According to quotes from Louis Saha, his season in Everton colours could well be over. The Everton striker was forced off late on against Fulham with an ankle injury on Saturday, having notched his tenth goal of the season in the second-half. That was his ninth strike since the turn of the year. Once again however, Saha’s momentum appears to have hit the skids thanks to an injury setback – the Frenchman landed awkwardly while contesting an aerial ball in the 2-1 win; the fear is that he may have damaged ankle ligaments.

Saha is apparently due to have scans on Friday but, in an interview with L’Equipe, the striker was more than a little pessimistic on his prospects…

“I am on crutches at the moment…I am not well. Am I going to be out for days, weeks, months? I do not know. But it will be difficult to play again by the end of the season.â€

Everton have yet to officially confirm the prognosis but we should expect more information by tomorrow. If Saha is indeed sidelined, it will leave David Moyes with just Jermaine Beckford available as a recognised striker. With Marouane Fellaini already out for the rest of the season and Mikel Arteta reportedly out until mid-April, Moyes’ resources are looking badly stretched.

For us Fantasy Managers the news of Saha’s absence will likely promote Tim Cahill in our thinking. The Aussie has himself only just returned from his own ankle problems but, having regained fitness, he will now likely face the burden of being asked to score the goals to continue Everton’s ascent up the table.

Moyes has already turned to Cahill to lead his attack earlier in the season. The Fantasy Premier League midfielder, priced at 8.9, has registered 9 goals and 4 assists to this point but has not completed 90 minutes since gameweek 27 – his last league goal was way back in December in the gameweek 18 win at Man City . Even so, the prospect of Cahill leading the line for the Toffees will spark further interest from Fantasy Managers, particularly as Everton are currently the league’s form side.

David Moyes’ outfit have won 4 of the last 6, scoring 12 goals in the process. Everton’s immediate run of opponents suggests that further returns could be in the offing – they take on a beleaguered Aston Villa in gameweek 31, followed by a trip to Wolves and another Goodison clash with Blackburn in gameweek 33. Goals will be expected to arrive across those three matches, with Cahill seemingly best placed to be amongst them.

Cahill is currently away with the Socceroos for their friendly in Germany on March 29. Fantasy Managers will want to see him return intact and in a timely manner in order to consider him for gameweek 31.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

And I reckon admitting to depression is marginally better than, say, killing someone (Navjot Singh Sidhu) or being remembered as one of the biggest cheats in the game (Mohammad Azharuddin).

A bit early but I am sooooooo bored. How does my team look for next week? I'm thinking of saving my transfers so I have two freebies to get Chelsea players in the following week?

    Foster
    Coleman, R Johnson, Walker
    Nani, Nasri, Barton, Adam
    Rooney, Tevez, Van Persie

    Begovic, A Young, Huth, Djourou.

I'm considering Bardsley in for Djourou.

Don't want to invest in Sunderland's attack for their run of fixtures as goals have dried up but I still fancy them for some cleanies. Quite fancy them at Man City too.

    CRICKET

    This may sound daft but...

Bopara or Strauss for my fantasy team? If neither of those two, which batsman for 90k would you buy (got Trott, Guptill and Amla already)?

Both are classed as batsmen even though you could consider Bopara to be an all-rounder.

Arsenal defence I wouldn't touch atm, go with rvp, narsi, Theo, cesc from arsenal. Or lamps for chelski (especially if you already have luiz)

See you don't have much chance of bringing the big guns in your midfield, so I'd transfer tevez out for rvp. But obviously gw33 and not before.

I don't know that Arsenal's dgw is that worthy of loading up on actually.

Not sure there's a lot of fantasy points there other than Fabs and Van Persie.

I have Nasri and RVP but I'm selling Nasri for Adam. I think people loading up on Arsenal for the sake of it are going to be disappointed.

2 of Lamps, Luiz, Cech, Cole and Terry are the best to have along with VdV or Bale and RVP and/or Fabs, imo.

We should be beating pakistani..hopefully.. however, its Sri lanka that worries us. they have better bowlers than us both in spin and fast department.

u call us chokers ??? did we choke today ??? had u seen the match, you would have noticed Shaun Tait giving 4's on wides under pressure.. bret lee being slammed for six over his head in dying overs.

i just hope afridi does not back in form as Ponting came in today.Mohali is a batsman paradise by the way.

Tip: in sub-continent matches chose players based on pitch for next day 😀

Did you see the play school run out? Had Yuvraj skied that sweep shot to a fieldsman we wouldn't be having this discussion. Australia & spin don't mix unless Warne play. Tait is a 20-20 player at best, bigger matches for choking to occur.

I think it was good cricket over all..! India is back and showing some fielding skill and blowing (both getting little better). Honestly, there is enough luck to win any game, today the luck was Yuvraj.

Pak has good blowing which India lacks, so hope the semi's will be good show 'Indian Batters & Pak bowlers'

One quiz question, then I'm off:

Name the six players who have made a hundred or more international appearances for Germany (for the purposes of this question, I mean either West Germany or united Germany).

(There are also three players who have gained 100 international caps if you include appearances for the former East Germany / GDR. Bonus marks for any of them.)

          Korrekt! It was Ulf Kirsten.

You could add Hans-Jürgen 'Dixie' Dörner and Joachim Streich to the list, as they both arguably made 100 appearances for East Germany (although this depends on whether you count Olympic appearances or not - the German F.A. does, FIFA doesn't).

Yeah he got a lot of transfers wrong but the majority of the best players we've had over the last few years have come through him. Even Ferguson has had his fair share of flops. I just feel he got a bit too caught up in the power of control battle and lost his way a bit. He was absolutely brilliant for valencia and for the majority of his time at anfield. 2 cl finals, 2pts off winning the league and a few yrs of good scoring and excellent defending. And he got Djimi Traore a champions league medal.

I think when we played valencia and got an absolute master class in passin and got played off the park was when he was earmarked.

That's more of a credit to Valencia and not the X and O's man. He had little to no power at Valencia, except picking the team and making subs.

There's a deference between someone who is only allowed to pick the team, and a manager who is allowed to recruit the type of players that HE wants and PICK the team.

            lol traore, nice one.

And again, not trying to start off an obnoxious plastic Manc v. Scouser war, it just seems his roation choices alone cost the team much-needed points at critical times.

And weren't the majority of great players there before him? You'd be glad for him to return?

Just wondering a 'Poolie view ...

No way man KK for me.

Kuyt, Agger, Reina, Alonso, Torres, Garcia (fantastic for CL), up and coming Pacheco, Ayala, Suso

      Hahaah, agreed 100%

The fat waiter keeps telling everyone who'll listen how badly he wants to manage Liverpool again.

This man took a club of decent players and turned them in to underachievers every season, and then managed to sell the players who were actually overachieving! Never mind, what he almost did to the defending club champion, this season

Ah that's ridiculous. The team he took over was atrocious and he improved us every season until his meltdown

I know that I'm beating a dead horse with him, but every time I see him play or even see his name, I can't help but think about this article:

so rvp's gone up by 11% today so itll prob be 14% by the end of the day leaving him just off 50% so we're looking at 3-4 days before he rises

might just make it past tuesdays game if people slow down a bit and realise theres another week til prem games

Who else is looking to rise/fall again before the international games? I can see who's gone up but not by how much so don't know if they are slowly going up or quickly.
