Window Watch – Chelsea Begin Torres Talks

Liverpool have officially confirmed that a fee of the transfer of Fernando Torres to Chelsea has been agreed.

The sum involved has yet to be confirmed but, according to reports and day-long speculation, we can expect something in the region of £50 million. Incredible. Torres is currently on his way to Stamford Bridge where he will be expected to undergo a medical and discuss terms ahead of tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline.

This move was always going to be pivotal to the day’s events and so it proved, with Liverpool reacting to Chelsea’s move for their striker 48-hours ago by agreeing an incredible £35 million deal for Newcastle’s Andy Carroll. Expectations have been shattered along with transfer records on a quite staggering transfer deadline day.

A full summary of the day’s events will follow and, once we have confirmation, we will also bring you Scout Reports on both Torres and Carroll, assessing their potential at their new clubs.

Doubt Torres will be playing tomorrow night, but already have Van Persie and Odemwingie up front. The plan if he had stayed at Liverpool would of been to transfer him out for Tevez GW26 but now it's a little more tricky, especially if he doesn't play tomorrow.

Who the hell do I get? Tevez is a doubt for Birmingham too.

Alot of people sayin Torres won't play 2m,,,Why not?,,,surely a sub appearance will be on the cards at the very least,,,if you pay 50 mill you obviously trust the guy.
