The second day of a Gameweek that stretches across three, presents us with a double-bill of meaningful Premier League fixtures. First up we’re at Bloomfield Road to see if Arsenal can keep up the pace with league leaders against a plucky Blackpool side. The hosts are in the middle of an intriguing relegation battle, and will be desperate to build some confidence at home as they begin a four-game home stint. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for business, where you can follow the action as it happens.

The team news is in and here is how they line-up…

Blackpool XI: Kingson, Baptiste, Evatt, Cathcart, Crainey, Adam, Southern, Taylor-Fletcher, Puncheon, Campbell, Varney

Arsenal XI: Lehmann, Eboue, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy, Diaby, Fabregas, Wilshere, Nasri, van Persie, Arshavin

The Seasiders welcome back their star striker DJ Campbell from suspension, who will be raring to go having missed the last three. The only deviation from the eleven we expected is that Keith Southern starts at the expense of Elliot Grandin.

As for the visitors, Arsene Wegner opts to leave Theo Walcott on the bench despite the damage he inflicted on Blackpool at the Emirates. Bacary Sagna isn’t passed fit so Emmanuel Eboue starts at right-back, and a late injury in the warm-up for Manuel Almunia sees Jens Lehmann come in. What a story.

Following that game, Aston Villa are also seeking survival (and revenge for the reverse fixture this season) against their opponents today . Newcastle United are so close to that widely-regarded safety-mark of 40 points, so we should expect both sides to be going for the points.

Once again, the Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and available by clicking here.

Which pair of transfers looks the better out of:

    A) nani >lampard (no hit)
    B) vdv > lampard and evra > ivanovic (4pt hit)
    C) young > malouda, Coleman > cashley (4pt hit)

    Team at moment is:

    Foster (vds)
    Luiz Coleman djorou (evra, walker)
    Nani vdv nasri adam young
    Rvp zigic (dembele)

Arsenal will never be contenders for the title until they can actually put games away, in the space of 5 minutes they could be 4-0 up or 2-1 up, just so so flaky. RVP should have a goal, Nasri too, and Fabregas could have at least 2 assists, frustrating to watch from a fantasy perspective.

Arsenal are a team of absolute muppets. At 2-0 up they start thinking they're Real Madrid in the 50s and that scoring any goal except 50 pass moves all the way to the goal is beneath them.

Nasri is just bad and still Wenger will take off Arshavin and let that slow, wasteful player be on.

    Rant over.

The kid's got skills and tekkers and a rather brilliant shot, don't get me wrong, but he's been the main culprit of the tippy tappy one-paced, offensively blasé going nowhere football that we resort to at times. Cesc makes things happen.

Arsenal need to score again and score first in the 2nd half because Adam is more than capable of doing something against this Arsenal defence.

If Blackpool make it 2-1 and the crowd gets behind them big style you could see then coming back.

And yeah, it does look like one of those days for RVP. Hopefully he'll grab a brace in the 2nd half and justify those of us who gave him the armband this week.
