Injuries

Joe Hart has pulled out of training today ahead of Wednesday’s England friendly against France with a suspected back injury. Reports suggest that Hart went down quite soon after the session commenced and team-mates rushed over to discover that the England No 1 was in some serious pain. He was eventually helped from the field and it is still unclear how serious the extent of the injury is, although Fabio Capello doesn’t have any major worries…

“Hart, the doctor is waiting to decide what happened. We think it will not be a big problem for him.”

The Manchester City goalkeeper is the most owned in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game by quite some distance, being used by 30.3% of managers. He is also the highest scoring player in this position with a total of 72 points and has recently notched-up a notable three clean sheets in as many games.

If the injury does prove to be a lengthy one then Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini does of course have the ready-made replacement in the shape of the dependable Shay Given, priced at £5.4million in the FPL.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Cor, that Alex and Terry news has blown that defence wide apart. I may have to make plans to ship Cashley now..

    Just to confirm:

    Cashley to Bosingwa
    Albrigton to Nani
    Drogba to Rooney

for a 4pt hit would be insanity, right?

Rooney might not definitely start and if he does, he may not be match fit.

Bosingwa is a less attractive purchase without Terry and Alex in.

I thought the same for a while, but actually, thinking tactically, he won't.

Welbeck and Gyan have played the last two against Tottenham and Chelsea brilliantly, and with Bent coming back in, Welbeck will get pushed into midfield, which means that Elmohamady is even further from the starting lineup.

          +1,
Don't forget Given was starter till an injury gave Hart his chance.

I hung with both and Adam Johnson when they made a friendly trip to USA. The two are friends, and Hart was very adamant Given is a great keeper.

    i) VDV or cahill? (currently going with cahill)

ii)best 4.5 defender atm? (currently thinking knight with fixtures?

iii)To double up on man city in defence? (currently have kolarov and bosingwa but could go with boeteng instead of bos)

iv)drogba or tevez (really don't know!)

v)to keep n'zog or go with brunt? (currently staying loyal with n'zog but brunt has much better fixtures?)

    anyone beg to differ? 🙂

Any thoughts on a 5.5 Midfielder - just below the Adam, Brunt, N'Zogbia price? I have the following candidates

    Jarvis - Fixtures and form

Albrighton - leaves more cash in the bank (I don't think potential signing of Pires should be an issue - left sided/right sided?)

    Parker - Form, bonus

Song - Not a typical Fantasy choice but has a few goals this year (I have Fabregas)

Henderson - flavour of the month

      Snap!

Why sell Cashley for? You didn't just buy him for his clean sheet potential, did you? He's still the best defensive threat for goals and assists and he may need to go forward more now if Chelsea are going to have 5m chase games.

And its not like Chelsea are suddenly going to morph into the 2007 version of the Derby defence now, is it? They have international defenders on the bench.

      It's a decent team.

I'd recommend a Spurs midfielder. Either Van Der Vaart or Bale. At the moment, they're equally good prospects.

Defense isn't so good. You're doubling all over the place. Samba and Dann aren't good choices with Foster/Robinson, and Elmohamady isn't playing.

Up front, it's okay, but try and get money for Davies or Elmander. They'll be good for the next few weeks and should see you get some green arrows.

I'd go with Tevez over Drogba for the time being. Looking to ship Drogba in the next few weeks myself - Malaria, Sundays poor display, tough fixtures coming, problems at CB will impact the entire team etc. Maybe a bit reactionary but the string of 2's doesn't look like improving.

"apparently" ferreira was very good at cb in training when they found out terry was going to miss the game. bruma has had a couple of injuries this season, including a hernia operation, otherwise they speak very highly of him. playing for holland without making a start for chelsea must say something.
van aarnholt is irrelevant btw. as a left back he's still waiting on cashley and zhirkov injuries

What does Vidic give you that Cole suddenly doesn't?

United may have easy fixtures but they're not exactly watertight defensively either, are they.

They have nice fixtures coming up, but home to West Brom was meant to be a walk in the park for them and they conceded twice in that game.

Chelsea still are the best team in the land, until proven otherwise and they, along with Man City, have the deepest benches in the prem.

I'd get Vidic in by all means because, until Rooney comes back to full fitness he looks to be United's best aerial threat and he has cleanie potential over the next 6 GW's. But I wouldn't rush to sell Cole just yet.
