This weekend could see a swarm of new January Transfer Window recruits make their debuts. The most tantalising prospect is arguably Manchester City’s new towering target man, Edin Dzeko, who looks set to feature heavily against Wolves. Other new signings include Roque Santa Cruz’s return to Blackburn, Wayne Bridge looking to bolster West Ham’s backline, Tottenham’s forgotten man David Bentley striving to revive his career at Birmingham, while Steve Sidwell is in a comparable position as he prepares for his Fulham debut.

Elsehwere, Andy Carroll has been ruled out of Sunday’s derby with Sunderland leaving Leon Best and Shola Ameobi to fight it out for a place in the Newcastle attack. Manchester United look set to welcome back Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Edwin Van Der Sar as they take on a Beckham-less Tottenham side, who have announced Gareth Bale as match fit. Wojciech Szczesny will start at West Ham for Arsenal after Lukasz Fabianski was ruled out of Saturday’s game. David Silva is still touch and go for Manchester City and will find out later today if he will make their squad.

All the latest, breaking reports are available on our fresh and up-to-date Team News page. Tweets are also constantly flying in, so keep an eye on those too.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

who should i bench from this front 8 ?

    nani, vdv, fabs, adam, y.toure
    tevez, berbs, torres

i'm thinking about benching one of nani or berbs.

and.. who to play in defense ?

    bardsley, coleman, kolarov, crainey, baptiste

plan to play first 3 and bench Blackpool's DF.

I'm in a similar situation (see below).
Berbs against old club...don't think I can do it. Then I was thinking Nani but if United win, he'll grab bonus. Adam will get bonus...I'd perhaps go with Yaya but even he could score big against Wolves. Him or Torres!

Moyes has rejected one bid, accepted the other. This leads me to believe that a cash offer is on the table, meaning Pienaar would leave during the window. I honestly think he's packing right now.

There's no mention in the German media that Pienaar might be moving to Bayern though. British sources speculated this time last year too that he could be a possible replacement for Ribéry in Munich, and nothing came of it.

Not saying it's impossible, but Pienaar didn't exactly set the Bundesliga alight during his spell at Borussia Dortmund.

I'm not being biased here but Everton have been far better away from home this season and have scored at notoriously hard places to get a goal consistently. Birmingham on the other hand host their city rivals who are awful away. I know who my money is on.

Everton have 2 away wins all season and 2 clean sheets away.

Did you miss the fact we've only lost 3 games away, the least outside to top four, for ironic purpose? Anyway, my original point is we will score and chances are Villa won't if Birmingham play their defensive game.

    Hangeland – Coleman – Djourou – Rafael – Jara

Worth it? As i dont think I will be able to afford this team in a couple of weeks with all the price rises.

"Dzeko is perfect to play with Tevez because he has so many different attributes," said Mancini, whose summer signing Mario Balotelli is currently injured.

"He is a good player with a good attitude and is working very well in training.

"But I don't know if he will start against Wolves.

"He is in good shape, but he came from the winter break in Germany, so he needs to work."

Hmm your right I will have to juggle my team if I can afford Cheetah he should get a few bonus points and I like your thinking on dolphin a bit worried Tortoise will be a bit slow he is getting on in age.

Yeah, you're right about Tortoise - the problem is that Rhino gets beaten on the turn, I'm thinking maybe Hippopotamus for the back four. The problem with a big back four is that they get cards.

          It's complicated

Can you tell me if you think Jerome would be a good replacement this week? My thinking is he will get fed nicely by the new boy.

Am planning to save my wildcard for now, so what to do with my free transfer?

    My team:

    Foster, Al Habsi
    Vidic, Baines, Bardsley, Skrtel, Foley
Nani, Nasri, Van der Vaart, Adam, Brunt
    Berbatov, Tevez, Carroll

At the moment I’m thinking of SKRTEL -> HANGELAND, HUTH or DJOUROU.

    Thoughts/advice?

If it was man u, arsenal, city or spurs he would be subject to rotation though, more likely to play week in week out and surely he would get something from 3 games? Great vid! 🙂

1 free transfer to do Konchesky > Hangeland. Would give me the team below and 4.7 in the bank, but with no Arsenal cover. One of Adam/Bale/Brunt > Nasri next week possibly?

    Begovic
    Coleman Kolarov Hangeland
    Adam Bale Nani Brunt N’Zogbia
    Torres Tevez(C)

    Foster Vidic Evatt Carroll

perhaps Shkyboi, defo if he's on pen duties but will he play 3 games...unlikely,,if i was getting 3 brums for the treble it would be johnson, ferguson and ridgewell or foster maybe but he is such a shit keeper,it drives me mental the points he racks up,they give him save points for catching corners, what a shitpants!

konch out, next week torres to rooners, then play your wc for 25 filling up on arsenal players and setting yourself up for the biggie (gw27) ,use your frees in 26 and 27 to stock up on brum defenders if they lose to west ham in carling cup.Sorted!

Back to Back Ballacks: Probs a bit late to ask, just saw the replies, but what about torres to drogs this week, then to rooney next? Can easily bench konchy (play coleman, rafael,Kolarov) so not a massive priority..
