The Swiss FA have given Arsene Wenger and Fantasy Managers new hope after announcing that Johan Djourou could return from injury within two weeks. After previously being ruled out for the season with a dislocated shoulder, suffered in the FA Cup loss to Manchester United, the defender who has been key to Arsenal may make a shock return.

The Swiss FA are hopeful that the defender may be fit for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria on March 26. Their statement reads:

“The shoulder injury to Johan Djourou is less serious than feared on Saturday and announced by the coach of his club. The Arsenal defender and member of the Switzerland national team was submitted to thorough medical examinations on Monday. At the end of a long exhausting day, Johan Djourou had new hope that…. his season is not over yet.”

It is reported that Djourou has not suffered any fractures or bone injuries and the ligaments strained during the dislocation of the shoulder do not seem to be seriously damaged. The central defender will await the detailed assessments of a medical examination he underwent on Monday. If Djourou does return, he could be back for the Gameweek 31 fixture on 2 April against Blackburn.

Arsenal have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 9 Premier League fixtures that Djourou has played in. So far this season, in the games in which Djourou has featured, the Gunners have won 13 out of 16 and drawn the other 3. Valued at just 4.4 on the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, Djourou has been a bargain buy for many Fantasy Managers. With stats like these, a possible return will be a huge boost for Arsenal Football Club and his FPL owners.

In the meantime, Laurent Koscielny will be partnered by the Sébastien Squillaci who has been less than impressive in his time at the Emirates. The Gunners are also linked with a short-term move for veteran former goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, who will be back-up to Manuel Almunia with Lukasz Fabiański and Wojciech Szczęsny ruled out with long-term injuries.

It is expected that Arsenal will make an official comment on the players condition in the next few days and the player may reveal more through his Twitter account.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

      Hard to tell.

And yes, I appreciate just how useless this post is! I'd wait a couple of weeks to make the move though, that way we'll have a much better idea of how Carlo wants to use the centre-backs at his disposal, and Chelsea's next two fixtures - MCY stk - aren't exactly brilliant anyway. No rush to bring him in.

Ah yes, i will definately wait.

Have a certain Kolorov in my team and looking for a consistent replacement at a similar value. With Chelsea's run of fixtures they are hard to ignore

I'd give Kolarov one more game, the home one against Sunderland, and then get rid after that.

Odds on Marseille have been slashed _A LOT_ since team news broke.

I'm going to join the Marseille-wagon on this one. United will still be favourites of course but there is no way United are winning 6 games out of 7 with that team. I'm not trying to wind people up but that defence is likely to concede the away goal.

They are slashed because heavy loads of money have gone onto Marseille. The general punter probably expected Vidic to play.

To be honest the answer you guys gave me earlier today included a quote that Vidic was expected to start, and you're fans of the club.

Uniteds home form is too good to bet against imo. Also, marseille hardly created any chances during their home leg. But i suppose in European Cup 2nd legs anything can happen, it can be very unpredictable sometimes.

I have to admit that I am definitely not feeling confident at all with tonight's game. We'll certainly lose if we play the we have been playing recently in the big games. So we must get off on the front foot and take it to Marseille and play in their half as much as possible atleast trying to put less pressure on our center backs.

Hate this attitude. Hate even more the people who think that you have to always support the English team.

The only reason I would want Utd to qualify is so they have to play more games and it affects their league campaign.

It also comes with the fact that your team is dominating Europe. Most people from countries outside the top4 countries or so in Europe would hope any team from their own country did well.
