miss out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

On a normal week these injuries wouldnt matter much , however there are three gameweek in one week , so even if nani only out for ten days then thats three whole gameweeks without him, same with VDV etc
And there bound to be casualties/ rotations for the supporting cast , just hope FAB is good to go

Malouda will be out this week. Chelsea has no reasons to risk him, based on the lead in league and Lampard or kalou can fill his role.

He did the same when he scored a hat-trick. Means very little when they mark him differently in the Premier League.

Just noticed that last years winner had Torres as captain & played Arshavin & Jara. Probably going to get his favourite player Lampard in shortly.

playing arshavin is shooting oneself in the foot
however i have top admit i have a soft spot for torres in my team
as For Jara his -3 points dealt me a blow but i was luckk because my rival had brunt whilst i had Adam
so i now have a four pount lead a cousion enough should i need to toe a four point hit
      to replace an injured player

I get the feeling that this is do or die week for me already.

Think I'm going to take one big almighty 8 or 12 pt gamble on Friday on some differentials.

If it fails I just fall further down the rankings, which is happening now anyway with all the big hitters in my team.

If it works then I can start to try and crack the top 100k places.

But, really, something seismic has to happen this week for me one way or t'other as I can't be doing with 49 points a week.

You can easily get to the top 100K by the end of season by playing the safe options. I can see your point though.

It just doesn't seem to be working for me though, TM.

They say the definition of madness is to keep doing the same thing every week and expect a different result.

This season it seems that all the big name players are punching below their weight and a lot of the lesser lights are punching above theirs. Even secure captain choices aren't really delivering the points the armband merits.

I've got to change players anyway as Nani is out and Etuhu is still injured I only have 3 mids already. And 2 of those are Fabs and Malouda!

Don't go too mad. I've just had my worst ever back to back weeks, but there are still 28 of them left. If your team is good, stay with it and don't make massive points hits.

A lot of injuries lads, a lot of... November is statistically worst when we are talking about injuries in premier league. Luckily back in the top 100 in UCL fantasy so I have little bit distraction. But nevertheless we need caution in transferring / keeping players in our teams. So what everybody thinks about yesterday CL games? I was impressed by Tot home form especially Bale. He had a monster game, Maicon was "left home" as I remember đŸ™‚

As Nani started last night and with City next Wednesday I was prepared for Nani to be benched this weekend. Obertan's form made this a very likely option. Fab is the biggest concern. He does not sound good at all. Anyone thinking Walcott?

Morning si, were you surprised to see Nani starting last night?

Is this the week we take our first hit for the season?

I was quite surprised but it immediately made me think he will be rested v wolves. gutted he got injured as this would have stitched up a lot of captains! Pending team news, a wild card suddenly becomes an option. Berbatov has looked very average recently, there must be a risk he does not start v wolves too?

Yes, Berba looks disinterested again. I still have Tevez as well. I also did not expect him to play vs WBA and I'm just hoping he is back for the Derby. Looks bad though.

If Fab plays(and scores 20+ pts as capt) I will be very very happy.

Little Pea seems a sure starter vs Wolves so maybe Berba gets a rest.

    Starting lineup:

    Hart
    Elmo, Baines, Samba, Terry
    VDV, Brunt, Adam
    Drogba, Berbatov, Elmander

    Subs: nani, Etuhu, Williamson

Any thoughts to changes or better ideas???

Cannot believe twitchy melted candle face has stumbled into vdv and GB..... the most dynamic and direct winger since Andrei Kanchelskis! Spawny twat, the next step will be for him to win something and then dissapear leaving financial chaos as with Bournemouth, WHam, Saints and Pompey so enjoy whilst you can Spurs fans.

Yak is streaky but a great finisher, anyone else considering handing him the armband as a differential this week?

Looking at your team i would transfer Jara out, UNLESS Nani is confirmed to be out for more than a week.

Tamas or Crainey are options. Coleman, Dann or Knight if you have spare cash

The only positive I can take from the nani injury is that those without fabs will struggle for a decent captain this week

Meh, they'll probably captain Brunt or Song and end up getting 30 points for it and those of us with the armband on Fabs get another 2 pt special!
