After the feast of yesterday’s eight fixtures we’ve got a relative famine this afternoon as we have just two games to sate our fantasy appetite this Sunday afternoon.

The Dugout Discussion swings open it’s doors once again as the two English sides knocked out of the Europa League in midweek are left to pick themselves back up and dust themselves down, starting with Liverpool at Sunderland.

The News from the Stadium of Light sees Danny Welbeck coming for Steed Malbranque as he makes his first start in over two months following a knee injury. Kenny Dalglish meanwhile gives Andy Carroll his first Premier League start in a Liverpool shirt as he (and Jay Spearing) come into the Liverpool side. The full teams are…

Sunderland XI: Mignolet; Bardsley, Bramble, Mensah, Ferdinand; Sessegnon, Henderson, Muntari, Richardson; Welbeck, Gyan

Liverpool XI: Reina; Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson; Spearing, Lucas; Kuyt, Meireles, Suarez; Carroll

After Asamoah Gyan and Luis Suarez have had time to think back on their long hot summer together we’ll be capital bound to close out the season as Chelsea host Man City as the two sides scrap for continued points in the fight for the Champions League spaces. With talk that Tevez may very well have undertaken a late fitness test on his groin plenty of managers will be hotly anticipating the results – especially those vicarious enough to hand him their fantasy armband.

The chatroom will be open through all the action as the Dugout Discussion is here to close out the last gameweek of the month.

🙂 I haven't even checked, but from memory, both my opponents had more than enough scoring players to beat 55.

And neither of them were daft enough to captain Lennon.

Gah, just put Luiz and Carroll in - i've gone all season being fairly prudent and the last few weeks i've just been taking hits like it's nothing.

Probably going to wildcard this week anyway but i keep thinking i should save it for a week when i have more than 4/5 transfers i want to make.

Huth is in your team for his ability to score, not keep cleanies. Fixtures don't change is ability to score at any time in any game.

Kolarov is a waste of space. Plays in a top 6 defence and still gets you no more than 1pt a game. He's the Boselli of the defensive world.

What a ridiculous thing to say?!

You are more likely to score against a team that can't defend than a team that can. You think Chelsea are just as likely to concede four as Newcastle?

Hart a waste of space too? OMG he dropped 5 points in ten minutes today etc. People are blinded by it because it's been such a talked about thing on this site, today the odds were always against him getting a good score.

Personally I think you should go for Djourou. He's potentially dead wood and whilst Stoke's fixtures look shite Huth really is at the fore front of what they do.
You're not scared to take a hit looking at your history so I would bump Djourou and A.Young.

I've got a big enough lead in my league to make a few decisions that i doubt will pay off. I don't think he is the best option by a long shot but there has been too much banter with one of my workmates that it would be a massive admission of failure to not back him now.

Bad luck mate. Lampard should have got the Luiz assist. 53 should be ok for the Mill Club at least.

He's absolutely failed to live up to his potential, his point scoring hasn't been close to what it should have been but in terms of potential (emphasis on that) i still think he is one of the best options around.

Malouda gets far more involved and along with Cole is always busy on the left.

no both, only a couple of weeks ago. Was getting a bit tired of it, and hadnt really had any mega weeks (but i had one). was just drifting out of it is all. got taken back a peg by luiz who he has (such a jammy git he is) when i had Ivan, who so easily could have scored.

anyway, i have him on the run- he's starting to copy my team, got two players in i have before the deadline he's trying rope a dope, to defend a lead...its gonna end in tears for the f**ker

Think Chelsea should've used Luiz in the Champs league instead of Torres?

People actually had Adam on the bench? Okay but not everyone out of the 32% who own him. The rest would have to have Luiz/Kuyt or Chelsea & Pool defenders. Just that it is confounding

Chelsea players have a very high ownership percentage. The ave score always rises a lot after their games are added.

Don't forget the (at this point) massive amounts of people who haven't touched their team for ages so probably have a few players that didn't feature in their 11 - i.e. more points off the bench

The trick is to bring in players that you're happy to have as bench fodder, otherwise you're hair will turn white before its time
