Wigan vs Villa is Postponed

The Wigan vs Villa clash at the DW Stadium is postponed.

Wigan had described today’s game as being under “severe threat” in an official statement on their site this morning.

“Despite the best efforts of the club to keep today’s game on by bringing in snow ploughs and gritters, today’s game against Aston Villa is now in serious doubt after 10 inches of overnight snowfall.

Public transport isn’t running, there are motorway closures and the general condition of the surrounding routes is treacherous.”

Sky Sports have just confirmed the postponement.

For Fantasy Managers, this will come as a major blow for owners of Charles N’Zogbia who would have been widely backed going into this fixture. Marc Albrighton and Luke Young in opposition, have also been popular picks and are 6% and 7% owned respectively.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Krul or Foster this weekend? Carroll can’t stop scoring or assisting so can’t see Foster keeping a cleanie but can’t decide if its worth the gamble or not.

    Aggh i have adam, young and N'Zogbia. I need to ship 2, but for who!? Pederson's game might be off. Liverpool play Blackpool next week, so their game might be off. Damn Snow!!

        Im slightly worried that Dunn was a gamble too far! If the game does go ahead will they really risk him in this weather? Considering Dunn (injuries) or Adam (frozen pitch for next few weeks) out for a hit as this morning goes on....

            Twas my thought...but when will that come if he keeps getting called off?! Also thinking Foley-Sunderland due to their home fixtures but they do say never take a hit for a defender..I think I may have to keep checking till the very last minute this morning...

      Sounds good to me, Id also want rid of Arsh, but thats just me..Id wait on anything for a bit though as who knows what the weather may bring..

        yeah i want Arsh out too but it's hard to get rid of an Arsenal player when they're playing stoke at home though. Wanted to upgrade to RVP or Fabs but that would involve a double transfer so i'm better off holding fire there i think.

    Thinking of not using my transfer this week.

    Krul (Mignolet)
    Vidic, Kolarov, Kyrgiakos (Hutton, Coleman)
    Nasri (C), Nani, Albrighton, Jarvis (Etherington)
    Tevez, Drogba, Elmander

    2.1 in bank, might take a hit next week and do:
    Drogba -> Carroll
    Etherington -> VDV
    Jarvis -> Gerrard

    But I wanna see what`s going on w Tevez first, AND if VDV and Gerrard is back in action..

      Sitting on him as well.. and having a problem getting rid of him as there is always some transfers that are more tempting. Thinking of upgrading him to Baines, but now when his "main assist target" Cahill soon is gone for some GW`s I might just wait till he is back..

      He was last year when the conditions where similar.. Most of the games got called off except Man City who played BBurn on a monday. Tevez scored a HT and everyone with him captained flew up the ranks. Everton isn't Blackburn though, but still..
