Liverpool have officially confirmed that a fee of the transfer of Fernando Torres to Chelsea has been agreed.

The sum involved has yet to be confirmed but, according to reports and day-long speculation, we can expect something in the region of £50 million. Incredible. Torres is currently on his way to Stamford Bridge where he will be expected to undergo a medical and discuss terms ahead of tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline.

This move was always going to be pivotal to the day’s events and so it proved, with Liverpool reacting to Chelsea’s move for their striker 48-hours ago by agreeing an incredible £35 million deal for Newcastle’s Andy Carroll. Expectations have been shattered along with transfer records on a quite staggering transfer deadline day.

A full summary of the day’s events will follow and, once we have confirmation, we will also bring you Scout Reports on both Torres and Carroll, assessing their potential at their new clubs.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just to confirm, Xisco has completed his loan move to Deportivo La Coruna, on loan until end of the season with option to purchase.

One small bright sliver of light in this eternal dark arsehole of a day.

Hazard £35million + is only good or relevant to me if the money is reinvested in the club. It won't be. It just means a rich fat man who I dislike has become richer while the club I support has been weakened. Why on Earth should I be happy about that?

Who knows what will happen in the summer? Newcastle are not in a position to turn down that kind of deal - tw*t chairman or no tw*t chairman.

No, I was mocking a Mackem for saying Andy Carroll should join a big club. The reason for said mocking was that their best player joined Aston Villa.

You think that a player who has broke the british transfer record (obviously 2nd if when the Torres switch happens) will not walk into the team when fit? I assume you also think Suarez may be next to Carrol on the bench watchin as Ngog takes the frontline?

Before West Ham at home and then a double week with two home fixtures? I'll be keeping him definitely...

He's a professional footballer, he should be able to just get on with the disappointment of not being able to move to Liverpool. He can always, and probably will, leave in the summer.

    Stockdale (Foster)
    Kelly Djourou Hutton (Walker, Coleman)
    Nani Fabs VDV Adam (Malouda)
    Torres RVP Berba

also, will Suarez be available on FF before next GW?

Berba was proven in the bundesliga and champions league to a lesser extent. Carroll isn't. Saying that, a combo of him and Suarez could be very dangerous.

That what I mean. It puts his price tag into even more question when proven strikers go / went for less. Suarez has proved himself and was £12m cheaper. Buying potential only works if that potential is realised, £35m is to much to risk.

what if hes not that good and he knows it? what if this his one chance at a big club?

they play about 10k a week too so theyre holding him back financially.

plus they tried to jerk him out of his bonuses and he had to take them to court.

shabby club. they should be congratulating him and waving him off.

its like this right- if marketing companies want to treat me like an idiot, they can go an whistle. Those puppies were cute, i like animals, and id buy it the odd time. If they think i wont notice now theyve tried to cut costs by getting an animator, and not paying a bleeding dog, they can ask my supermarket-clean hole. Email is sent.

*meant to add, if you listen to radio ads, and tv ads, theyre pure shite! No writing goes into them, radio ads like those on newstalk especially, they are absolutely shocking- they may as well just repeat the name of something over and over again. It'd be less annoying.

Anyway, next time u have the radio on,listen to the ads, youll see what i mean. Pure cack. I especially hate that latest macdonalds one, with that muppet at the end with his stupid face saying ' it'd ruin the cheese' . I would literally bash his skull in with a paperweight, or more approriately, the director/scriptwriter that oversaw the process. I hate modern consumer culture mainly because of this shite. Cut costs by getting an animator? Have you any idea how much that advert costs to make? Hundreds of thousands of pounds. A trained dog and a can of pedigree chum might just undercut it.

Bollox, ive worked on short films and animators can bang that shit up in no time. Hundreds of thousand my arse.

to get a space, a crew, make the dog be cute, equipment, time, food, crew wages, maintain crew contracts, pay salaries....versus have an animator set up a template that varies when they choose to rehash the ad...

              * and thats if the advertising agency is big. If it isnt, shit like that puts small agencies and people out of work. The price the ad agency would charge the company each time would be huge as they pass on the costs of maintaining staff.

A few dudes in a studio didn't make that. Honestly i don't know why i'm bothering but here we go:

As well as the probable 10-15 creatives, account handlers and producers from the ad agency responsible for the advert, the animation studio hired will have a director, storyboard artist, modeller, score of character animators, compositors and editors working for 2-3 months AT LEAST on an advert like that with regular back and forth between the studio and the army of stooges at the agency. The total cost of all these people will be more than a crew and a puppy for a day or two.

I should say, i hate that advert, i think it's horrible but if you think it's cost cutting you are having an absolute laugh.

                  Anyway FOOTBALL YEAH!
