Window Watch – Chelsea Begin Torres Talks

Liverpool have officially confirmed that a fee of the transfer of Fernando Torres to Chelsea has been agreed.

The sum involved has yet to be confirmed but, according to reports and day-long speculation, we can expect something in the region of £50 million. Incredible. Torres is currently on his way to Stamford Bridge where he will be expected to undergo a medical and discuss terms ahead of tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline.

This move was always going to be pivotal to the day’s events and so it proved, with Liverpool reacting to Chelsea’s move for their striker 48-hours ago by agreeing an incredible £35 million deal for Newcastle’s Andy Carroll. Expectations have been shattered along with transfer records on a quite staggering transfer deadline day.

A full summary of the day’s events will follow and, once we have confirmation, we will also bring you Scout Reports on both Torres and Carroll, assessing their potential at their new clubs.

    He's raw potential, defenders hate to play against him. However 35m + additional fees was monster money for someone who hasn't proven himself yet. I think he'll be a success for you, but you need to get service from the flanks to support him he wont suit your current game.
    I'm really hoping he'll lead the line for England for the foreseeable future.
