The Carlos Tevez saga took a new twist this evening with City boss Roberto Mancini uttering his first words on the matter since the situation developed on Sunday.

In a very positive statement, Mancini seems convinced that there is still hope of Tevez remaining at the club…

“If Carlos is unhappy, and he’s scored ten goals and played very well, then I hope that he’s unhappy like that all season! But I don’t think he is really unhappy. He can change his mind.”

Mancini goes on to express his desire to keep the striker at Eastlands – again with plenty of positivity…

“Do I want him to stay? Absolutely. He has a contract, and he is our player. It’s my belief that Carlos will stay with us, I think that he will continue to play for us.”

Mancini confirms that he will meet with Tevez on Friday and it appears that the Everton clash on Monday is very much on the agenda…

“I will see him Friday morning. I will say ‘good morning’, and then we will talk. It’s important that we speak, because we have a game with Everton on Monday and other very important games this month.”

There’s no doubt that this latest development comes as a huge positive for Fantasy Managers. Clearly Mancini is set to go all out to persuade Tevez to stay and, from this statement, it seems highly likely that Mancini will look to select the striker against Everton on Monday.

It will be interesting to see how Mancini approaches the issue of the club captaincy but again, tonight’s statement offers such a positive front, it seems possible that Tevez could even keep the City armband.
We can only await further developments; there’s likely to be plenty more to come.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm planning o using my wildcard next week to get Fabregas and Van der Vaart back in , I currently have £5.4m in the bank with a team value of £101.0m I don't like having a load of mid price options in midfield and that much in the bank I will be selling Pederson,Nasri and Etherington and keeping Nani and Albrighton so in a week or two my planned team is Stockdale{Schwarzer is going to the Asia cup for around 6 or 7 weeks},Coleman,Krygiakos,Kolarov,Albrighton,Van der Vaart,Fabregas,Nani,Tevez,Drogba,Torres with a bench of Begovic,Bardsley,Cleverley,Simpson which will be the strongest fantasy team i have ever had

Extra! Extra! Xavi revealed to be a prick, just like I've always suspected.

Towards the end of the 5-0 win in the El Clasico Xavi picked up the match ball and handed it to Lassana Diarra, saying 'Since you've not touched it all evening you can have it for a while now'.

Didn't we all just know that, even if it is a bit funny, that the Barcelona players are smug ****** ******* looking down on every other team?

Perhaps that is so, but that he was not recognised on those shores doesn't mean he has only done it for 4/5 years.

I agree to a degree. He's the best short passer of a ball in the game, and very technically gifted, but so what. I'd rather have a midfielder who scores 20 goals a season.

For Chelsea he's been amazing, for England less so. Maybe 20 goals a year is too much to ask for, 10 from a midfielder is a good return.

Nobody can do what Xavi does and thats a very OTT statement for me
He is more than a legend now. Remember he started the first half of his career as a defensive holding midfielder.

Besides yes of course every would love a 20 goal a midfielder but each player should be judged on their own merits.
Its isnt his job to score 20 goals. Put he probably creates 40 goals

At the end of the day, they're the 3rd best home team in the Premiership.

They'll rattle them in and keep them out in the the next 8 gameweeks; and I'll wager they'll even gub Blackpool away from home!

Hmm well we beat Chelski with 442 in the Charity Shield, so maybe it's not such a crazy idea. I think considering our results over the last 8 years at the bridge, a draw would be a good result though. I'd keep the 433. We've only got Parky for one more game too, so he can run himself into the ground.

I got rid of the berb 2 weeks ago..

It will be low scoring probaly 1-0, 1-1..

In terms of FPL there are better points to be gained elsewhere

ah yeah, even with the 10/11 changed players it was ridiculous he needs to play some minutes in games like these to start getting goals and a bita match sharpness, just genreally bored with drogba

Have you seen Chelsea B team playing (vs New or even Marseille for ex)? If so, you would not have any of their players...
Fair enough, Liv was rubbish tonight; but with FT, Kuyt, Meireles, a good dfense and possibly SG back, this is a different picture
