Man City have confirmed that the Eastlands clash with Everton will go ahead this evening, barring any late downturn in weather conditions.

Although temperatures had dropped to -15C in the area last night, City have stressed that the pitch is in “perfect condition” and that they are not expecting a pitch inspection prior to kick-off.
Good news for some Fantasy Managers who invested in the likes of Aleksandar Kolarov and Carlos Tevez prior to a Gameweek that has so far seen just two games played.

Tevez is set to start for City tonight but it is widely expected that he will relinquish the captaincy, with Kolo Toure restored as club skipper. Roberto Mancini’s decision is yet to be confirmed but, from his statement over the weekend, the City boss made it clear that Tevez will play a part tonight and that he is expecting the usual level of performance from the Argentine…

“Carlos is a football player and he loves football. He plays like he did when he was young, in the garden. Every day, whether in training or in an important match, he always plays the same way.”

Significant returns for Tevez tonight would change the entire complexion of the Gameweek, particularly for those who took the risk on handing the striker their Fantasy Premier League armband. Tevez could prove a major differential in what would be a key Gameweek in the Fantasy season for all the wrong reasons.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Regarding this quote in the article above..."Significant returns for Tevez tonight would change the entire complexion of the Gameweek, particularly for those who took the risk on handing the striker their Fantasy Premier League armband"

Won't he become most people's captain by default (if they have him) even if they didn't take the risk of handing him the armband? Unless they happened to captain MGP or someone else who is playing?

I really hope the game does go ahead cos without it my main rival will be lucky and get a Sunderland defender as captain whereas I will get Paul Robinson (2 pts) as mine. If the game does go ahead, however, I will probably get Tevez (f he plays) whereas he will get an Everton defender.

anyone with 2 liverpool defenders and samba this is what i'm planning:

with the blackpool liverpool game in doubt that would be you already stripped to the minimum 3 defenders. samba providing he is fit gameweek has stoke at home so you would want him there. however after that he has a much tougher run of fixtures until gw24 or so. therefore how about sell one of your liverpool defenders this week and bring in rafael (SUN), then next week bring that liverpool defender back in for samba (or another liverpool defender if it's kyrgiakos and agger is back by then).
even if the blackpool liverpool game goes ahead blackpool have a knack of scoring and surprising us therefore making 2 liverpool defenders a risk.
this is all of course if you have no other transfer plans as it will eat up 2 frees

Sounds good enough, but I'm always a bit sceptical to using two transfers to bring a player out and then bring him in again.

If you bought Rafael as you suggest though, you'd of course have the option to stick with him if you have other injuries or so, which is nice. I'll most certainly have a look at him myself - he's impressed me this season but at his age and around Christmas there is always a risk for rotation.

So why did you buy 2 liverpool defenders again prior to the Blackpool game? (Considering lack of heating and their knack of scoring)

I might have something at that myself, always a bit reluctant to do the first/last as I think they're hard to know and a bit down to luck.

                  Good luck anyway.

9/1 anytime is a good price tho, hell be around 12/1 anytime for most away games (until he scores)

thats because i think everton (cahill) will score so ur relying on kolarov to do something attacking wise which hes unlikely to dao although i bloody hope he does now!!!

after my pick of gyan this week i dont think im in a position to knock anyones captain choice in future!!!

At least I still have my original captaincy choice playing. I hate supporting Citeh players, even worse that they can go top tonight with a win.
It just dawned on me that Blackpool have also been top this season.

Did Tevez->Drogba this week. No idea why - some irrational fear of Tevez's price dropping and fancying Drogba to score against Utd and see his price go up again.

    Gutted.

Fortunately Onouha, Nelson, and GPederson saved my gameweek and have Coleman and Hart - hoping for 0-0 tonight.

Looks like there a another fixed game going on in Italy tonight.

Albinoleffe vs Piacenza loads of money going on the draw odds now 1-2

be careful if you bet as sometimes its rigged so the odds nosedive. then everyone backs the home/away win whichever its rigged for.

so 2-1 for the home win could be good with low stakes

are you sure, i hope so but i can't see it in the rules

"If your captain does not play then he will be automatically substituted in accordance with the rules at the end of the gameweek. A new captain, either the player with the highest form or price value at the start of the gameweek, will then be selected based on your emergency captain strategy"

The whole point of the auto captain is that as long as someone in your team plays, they'll be your captain. It would be pointless to just give it to someone else not playing.

If any of your outfield players play no part in the Gameweek, then the computer will try to substitute the inactive player for one of your replacements. This is done by replacing him with your highest priority substitute who actually played in the Gameweek and doesn't break the formation rules.

OK, Thats a bit clearer. thanks

    Got Rooney as captain.
Emergency strategy : Value and Tevez is the highest value after Rooney.
it might be a stupid question but Tevez willl become my captain won't he?

Could not care less who is top at xmas. Here's why Citeh won't win the title (amongst other reasons):

Main Striker (Tevez) - wants to leave, could be a bad influence on the squad.
Second striker (Balotelli) - mental, obviously a bad influence on the squad.
Third striker (Adebayor) - wants to leave, puts no effort in when he plays, obviously a bad influence on the squad.
                    Fourth Striker - Jo
                    Fifth Striker - Santa Cruz

    Hey Guys,

FPL: Regarding the Captain, If your chosen Captain doesnt play, with the settings for substitute captain is Value, does it then revert to the highest valued player even if he doesnt play, or to the next highest player that does play?

Thanks for the replys, but not for the attitude. Some of us have a life outside of FF which limits out time to spend on these sites. The Rules are not clear on my point, hence why i dropped on here. Cheers.

Why on earth would they code the game so that your captaincy goes from one player who doesn't play to another who also doesn't? Why would they do this?

that Sir is a paradox. you come on here asking their advice, then tell them not to come on here. if they did that there would be no one to answer your question..

going back to your previous comment, its fairly obvious that if a player that doesnt play at all then the captaincy wont be passed down to him...it will go to the highest value player that has played..
