The second day of a Gameweek that stretches across three, presents us with a double-bill of meaningful Premier League fixtures. First up we’re at Bloomfield Road to see if Arsenal can keep up the pace with league leaders against a plucky Blackpool side. The hosts are in the middle of an intriguing relegation battle, and will be desperate to build some confidence at home as they begin a four-game home stint. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for business, where you can follow the action as it happens.

The team news is in and here is how they line-up…

Blackpool XI: Kingson, Baptiste, Evatt, Cathcart, Crainey, Adam, Southern, Taylor-Fletcher, Puncheon, Campbell, Varney

Arsenal XI: Lehmann, Eboue, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy, Diaby, Fabregas, Wilshere, Nasri, van Persie, Arshavin

The Seasiders welcome back their star striker DJ Campbell from suspension, who will be raring to go having missed the last three. The only deviation from the eleven we expected is that Keith Southern starts at the expense of Elliot Grandin.

As for the visitors, Arsene Wegner opts to leave Theo Walcott on the bench despite the damage he inflicted on Blackpool at the Emirates. Bacary Sagna isn’t passed fit so Emmanuel Eboue starts at right-back, and a late injury in the warm-up for Manuel Almunia sees Jens Lehmann come in. What a story.

Following that game, Aston Villa are also seeking survival (and revenge for the reverse fixture this season) against their opponents today . Newcastle United are so close to that widely-regarded safety-mark of 40 points, so we should expect both sides to be going for the points.

Once again, the Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and available by clicking here.

    Right...

    A. Kolarov to Terry or
    B. Coleman to Ivanovic or
    C. VdV and Nasri to Lamps and Jarvis.

Concerned with Ivanovic rotation, but also losing Kolarov with good Man City fixs coming up, and also buggering so much with midfield. Already have Luiz.

    Thanks!

I've had a good one ...or so I thought!

My miniscule betting on the ponies gave me profit from a 5th placer, I had Rory McIlroy going into the last day and my Ubecha team has Dirk Kuyt +22 points versus their Silva, Yaya & Tevez tomorrow for first place.

If tonight is anything to go by Man City will absolutely tonk Liverpool tomorrow.

I can definitely see a city win tomorrow- they just have a lot more to play for than liverpool.

I think I'll just stick to the accies tbh- it's so difficult to win real money by straight up betting- plus it'll give me a reason to watch such classics as Blackburn V Birmingham..... 😉

Yes, that's what I [normally] do.

My heart cannot stand the tension of 'low' odds betting - too much at stake for not near enough returns. I'll continue with my long shot 100+/1 accumulators each week and hope, one day, it pays of.

If not... I'm down a pound as I rightly should be.

Think I've made my mind up, VDV gets shipped out for Charlie Adam.
    The other options were
    Young - fixtures too good
Nani - everyone I'm chasing owns him so if he does well I'd suffer
    Nasri - DGW up next.
basically the biggest worry I have is that VDV does really well in the WBA game, however they are playing well so he might have another quiet one. I also think he's looking a bit knackered (though I didn't see the game this wkd) so could be safe enough to ditch.
    Right decision?

If VDV plays 90 mins against Real Madrid I would do as he will probably get injured or become doubtful at some point. Young has good fixtures but now he is back on the wing doesnt look as good as he did when he played behind Bent. Nani makes me worry as he was benched against Chelsea, makes him a rotation risk for me. Why not bring in a DGW player?

Can anyone give me an overview of how Charlie Adam played today? Was he involved, did he look lively, etc?

I have the money set aside to get Barton out for him as my free transfer this week. If he played well I think I'll go with that. Nice home games coming up.

I could spend the transfer elsewhere, getting Carr in defence maybe.
