Just one Premier League game tonight (and the first of our doubles), but we’d thought we’d open the Dugout Discussion as it coincides with the return of European football. I’m guessing nothing less than a Birmingham City clean sheet will be warmly received on these parts, but hopefully an entertaining game in Italy will ease our pain if that doesn’t come to fruition.

The lineups from St. Andrews are in…

Birmingham XI: Foster, Carr, Johnson, Jiranek, Ridgewell, Larsson, Ferguson, Gardner, Bentley, Martins, Zigic

Newcastle XI: Harper, Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Barton, Tiote, Nolan, Gutierrez, Lovenkrands, Best

So Obafemi Martins starts against his former club, and partners Nikola Zigic up front for the home side.

Elsewhere, Mario Balotelli returned for Man City as a substitute as they drew in Greece, and Rafael Van der Vaart makes a return to Spurs’ starting line-upin the San Siro.

        He is ok. I wouldnt put him down as one for knowing the game. He certainly has alot of stories about certain players since he just retired by i would never peg him for knowing the game well.

        He just isnt as bad as the average dross cliche ridden ex footballer. Nothing special for me.

            Yes ive followed him for a while. He has been working on radio for over year now. Setanta dont really have any good pundits anyway. Certainly wouldnt say being the best of that bunch sets him up as the best in the biz.

            Pretty much all ex pros are terrible pundits. There only there cos they played the game - obvious I know - but their knowledge is terrible on the whole. Of course there are exceptions. But very very few
