The results are in from the fourth round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, and can be viewed right here. For a round-up of how 64 became 32, read on…

In what was a low-scoring week all-round, Gazzamania narrowly came out on top with a handy 53 points. That earns him a free £25 bet courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power, and a spot in round five. Feeling the full force of that score was Ron Burgundy, who could only muster a lowly 21. That was the third-worst score of the round and, unsurprisingly, that tie had the widest margin of victory.

Just missing out on the week’s top-score by a single point was Manif, who killed off our former champion donnellyc 52 – 37, as I correctly predicted.

Also biting the dust this week is my fellow Scout, Granville. He lost 40 – 33 to Chris81, thanks largely to Charles N’Zogbia.

With no draws this week, all ties were all decided on points. The closest of which were single point victories for Dksbananas and Unwillingplayer, who were 37 – 36 and 41 – 40 victors over megatron x and Fiat_Chelsea respectively.

Mightily unlucky this round is Mighty and daniel.mf, as the former was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, losing 51 – 43 to DollyDaisy, and the latter achieved the best score that failed to progress, in his 49 – 44 effort against olive.

Fortune instead favoured gooner dave, who had the lowest score good enough for a victory and his 29 – 22 game against Azfad was the lowest scoring tie of the round.

The wooden spoon for round four goes to xero131, who could only score a pitiful 15 points. Placidcasual was the benefactor there.

Congratulations to our final 32, and commiserations to those leaving us at this juncture.

With Gameweek 12 only a day away, there is no let-up in the schedule and our 32 Fantasy Managers will have only a few hours notice of their fifth round opponent; expect the draw this time tomorrow.

Team set, just deciding on Captaincy...for me it has to be Drogs or Malouda. Gonna take a punt on Malouda...who's with me?

I think Bosingwas is too much of a rotation risk and you should probably change him to Alex who is less so.

My team at the moment is:

    Krul, Foster
    Elmohamady, Konchesky, Bosingwa, Dann, Jara
    Nasri, Nani, Bale, Cahill, Adam
    Drogba, Tevez, Hernandez

I have 1.8 in the bank. The guy in my league is 20 point ahead of me. I have already used my free transfer, but is it worth a 4 point hit to do any of the following:

    1. Bosingwa —> Alex/Hangeland
    2. Adam —-> Nolan/Parker
    3. Jara —-> Hutton/Coleman/Simpson

    Thanks!

    Hi guys

I was planning to ship Salcido out after this weekend and I guess his injury is a definite push on the transfer button.

I have a 6.3m budget and here is my short list:
1/ Alex 6.2m: Obvious choice / good fixtures but rotation irsk
2/ G Cahill 5.4m: In form / good medium term fixtures but two away games coming next / due a goal
3/ Elmo 5.1m: OOP / often subbed lastly / tough games being a kind run
4/ Turner 5.0m: sure starter / due a goal / tough games being a kind run
5/ K Toure 6.3m: Defense captain / kind fixtures after Wednesday

I already have exposure to Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Brum, Blackburn and West Brom.

Do you guys see anyone else to fill the gap? SHould I wait and upgrade to a Terry/Evra/Vidic/Ivanovic?

    Thanks for your help.

who do you guys prefer for a short term differential (yes they're both not great options, but for my 5th midfielder i like them as a punt) either:

    A) Parker WBA BLP liv WIG
    B) N'Zogbia LIV WBA mun whu

N'Zogbia is obviouslly better on form but Parker has better fixtures, including being at home when the 2 play head to head, so kinda can't choose

If we discover he wont make it, would you change him to Bale in mt team? Already done Varney out and Carrol in so it would be a 4 point hit?

no way, if he is only a doubt for tomorrow night, he might be okay by weekend, Bale and VDV do not compare in respect of output at the moment

if he is out for one game though? It's a waste of a transfer imo, especially where is far more consistant than Bale

Thinking of bringing in Torres for Chamakh before he goes up 0.1 tonight. My midfield has been pretty decimated by injuries though. Also thinking of starting Hart (Utd h) rather than Foster (Stoke a). Any thoughts?

My team is (£3.2 mill in bank):
    Hart Foster
    Bosingwa Mummy Coleman Dann Williamson
    Malouda Nani VDV Nasri Adam
    Drogba Chamakh Carroll
