As dust settles from the latest Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline, first up today is Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to the Reebok Stadium to face Bolton Wanderers.

The team news for the 12:45pm game is in, and Harry Redknapp is forced to make changes as Aaron Lennon and Rafael Van der Vaart miss out as expected. Somewhat surprisingly though, in comes Niko Kranjcar and Sandro.

For Bolton, they name an unchanged side from the one that lost 1-0 at home to Liverpool last week.

The full line-ups are as follows…

Bolton Wanderers XI: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Knight, Cahill, Robinson, Lee, Holden, Muamba, Taylor, Elmander, K Davies.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Gomes, Hutton, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Kranjcar, Palacios, Sandro, Bale, Modric, Crouch.

Then there’s a healthy dose of six afternoon Premier League games, for which we will all be nervously awaiting the team sheets. The games 3pm are West Ham’s visit to St. Andrews, Wigan Athletic’s short journey to Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool’s home game against Everton, Sunderland (without Darren Bent according to his Twitter account) hosting Stoke City, Aston Villa’s visit to Craven Cottage and last but by no means least is Manchester United’s second game at Old Trafford against Wolves in as many weeks.

There is no evening game today, well not in the Premier League at least. You could always watch Derby County Vs. Portsmouth or Cambridge United Vs. Huddersfield Town. Just saying.

To take you through the inevitable fireworks today will bring, the Dugout Discussion is open for business as per usual, and will remain so until those last bonus points are released. Good luck everyone!

    Well pretty poor again. Disappointed mainly over the Park thing, been bigging him up all week and then decided Arteta was the safer course till GW14 (time will tell).
    Very pleased with Yakubu though, in his six games before I signed him he scored a total of 10 points, in the two games I've had him he's got 11 total. Nice.
    Now some little teenagers are about to see my wrath* on MW2

    * By that I mean I'm going to be shot repeatedly whilst swearing at the telly, glad the missus has gone round her mam's, this may become embarrassing. 🙂

      I am with you Attila, but this kind of things happens. U have a nice team. Try not to include the emotions to much and do not make that much hits. We have 25 GW more. Relax and enjoy the game.

    Bale has got to be the most frustrating player so good in Europe but just can't get any haul in FPL anymore. I thought with VDV he might get more today what a surprise HE DIDN'T.

    Why oh why I went Arteta instead of Cahil? I watched the game, I can not believe how deep he plays this year. He is not there on the fast breaks. Nowhere near. His shots (rare shots) are always blocked. Sharing free kicks, corners. Def not worth 8.2.

      Not too bad i reckon, especially for a team that were doing poor at the start of the season.

        I think this is very poor when you compare to VdV, Nani (all in the same price range, actually cheaper) or even Nolan, Adam (way way cheaper).
        Just spending 8+m to hope for bps is just not a good strategy (buy Ferguson for that)

          Well its more a case of waiting for him to come good for me.

          My point isn't that those are a good set of points, but good for a p-layer who has supposedly done nothing.

          ie. if that's him through a poor run then i'll take that kind of output to have him for when he goes on a good run.

    Just thought I'd put it out there and say nobody is 'essential'. Not sure why but it really annoys me when people say they are, someone said Coleman was essential in chatroom earlier, Elmo was a couple of weeks ago apparently. Drogba has been but has he done anything in about 5 weeks, errrr no. Berbatov was essential after his hatrick against Liverpool, look how that panned out. An essential player is someone who will score 10+ points every week IMO.

      Good post Dorrans. I think Coleman and Elmo are seen as "essential" not because they will always return big points, but because they offer such strong value (as well as being out of position). To be fair, they've both done pretty well since they "broke" as Fantasy options.

      As for Berbatov - he has really suffered from Rooney being out. Before Rooney's troubles, Berbatov was playing further forward and was in the box on the end of things - at his price, he did look a strong purchase. I almost, almost knee jerked my wildcard and changed my side to get him in. Thank god I chose not to but I couldn't have predicted the change in fortunes.

      With Hernandez in the side, Berbatov appears to have dropped deep and has drifted out of things again. He needs Rooney back, but even then he will need to revert to being a centre forward again before he will justify attention. He'll be dropping down my Watchlist for now.

          Cheers. Yeah I can kind of understand why people are calling Elmo, essential seeing as he is OOP and cheap but I just think if he'd be 'essential' then he would pop up with a goal or an assist not and again.

          I think what gets me is that people call people essential after just one or two games, if they do it on a consistent basis then they could become essential but Coleman certainly isn't yet so that's what made me laugh about it earlier.

          Strange with Berbatov, you'd think that with Rooney out he'd be a lot more pivotal and further forward, like a target man almost but obviously not.

        Haha, of course.

        I understand why people were calling Nani essential and yes, that's fair enough he has done really well for all of us but I think their more 'essential' cos of their ownership than their points IMO, like if you don't have Nani and he scores two you'll suffer more than say when Dempsey scored two last week. You kind of need them to cover yourself.

    Currently on 24 with Nasri, Malouda, Fabregas(c), Drogba & Ameobi who subs in for Berbatov..

    If we can recover and hit 60 I will be over the moon...

    Spewing over Park, had him on the screen but went for Charlie Adam instead.. Also brought Vidic in which failed miserably..

    Looking at 2 trades for midweek matches & a 4 pt hit:
    Berbatov out, Yakubu in & Dann out, Hutton in giving me this lineup:

    Mignolet/Al-Habsi
    Coleman/Elmohamady/Hutton/Vidic/Foley
    Adam/Nasri/Nani/Malouda/Fabregas
    Yakubu/Drogba/Ameobi

    Leaving +2.1m
