Having made it through Wednesday’s Champions League fixtures with little potential disruption to our Fantasy lineups, it’s time to flag up the fact that a new Captain Poll has gone live this evening.

Up until yesterday evening’s events Nani was your leading man in this week’s poll, holding off the hamstrung Cesc Fabregas in second place. Now that Sir Alex has all but ruled out the Portuguese winger from this weekend’s Old Trafford meet with Wolves, we felt only right to allow a new and fresh consensus to build…

Cesc Fabregas may of course now have free reign to top our poll, with a home fixture against Newcastle beckoning. Arsene Wenger expects his skipper to start and that could well offer the Spanish maestro the platform to return a worthy points haul.

At United there’s the Nani alternatives to consider, with both Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez set to take up the attacking burden at home to Wolves. Didier Drogba looks to have safely traversed his first Champions League fixture of the season tonight, so will – despite a fixture away at Anfield – inevitably draw attention. And, aside from their skipper, Arsenal offer a variety of options in the form of a trio of threats – Samir Nasri, Marouanne Chamakh and Theo Walcott; the latter will be looking to continue his devastating start to the season before injury derailed matters.

The poll is now awaiting your renewed vigour, so make haste and head back to the frontpage and cast your vote, then come back here to discuss and share your decision with your Fantasy Football peers.

He doesn't need too! Can tally more points in 60 than most can in 90. But of course, I'm more than happy for peeps to look elsewhere!

I can't ship any of my midfield, they're too precious to me, got a spare bit of cash floating round so might Upgrade Jara to another defender for a couple of weeks only to help through the injuries.

          Not sure who though!

Seems the decision facing the majority of managers is quiet simple.

    Do you;
    B) Make wholesale changes. Possibly costing points.
    b) Muddle through, let the bench take the strain & hope for the best.

One things for sure. Come Friday eve this place will be full of panic.

If VdV and Odemwingie (oh, and Cesc!) are fit, I'm OK! Can handle Malouda/Nani being out.

I'd only take a 4 point hit if 1) they are confirmed long injuries (ie out for the three GW's in quick succession and 2) I can't play eleven players.

Even if it does mean playing Simpson @ Emirates...

SuperDorrans? I've changed my mind! I'm not going to save a transfer. New plan Nani to Arteta or Cahill. Get Nani back GW14.
Leaves me with one choice for my starting team this week...Coleman or Carroll...who to bench?

Carroll imo. Coleman will start i think and given a crack at his old mates and there should be some goal/assist opportunities coupled with a chance of a cleanie

Time for Bale again anyone? Now at a special offer price of 6.7 down from 7.1! Form breeds confidence or is it the other way round...anyway all i want is some points!

so gyan will start for sunderland. my guess is welbeck will be dropped seeing as he's a bit pants, malbranque will go left mid and elmo stay on the right. 2 strikers may even help elmo get an assist at last

Based on form, duration of absence is confirmed to make you think otherwise rotation and the money tied up therin i would say Malouda unless Nani's

i have nani, vdv, cesc, malouda, odemwingie, bosingwa.
      then simpson @ emirates.
      SCORE.

I'd look to get rid of Nani before Malouda, but wait a couple days on length of injuries. Malouda COULD be back for two nice home games, where as nani is more likely out, but if he is back, they are tough games anyway...

Nani will be out for longer than Mal i reckon. Bos is more likely to play than perch but each are turkeys imo.

The great thing about the FPL season so far is that for once its not all about the money and the big players scoring big - more to do with careful/lucky captain choice and picking players coming into form (e.g. brunt etc) - i love it when i beat them 😉

How long do we think Malouda & Nani are out for? I might change my mind about keeping them if I know they'll miss a couple of games..

Lose Nani and keep Malouda. I don't think you can afford to keep both on the bench and you will be kicking yourself if one or both are out for the mid-week games too.

Don't sacrifice GW11 for the sake of GW12, both are important!

it's tricky with the fixtures coming so fast that a slight injury could make someone (Mal/VDV/Nani) miss two or three matches instead of just one!
