Gameweek 29 is brought to a close with Everton and Birmingham slugging out their second fixtures of the week at Goodison. Down at the Lane meanwhile, Spurs host AC Milan in their Champions League second leg with a 1-0 advantage from the San Siro. Eyes and ears might well be drawn to North London tonight then, but the minds of Fantasy Managers will surely also be turning to events on Merseyside as David Moyes’ side look to build on the 2-1 win at St James’ Park at the weekend.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for those wishing to indulge in some real-time opinion slinging on tonight’s events.

We had an anxious wait on Nikola Zigic’s groin – I never really thought I’d ever by typing that for all kinds of reasons. The news is that the “Serbian Skyscraper” misses out – he’s got to tuck his legs up on the Birmingham bench once more. Presumably Zigic is fit enough to play some part, but Alex McLeish appears to have opted for a 4-5-1 with his starting lineup. He makes three changes – Seb Larsson is brought back into the midfield, along with Jordon Mutch – Keith Fahey and Obafemi Martins drop out. Martin Jiránek comes in for Curtis Davies at the back.

As for the home side, they bring in Johnny Heitinga for hamstring victim Phil Neville and presumably the Dutchman will sit in the Everton midfield holding role. Seamus Coleman is on the bench again then. In better news for Fantasy Managers, Rafael Van der Vaart starts for Spurs tonight.

Here’s the full lineups from Goodison:

Everton XI: Howard; Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Osman, Heitinga, Rodwell, Arteta; Beckford, Saha.

Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Jiranek, Ridgewell; Larsson, Bowyer, Mutch, Bentley, Beausejour; Jerome.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Well after a terrible gameweek, I was lucky to come out with a reasonable 30 points, considering how awful my team played. Never going to win my mini league with this luck.

Tempted to get rid of Zigic now for Suarez or Ba

I tell you what - there were many points in this game where they did park it - and it worked great. Crouch did his job up front - if Wenger would only see how its done, he would have known that chamakh or bendtner wouldve been better tactically to start than vam persie, as wouldve giggs instead of rosicky.

I disagree that would have been the right thing to do but i don't think Wenger got it right last night. Maybe onto something wwith Starting Bendtner, bring on RVP if they needed a goal later on.

Wenger, as much as i love him, is tactically naive. There is just a total lack of plan b, which is okay if they're on their game - unless they come up against Barca!

In reply to 'who is a must have'

-- well chelsea have 5 home in the next 7, and a dgw so you need chelsea. will luiz be first choice? dunno, ivanovic should play right back but he said he'd leave if he is rb and not cb. so must have from chelsea - fat frank, maybe cech or terry or actually even a.cole

-- erm spurs fixtures look good, so vdv i think, they have 10 days til their next game so he shouldnt get injured on his sofa

-- arsenal have hihg scoring games to come and a dw. walcott is coming for me in gw 31,rvp should play as well. fabs is well expensive so dunno about that

plus carroll is back and suarez looks pretty damn awesome, also in terms of points - a poacher, with a lot of shots on target maybe and will never assist the assist

Aye. It's almost ridiculous we are top of the league. All based on the solid defence i reckon, as soon as Rio got injured and Vidic banned it all fell to pieces very quickly indeed. The defence was masking the midfield troubles imo.

I wouldn't sell Nani, but then I bought him really early on when he was only £8m so if I sold him now I'd never be able to get him back.

You bought him when he was £9.4m so you stand to lose less.

      Superb.

This is why I paid extra to have Johnson rather than Carr.

Thank god this gameweek is over. Out of the fantasy cup, out of the Millionaire Club, out of the FFS cup. Lost all my head-to-heads... A disaster.

Same torrent of crapness this GW, but RJ's 3 bonus just won my head to head.
