After the feast of yesterday’s eight fixtures we’ve got a relative famine this afternoon as we have just two games to sate our fantasy appetite this Sunday afternoon.

The Dugout Discussion swings open it’s doors once again as the two English sides knocked out of the Europa League in midweek are left to pick themselves back up and dust themselves down, starting with Liverpool at Sunderland.

The News from the Stadium of Light sees Danny Welbeck coming for Steed Malbranque as he makes his first start in over two months following a knee injury. Kenny Dalglish meanwhile gives Andy Carroll his first Premier League start in a Liverpool shirt as he (and Jay Spearing) come into the Liverpool side. The full teams are…

Sunderland XI: Mignolet; Bardsley, Bramble, Mensah, Ferdinand; Sessegnon, Henderson, Muntari, Richardson; Welbeck, Gyan

Liverpool XI: Reina; Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson; Spearing, Lucas; Kuyt, Meireles, Suarez; Carroll

After Asamoah Gyan and Luis Suarez have had time to think back on their long hot summer together we’ll be capital bound to close out the season as Chelsea host Man City as the two sides scrap for continued points in the fight for the Champions League spaces. With talk that Tevez may very well have undertaken a late fitness test on his groin plenty of managers will be hotly anticipating the results – especially those vicarious enough to hand him their fantasy armband.

The chatroom will be open through all the action as the Dugout Discussion is here to close out the last gameweek of the month.

Its obvious there is alot of needle in that squad.

It's been absolutely fascinating watching two of the modern England greats slugging it out in midfield today. Hard to say which one has shaded it, but I'd personally say that Lampard's freekick swings it in his favour. Only just though, Milner's dribbling has been fairly excellent.

Looking back, it's fairly hilarious how people actually thought we had a chance of winning the World Cup with these two in our midfield.

Just a bit. Lampard's long shots are painful to watch. So selfish and when he was offside but one-on-one from a tight angle he shot instead of squaring it to Torres for a tap in.

Hate this game sometimes. Gap up to the leader in my mini league has grown from 10 to 80 since Christmas. The person behind me has closed the gap with almost 100 points in the same period. Have given up on the leader and is just focused on maintaining #2 to get the 300 pounds in prize money. This week the #3 in the league went on a trip and could not fix his team. But what the hell, he took 20 more points on me and is now only 1 point behind(he is getting Nani in as Captain since Tevez aint playing).

Serously considering taking hits like hell now, but that is probably just the frustration talking.

So now the rant is over. What I need help with is:

Thinking about transfering Shawcross, Berbatov and Meireles out for Kyle Walker, Lampard and a cheap striker. But I currently I am not having Adam in my team, and he did some serious damage on me this round. Is it stupid not to have him? Really want to get Lampard in before gw.33 and if I am to get Adam aswell, I would have to take atleast one hit (if i transfer out Nasri or Nani, but really don't wanna lose them) or two hits if I transfer out Barton + downgrade a defender to get the founds. Worth it?

Thanks if anyone bothered to read the wall of text.

Team atm is(yeah, I got some problems):

        Howard - Al-Habsi

Shawcross - Baird - Djourou(heard he might be back soon) R.Johnson - Evatt (yeah I know, but haven't really gotten around to get rid of him, since losing him won't give me the founds I need)

        VDV - Nani - Nasri - Barton - Meireles

        RVP - Rooney - Berba

Original plan is: Shawcross -> Walker next round. Then no transfers, and Berba -> 5.6 striker or cheaper and Meireles-> Lamps before gw 33.
If I wanna get Adam in for Barton I would have to either transfer VDV, Nasri or Nani out for a hit, or downgrade a defender and transfer Barton-> Adam for two hits, or get a REALLY cheap striker inn for Berba and do Barton-> Adam for one hit. Opinions?

80 points is not unsurmountable if you are clever and lucky...never do a transfer without considering your rivals players...be unpredictable i.e. do zero transfers one week and four the next...make sure your cheap players are rock-solid starters so you can concentrate your transfers on the expensive guys...get different players from the guy who is beating you...you need to avoid his good players and hope for luck with those you choose...at the same time if the guy close to you has good players who also have good fixtures then cover them as best you can...swallow hard...trust to luck and MOST IMPORTANT...don't listen to me

Thanks for the input. And I agree, need some different players from the one I am chasing. But the problem is that the one closing inn on me is having a similar team to the one infront of me. So It's a problem. Cosnidering taking one hit before gw.33 to get Adam, Lampard, Walker and a friggin cheap striker inn for Berbatov, Meireles, Shawcross and Barton. Just have to hope that my rivals keep Berba and stays away from Lampard. And that Lampard hits his fantasy potential 🙂

that's why i wanted your link but i understand why you might not want to give it...one more thing, if the guy close to you has a Samba (say) get Jones (say) so you have more cash available elsewhere while covering his clean sheet

                good luck anyway

Those moves all look good to me, presumably you're spreading them over a few weeks to reduce hits? There's two weeks before the next deadline though, so I would wait before making any changes.
