The second day of a Gameweek that stretches across three, presents us with a double-bill of meaningful Premier League fixtures. First up we’re at Bloomfield Road to see if Arsenal can keep up the pace with league leaders against a plucky Blackpool side. The hosts are in the middle of an intriguing relegation battle, and will be desperate to build some confidence at home as they begin a four-game home stint. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for business, where you can follow the action as it happens.

The team news is in and here is how they line-up…

Blackpool XI: Kingson, Baptiste, Evatt, Cathcart, Crainey, Adam, Southern, Taylor-Fletcher, Puncheon, Campbell, Varney

Arsenal XI: Lehmann, Eboue, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy, Diaby, Fabregas, Wilshere, Nasri, van Persie, Arshavin

The Seasiders welcome back their star striker DJ Campbell from suspension, who will be raring to go having missed the last three. The only deviation from the eleven we expected is that Keith Southern starts at the expense of Elliot Grandin.

As for the visitors, Arsene Wegner opts to leave Theo Walcott on the bench despite the damage he inflicted on Blackpool at the Emirates. Bacary Sagna isn’t passed fit so Emmanuel Eboue starts at right-back, and a late injury in the warm-up for Manuel Almunia sees Jens Lehmann come in. What a story.

Following that game, Aston Villa are also seeking survival (and revenge for the reverse fixture this season) against their opponents today . Newcastle United are so close to that widely-regarded safety-mark of 40 points, so we should expect both sides to be going for the points.

Once again, the Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and available by clicking here.

Think the young man finished t-15th, so he's in next year with an exemption. Some consolation, plus the experience. At least he didn't pick Lampard too early- lol.

Back to the football. Need to get rid of England's best midfielder and replace with an ultra-cheapie to raise funds.
Barton to ???? Under 4.8m? Ferguson?
Whoever it is, I don't plan to play them in the next three gameweeks anyway but if injury or rotation forces their inclusion in an XI needs to get 2 points and the chance of more. Is Albrighton still a good bet?

Chamakh That, don't feed the beast, Tottenham are formless...form does not apply to them, it is pointless and futile to predict their form. Only a true Crouch stalker would have started him today. I'm afraid to even guess if they'll concede goals (which they almost always do) so I will not speak of it. I treat them like fightclub.

Woah! What a load of massive leaps into bollocksville! Ok first off he is not a caveman. He is from the early - middle bronze age which was a pretty sophisticated society.
Secondly their whole premise is built upon him being buried with grave goods associated with females. There could be a number of explanations for this apart from him being a homosexual - one being that they wanted to 'unman' him in the afterlife, that the burial with 'female' items was an insult. However he could genuinely be homosexual, I imagine that homosexuality has been prevalent throughout human existence.
This 'find' and the hype about it is a classic example of stating you've found something controversial - taking massive leaps in interpretation solely to increase awareness [thus potential funding] for whatever University / unit or whatever.
It's a bit of fun, but poor science.

      Tevez>Jerome.... well

Then there is the 4 point hit.

some scenes are bloodied up so you dont notice that really, not much action takes place at all!

Not suggesting he is a bad player, just don't think he'll do that well FPL wise towards the end. Taking into account the poor fixtures, his below par performances and the fact that he was playing Blackpool today.

Technically, it can't be the truth as you are making a statement about a proposed event that has not happened yet.

It could only be truth if what you were suggesting had already happened. As it stands now, though, we have no means of verifying the accuracy of that statement so it cannot be held as being true.

Not sure I'll be getting on the Adam bandwagon again. I'm sure there will be better value than a 9.0 midfielder sitting on the bench for whichever club (Tottenham) moronically decides to sign him.

Milner scored 184 points last season, and started at 9.0 this season. Adam is currently on 158, and with Blackpool's fixtures could easily finish on a higher total than Milner's from last year.

3 - The number of Manchester United players not nominated for PFA Player of the Year that have been involved in more goals (ex. pens) than ANY nominee.

Goal involvements in the league this season:

    Tevez - 20, VDV - 14, Adam - 10, Bale - 10, Nasri - 10, Parker - 8.

    Nani - 27, Berbatov - 24, Rooney - 21.

Obviously these 'goal involvements' aren't the be all and end all, but they give a pretty decent means of comparison between the three Utd players and the likes of Tevez, VDV, Bale and Nasri. Even I, a self confessed ABU leader, find it farcical that none of those three Utd players have been nominated.

The 'keeper is soon to make a return.
RVP has first dibs on set piece duties.
Nasri out Walcott in would free up funds whistle still having an explosive player capable or bringing in a good points haul.

That & I'm reluctant to spend points.

Fair enough. But Arse aren't really cutting the mustard at the moment. RVP and Theo would be enough for me as their defence is appalling, even without Almunia.

Injuries/bans aside. The only one of the three I could see shifting along is Nasri/Walcott. The 'keeper is just to blasted cheap to kick out.

The problem I have had is holding on to players who are out of form because their price rises mean that I couldn't buy them back if they did hit form again.

It's a bit late in the day to worry about that now, so VDV goes for me next week. Just can't decide who to replace him with though.

Always a tough decision that. Keep the out of form player (especially one is on set piece duties) or dump him. Factor in price fluctuations & it plays havoc with common sense.

If VDV scores big you may well have second thoughts.
