The results are in from the fourth round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, and can be viewed right here. For a round-up of how 64 became 32, read on…

In what was a low-scoring week all-round, Gazzamania narrowly came out on top with a handy 53 points. That earns him a free £25 bet courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power, and a spot in round five. Feeling the full force of that score was Ron Burgundy, who could only muster a lowly 21. That was the third-worst score of the round and, unsurprisingly, that tie had the widest margin of victory.

Just missing out on the week’s top-score by a single point was Manif, who killed off our former champion donnellyc 52 – 37, as I correctly predicted.

Also biting the dust this week is my fellow Scout, Granville. He lost 40 – 33 to Chris81, thanks largely to Charles N’Zogbia.

With no draws this week, all ties were all decided on points. The closest of which were single point victories for Dksbananas and Unwillingplayer, who were 37 – 36 and 41 – 40 victors over megatron x and Fiat_Chelsea respectively.

Mightily unlucky this round is Mighty and daniel.mf, as the former was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, losing 51 – 43 to DollyDaisy, and the latter achieved the best score that failed to progress, in his 49 – 44 effort against olive.

Fortune instead favoured gooner dave, who had the lowest score good enough for a victory and his 29 – 22 game against Azfad was the lowest scoring tie of the round.

The wooden spoon for round four goes to xero131, who could only score a pitiful 15 points. Placidcasual was the benefactor there.

Congratulations to our final 32, and commiserations to those leaving us at this juncture.

With Gameweek 12 only a day away, there is no let-up in the schedule and our 32 Fantasy Managers will have only a few hours notice of their fifth round opponent; expect the draw this time tomorrow.

    1) Torres / Bale / Figuero or,
    2) Anelka / VDV / Hangeland

Losing Jerome / Sagna and Bale (maybe)

    Next few weeks moves.

    Thanks!

avoid fulham with their fixtures, wait to see if vdv starts at 7pm tmrw as the deadline is at 7.30pm, i think torres is pricey until he hits consistant form. hope this helps

Ok after poor weekend (can't believe I jammed it through in the cup), looking at getting salcido out for konchesky, as defence in generall is looking poor, that would leave me 10.1 to get rid of chamakh, anyone advise as to whom to get in though?, at a loss here.
    Cheers.

Coleman, great option for the short term, just don't know if Moyes plans to use him RM once squad is fully fit and he has a lot of competition at RB.
Simpson, better option long term. He will stay at RB for Newc for entire season and you will never get him cheaper

Au contraire... I changed my name on Saturday night, and most people know it's me anyway...

Not particularly ashamed, nor am I bitter. There was only one side that deserved to win the game yesterday, and they weren't playing in blue. The first half was the worst we've played under Ancelotti..

Lucas is a cracking little player on his day too. Best player on the pitch yesterday, and the same is true with the win against Utd at Anfield last season.

Fair enough. Meireles doesn't look suit for the wing, and I'm not quite sure why Woy persists with him out there.....

So, if you have GJ on the right, and Kuyt/Torres up front, who plays in the middle? Only two from Lucas, Gerrard, Meireles and Poulsen (lol).

GJ could also play on the left, he is very two footed (or Maxi or Babel, but I don't rate either of them).
                    Lucas/ Gerrard for tough games
Gerrard/ Meireles for the easier ones.

You still watching the Wire? I've just started season 4, I believe it's the best one

Do you have a goalkeeper rule that you don't spend over a certain amount? If you have the money go for Cech, Chelsea have still only conceeded 5 goals all season. If not then perhaps even Fabianski for the short term? I know the Arsenal defense is leaky, but they have a good fixture against Wolves next.

You paid 8.2 for him, and he is 8.5 now. That means, if you sell him now you get 8.3 for him. If he drops to 8.4 and you sell him, you still get 8.3 for him. Your bank won't change until you actually sell him, but you team value will change if he drops.

fail fail fail! keep malouda and get VDV or nani in for nasri if they are fit for next week or after that.

Go for it, Malouda has only managed to score over 3 points once in his last 6 PL outings since September 25th. Not sure why people are so adamant about holding onto him really.

Nothing to do with being adament, infact i myself have sold him a few weeks ago. But in OP's case since he has hold on to Malouda through the tough fixtures and now he has two good home games where he has failed to score in one game there's no reason to sell him especially when there are little or no options to replace him with due to injuries and form.

Got all my transfers wrong so far, so might need some help. Team for this GW:

    Krul (Foster)
    Samba Elmo Toure (Faye, Jara)
    Brunt Fabregas VdV Malouda Arteta
    Drogba Carroll (Elmander)
    bank: 0.8

A)do nothing and maybe get Tevez next week
    B)Samba>Coleman (as everyone)
C)Samba>Simpson (to free up some money)
    D)Samba>Ilunga
    E)anything else

    Cheers

Call me crazy and a massive knee-jerker, but perhaps get rid of VDV just for this week and bring in Park. Form is always temporary, but I can't see Park just falling back into the pack for the derby, especially with Nani still out; he has the freedom to attack. Will free up some money as well!

    Downgrading Nasri to either Pienaar/Nolan/Bale.

Probably Nolan, he's averaging 6.3 points per game this season.

      I'm thinking of doing Cham/Nasri to Tevez/Nolan

Who'd you get instead of him? I've gone for Coleman...

His injury was actually quite handy (sorry Carlos!), as I had to get rid of either him or Elmo anyway.

You paid 8.2 for him, and he is 8.5 now. That means, if you sell him now you get 8.3 for him. If he drops to 8.4 and you sell him, you still get 8.3 for him. Your bank won’t change until you actually sell him, but you team value will change if he drops.

    Hi guys,

    Team now is

    Foster Carson
    Dann Elmo Richards Konchesky Alex
    Fabregas Nani VDV Nzogba Arteta
    Berbatov Caroll Odemwingi

1 Free transfer and 5.9 in bank

    Thinking Berbatov => Torres/Drogba/Tevez

Any suggestions? And should i take out Nani as well?

What time does Greghammer get in from school?
I can't decide between Piquionne or Obinna.
Everyone saying Obinna due a goal etc. after all his (unsuccessful) shots this season. But is Obinna not playing wide left in a front three with Piq as the true CF?
Any opinions, would be for 2 week only. Thanks.

Obinna - playing on the wing for the worst team in league. Not my choice for one of my three forward slots. 😉

Greg usually checks in at around 3:45. I think he's going for Piquionne.

First post below. I am going for Piquionne as Cheat-arito said, He is cheaper, and a proven goalscorer, Cole takes the main CF slot with them too filling in each side, however I notice that Piquionne goes up with Cole in a 4-3-1-2 With Obinna being the one, that is generally the pattern, Obinna is the riskier of the two but could prove to be better.

P.S. Why Hutton? Tottenham haven't a kept clean sheet since 2003, and after the next two games their fixtures aren't amazing. Especially the home ones - where you would realistically play Hutton.

Depends if he can hit the sort of form as at the start of the season, to make him ‘undroppable’ – though unlikely this will happen
