There’s just one Premier League fixture this fine Tuesday night, as Manchester United look to strengthen their grip on the title with a visit up to St. James Park and Newcastle United. The Dugout Discussion chatroom has been opened, and offers you a place for your musings as the action unfolds.

As is unfortunately the norm nowadays, there have been one or two differing team sheets for tonight’s game being passed about on Twitter, but this is how they line-up…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Jose Enrique, Barton, Guthrie, Tiote, Gutierrez, Lovenkrands, Ameobi

Man United XI: Van der Sar, O’Shea, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs, Hernandez, Rooney

The home side are as predicted meaning that Tim Krul replaces the injured Steve Harper. Elsewhere, Cheik Tiote comes straight back into the Toon midfield, with banned Kevin Nolan missing out.

As for the visitors, Chris Smalling replacing Rio Ferdinand doesn’t come as a shock given the latter’s recent injury record. Neither is it a surprising that Luis Nani starts at the expense of Antonio Valencia. One piece of team news that does raise an eyebrow is the total omission of Dimitar Berbatov to the United squad, with no late injury news to report of as yet (EDIT: Sir Alex Ferguson says Berbatov “wasn’t feeling great” earlier today and is the reason why he misses out).

Oh, and Wayne Rooney (swear-jar in hand) takes his place alongside Javier Hernandez up front for the Reds.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

I was born in the France and played for my hometown club for 3 years. I then moved to another french club where i won the league. After 4 years there, i went to germany and won the Bundesliga on Numerous occasions, including the champions league.

Just out of interest; there seems to be a quite frequent paradox of people having fantasy players involved in a game, but against the team they support. Does anyone have any good stories about the dream scenario of your fantasy striker scoring a hat-trick in a 4-3 defeat, or that kind of thing?

I had Marcus Bent and Santa cruz about 3 years ago when Wigan and Blackburn played and it finished 5 -3.

Both scored hat tricks. But i benched bent. Fun times.

Fabregas is a bit of a twit to go out and criticise Wenger's ideas in the media imo. Nobody has benefited more from them than him and he's just adding unnecessary pressure by going through the media instead of talking to Wenger instead.

Van Persie does that all the time.

Every time you see Walcott bursting down the right, behind the defence and squaring to RVP, you can bet your life Robin was originally offside. There's no way he could have kept pace with Walcott.

yeah he does. i don't like the rule because a defender can be on the other side of the pitch and play someone onside but if a striker is just 10 metres away from the ball he can be not interfeering. it's crazily unfair on defenders

i like the old simple rule where if you're offside you're offside regardless of who you are, where you are and whether you're interfeering or not. don't see what was wrong with that

Really hate it when that happens at corners, where the ref just blows for a foul to the defending team for no apparent reason. If anything it was Barton that was fouling Hernandez. I just hate that it's accepted by everyone.
