Man City have confirmed that the Eastlands clash with Everton will go ahead this evening, barring any late downturn in weather conditions.

Although temperatures had dropped to -15C in the area last night, City have stressed that the pitch is in “perfect condition” and that they are not expecting a pitch inspection prior to kick-off.
Good news for some Fantasy Managers who invested in the likes of Aleksandar Kolarov and Carlos Tevez prior to a Gameweek that has so far seen just two games played.

Tevez is set to start for City tonight but it is widely expected that he will relinquish the captaincy, with Kolo Toure restored as club skipper. Roberto Mancini’s decision is yet to be confirmed but, from his statement over the weekend, the City boss made it clear that Tevez will play a part tonight and that he is expecting the usual level of performance from the Argentine…

“Carlos is a football player and he loves football. He plays like he did when he was young, in the garden. Every day, whether in training or in an important match, he always plays the same way.”

Significant returns for Tevez tonight would change the entire complexion of the Gameweek, particularly for those who took the risk on handing the striker their Fantasy Premier League armband. Tevez could prove a major differential in what would be a key Gameweek in the Fantasy season for all the wrong reasons.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yep me too (except for Colmeman).

And it looks like my captaincy is going to Tevez. I'm not sure I'm happy with that as it would have went to Bent if the Citeh game didn't go ahead. A Bent in the hand is often better than a Carlos in the bush.

If Carlos starts though I'd expect returns. Just worried Mancini might try and make a statement by benching him...

Mancini and City want to keep him at the club. If they drop him they're admitting defeat. They need to keep him happy and playing football, if he started getting dropped it'd be unlikely he'd feature again. IMO.

Telegraph does not have Cahill in starting 11 (but do have Pienaar). Anything to that or just poor speculation? I haven't seen news to support this and would think Cahill gets tossed into every match until he leaves at the New Year.

Pure and poor speculation I would say.

No mention of any Cahill issues anywhere and most importantly in the Team News section of this website. Unless he comes down with some virus or pulls up in the warm up he'll play. Everton absolutely need him to play because their strikers are pathetic.

Totally agree, utter madness. The Premier League need to decide what to do with clubs without under soil heating going forward, maybe even help them out somehow. The fixture pile up is going to affect other clubs in a really big way next year when FA Cup, Carling Cup, Europa League and Champions League are all in full swing.

🙂 I just think Blackpool take a lot of unfair stick. They have minimum stadia requirements in Scotland and it just means that clubs who only spend one season in the top flight have ridiculous white elephant stadiums that are far too costly to maintain when they drop down. So I'm not in favour of enforcing clubs to install/build when they get promoted. The charm of a small club being in the top division is that they are small.

I don't blame Blackpool at all, but it's a kindof a "one in, all in" situation I think, I think the Premier League will have to look at something anyway, like the Rugby is being held behind closed doors, I accept that the numbers at soccer are far bigger than rugby, and therefore more lost revenue from the gates, but, at the end of the day, it is a competition, if teams are losing out in the long run due to one club not have adequate facilities, something should be done, and I think the Premier League will need to address this.

                  http://www.bcfc.com/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10412~2247322,00.html

Not frozen pitch, Clubs can't do anything about very heavy snowfall on the day of a game, but with undersoil heating they can at least prevent a frozen pitch. That is my only point.

That's what happens when you buy your undersoil heating from Primark. 🙂

I guess there are different grades and density of undersoil heating and it would be easy to take the cheaper opion.

If the game is already in doubt then obviously its down to the state of the pitch. They will probably have to play their games in a neutral venue bit of a joke at this stage.

    a) Onuoha (bad fixture this week but good after)
    b) Dawson (Spurs have some nice fixtures - zero rotation risk)
    c) Rafael (would be my 1st choice but worried about Fergie rotating over the xmas period)

Come on Hart, Kolarov, Tevez, Coleman, Cahill!

Ideal result, for me, I guess is City 3-0

What will be interesting is to see how some of the foreigners will cope will the sub zero temperature. Namely David Silva, Balotelli and Yaya Toure.

I think Yaya will be ok. Silva seems to run about a fair bit. Balotelli is a complete douche so could go either way.

I guess they will all snood and glove up.

I hope Coleman and Cahill slaughter City. Because I have exactly zero city players 🙁

Is it correct that your FPL opponent has 4 City players (Hart, Toure, Milner & Tevez?)? Is that possible? Maybe I'm missing something.

I guess it was Milner who switched teams early and the guy never made a transfer since.

luckily i'll have good alternating fixtures in christmas time. so even if he misses a game, my sub defender wont be a bad one.

Not a no brainer but a very good idea. When Fergie rotates Rafeal, he invariably leaves him on the bench. Only once this season has he brought him on for a 4 minute 1 pointer, first game of the season. So as long as your bench defenders are at least playing, it could be a great shout.

Can you imagine what a red card for Tevex would do? It would be awesome... so many people with -pts for their skipper. I can see it happening as well, with what's happened and the fact that Phil Neville and the boys will get stuck right in.
