Tottenham Hotspur have this evening announced the tentative rescheduling of their big North London derby clash with Arsenal. The fixture is now currently set to take place on Wednesday April 20, alongside the recently realigned Chelsea vs Birmingham game, putting it firmly into gameweek 33 territory…

This gives both teams rather important gameweeks, as Spurs travel to Champions League rivals Man City and Arsenal host a resurgent Liverpool side, prior to their own midweek clash.

In the long-term, Spurs see this game drop into a relatively kind close to the season (wig, STK, mcy/ARS, WBA, che), while Arsenal have this double land just as their fixtures begin to stiffen (BLA, bpl, LIV/tot, bol, MUN).

Fantasy Managers will need to plan and calibrate just how they will clip their squads ahead of gameweek 28, which has both Arsenal and Spurs facing blank fixtures, now that this new double has been announced.

The slight caveat here inevitably revolves around the FA Cup. If Arsenal can get beyond Leyton Orient next week, and then the considerably more troubling trip to Old Trafford that would follow, their gameweek 33 encounter with Liverpool would take a back-seat to a later date to allow for another Wembley visit.

After already being knocked out of the FA Cup in the earlier rounds by Fulham, Spurs will face no such worries and will have their two gameweek fixtures, unless of course Man City (who they play in their first gameweek 33 fixture) make progres to the last four. It’s complicated.

Our Season Tickers will be updated shortly to reflect this evening’s announcement.

Nah, I want to bring him in, but I'm prepared to wait to see if he is actually fit to play.

I'd rather lose £0.1M than bring him in and he doesn't play. Especially as I won't have a sub to come in for him.

    Ok, so heres my situation:

I can get Cahill for Fabregas for free, and in doing so, field 11. This also allows me to get rid of Nolan for Young/Silva/VDV the week after, and even THAT transfer still leaves me the cash to do Odem to Rooney, considering how friggin horrible Odem's fixtures are.

But then I got to thinking maybe I should take a 4 point hit to get Rooney in for Odem. I have grown to hate taking hits, but its for a two guys who have doubles either htis week or next, and helps me get ahead in getting rid of Odem and STILL having enough money to trade out Nolan for Young/Silva/VDV. People say Rooney's fixtures aren't good, but hes got a double this week, and after one tough week at Liverpool, its five really nice looking games.

    So...is the hit worth it?

    Robinson FOSTER
    Vidic Coleman Huth KELLY CARR
    Young Nani ADAM FABREGAS VDV
    Odemwingie Suarez Tevez

Kelly is doubtful after coming off with a knock. didn’t see him play but does he look likely to be back for the weekend, anyone watching the game?

If he can play, I can do Fabregas to Cahill/Arteta/Meireles…
without a hit, but that would mean no sub coming on if kelly doesnt play.

    Opinions?...

In terms of formation, but the front four are all genuine attackers instead of Kolarov being left wing or Yaya being AM. Looks pretty offensive with those four I must say.

8 or 4 point hit. Opinions please..

    4 pint hit for

    Begovic

    Rafael Koralov Huth Coleman (RJ)

    Barton Nani Silva (Adam Bentley)

    Dudley Rooney Tevez

Or take the extra hit to bring in Young/Downing for Adam

    I just can't decide.

On the face of it Young/Downing are unlikely to score 4 more than Huth/Coleman, suggesting a four point hit is the right call. However, with 4 midfielders I am less vulnerable to potential rotation of one of my defenders.

    Cheers folks

I am in a similar position myself and am opting for the 8 point hit simply because Adam is unplayable for the next 2 GWs and I prefer to set my team up now for the next 3 weeks. I fear if another midfielder gets injured I will be back to square one again. Take the pain now and look at the additional 4 points over a 3 weeks period, what does good look like at the end of GW30, then you have time for DGW33...

Apologises for the repost but I seem to have developed a knack of posting just as a thread dies ... 🙁

Some opinions from you experts would be gratefully received. 😉

Already done RVP OUT Tevez IN as my freebie. Haven’t taken a hit since GW20 (I’m clean!) and gained 668k places. Still shite ranking (681k) compared to most of you guys but first season so I’m still learning.

    Team for the week:

    Myhill
    Coleman Simpson Bardsley Huth
    A.Young Nani Brunt
    Odemwingie Berbatov Tevez(c)

    Subs: Foster Samba Fabregas Adam

    1. Myhill – I always play Foster so won’t take a hit for a ‘better’ GK for one GW.
    2. Bardsley v. Samba. Both away and both will concede but I prefer a FB to a CB as attacking potential.
    3. Nothing else lights my fire (Rooney, Cahill, Saha IN etc) for the DGWs as it’ll just balls up the team for the rest of the season.
    4. I have 12 players available whilst others are taking 12pt hits just to field 11.
    5. It’s not the best team in the world but I reckon I’ll just go with it.

Or have I missed something glaringly obvious?
