This weekend could see a swarm of new January Transfer Window recruits make their debuts. The most tantalising prospect is arguably Manchester City’s new towering target man, Edin Dzeko, who looks set to feature heavily against Wolves. Other new signings include Roque Santa Cruz’s return to Blackburn, Wayne Bridge looking to bolster West Ham’s backline, Tottenham’s forgotten man David Bentley striving to revive his career at Birmingham, while Steve Sidwell is in a comparable position as he prepares for his Fulham debut.

Elsehwere, Andy Carroll has been ruled out of Sunday’s derby with Sunderland leaving Leon Best and Shola Ameobi to fight it out for a place in the Newcastle attack. Manchester United look set to welcome back Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Edwin Van Der Sar as they take on a Beckham-less Tottenham side, who have announced Gareth Bale as match fit. Wojciech Szczesny will start at West Ham for Arsenal after Lukasz Fabianski was ruled out of Saturday’s game. David Silva is still touch and go for Manchester City and will find out later today if he will make their squad.

  Almost all of tevez' big scores have come away from home (except against pool) and wolves have sprung a couple of surprises against the bigger teams (liv' chelsea and indeed city) Will dzecko push tevez out wider or deeper?

With the news Carroll is out for ‘a fortnight’ should I do Carroll to DJ? This would then leave me the money to do Welbeck to Berbatov the next week.

Which of my defenders should I drop to the bench alongside Foley? All the others have their plus and minus points.

Need to sell Konchesky, for who? Looking at Liverpool's defence, can afford anyone except GJ.

Have to play the defender this week, so preferably with a home fixture and a DGW in 24. Looks like it's only Wigan and Liverpool that apply.

  I would think Zabaleta will start LB. But put him in your XI as its unlikely he will be coming on as Sub, just make sure you have replacement on your bench

In a DGW do goals against goalies and defenders add up? i.e if their team wins 1-0 & 25-3 do they get a clean sheet or -1 for letting in 3?

Who is the best defender to have for GW23 costing up to £6.3?

I'm wildcarding next week so it is just for GW23 not long term. Thinking of maybe an Arsenal defender or Skrtel or Bosingwa (although I'm not sure he'll play). Got Kolarov which might cover Man City.
