The Swiss FA have given Arsene Wenger and Fantasy Managers new hope after announcing that Johan Djourou could return from injury within two weeks. After previously being ruled out for the season with a dislocated shoulder, suffered in the FA Cup loss to Manchester United, the defender who has been key to Arsenal may make a shock return.

The Swiss FA are hopeful that the defender may be fit for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria on March 26. Their statement reads:

“The shoulder injury to Johan Djourou is less serious than feared on Saturday and announced by the coach of his club. The Arsenal defender and member of the Switzerland national team was submitted to thorough medical examinations on Monday. At the end of a long exhausting day, Johan Djourou had new hope that…. his season is not over yet.”

It is reported that Djourou has not suffered any fractures or bone injuries and the ligaments strained during the dislocation of the shoulder do not seem to be seriously damaged. The central defender will await the detailed assessments of a medical examination he underwent on Monday. If Djourou does return, he could be back for the Gameweek 31 fixture on 2 April against Blackburn.

Arsenal have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 9 Premier League fixtures that Djourou has played in. So far this season, in the games in which Djourou has featured, the Gunners have won 13 out of 16 and drawn the other 3. Valued at just 4.4 on the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, Djourou has been a bargain buy for many Fantasy Managers. With stats like these, a possible return will be a huge boost for Arsenal Football Club and his FPL owners.

In the meantime, Laurent Koscielny will be partnered by the Sébastien Squillaci who has been less than impressive in his time at the Emirates. The Gunners are also linked with a short-term move for veteran former goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, who will be back-up to Manuel Almunia with Lukasz Fabiański and Wojciech Szczęsny ruled out with long-term injuries.

It is expected that Arsenal will make an official comment on the players condition in the next few days and the player may reveal more through his Twitter account.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Quick few opinions gents, if you had a lead of 220+ points ahead of your rival in a mini-league but had at least 4 players in your team that needed to come out but it meant taking a 12 point hit. Would you go for it?

The words 'our' and 'we' should only be used by supporters of a club, you are just some plum that likes football and have decided to cling to the success brought in by Manchester United FC.

You, Akers, AP, Boom etc have no right to revel in the clubs success just because you watch them on TV.

I never speak nonsense ;). And this isnt nonsense.

But in all honesty it "could" hold life if anywhere "could" possibly in our Solar system. Not that "hello im ET!"
Due to the huge gravitational pull of Jupiter , Europa a bloc of ice is stretched and this pressure on it leads many to believe the ice deep below the surface is liquid water. More water than here. And in the next few decades some robots will be going exploring it.

Im cutting back on the essays honest. 😉

The number of basic defending he does properly given his huge lack of experience is very promising methinks. Taking big steps in a short space of time. Rio's a crock now, Smalling will fill his boots no bother. Steve McClaren seems to agree with me though so I may be talking bollocks.

I have seven episodes of Boardwalk Empire on HD Drive but heard today that it's not actually any good and not a patch on Soprano's! True or false, watch or delete?

watch the sh*t out of it! Very good, loved the Sopranos, but it is a different beast, Steve Buscemi is like a magnet, can't take your eyes off him!

ive seen first six episodes of boardwalk and i love it. I think its building up and will take time for characters to develop. Al Capone is still a nobody, will be quality watching him take over. deffinetley stick with it. Soprano's was the best series ever made btw...

What do you guys think about bringing in Bale? Think he will play 60 minutes over the next few weeks with not fully fit and Champions League coming up? I would swap him for Kolarov

bit too hit and miss with bale, would rather do young or downing personally, especially considering fixtures..

syd is right. It all came from some fool at MUTV who interpreted that as Vidic being out for three weeks. The mirror consider that confirmation and hey instant story.

Fergie made reference to Johnny Evans training and being available for the weekend - the cleansheet looks dodgy already. Maybe the ideal time to get rid of Vidic...
