Members’ Paddy Power Cup – Final Results

The Members’ Paddy Power Cup had it’s Grand Final this past Gameweek, where Kippax Kloggers and The Hunt went head-to-head. At stake was a great prize of £150 worth of free bets from sponsors Paddy Power for the winner, with the runner-up having to make do with a consolation prize of £75 worth of free bets. Also in action this week was Zophar and Roostars, competing for the third-place. This is how it all played out…

Kippax Kloggers 114 – 89 The Hunt

On any other week a 25-point winning margin would be considered an absolute drubbing, but Wednesday’s Fantasy points-fest makes the gap a little unfair on The Hunt. The tie did appear all-but-over before the midweek action though, when Kippax Kloggers pulled out well-reserved wildcard, but a strong Florent Malouda showing on that final day secured the win for him, who now sits at a season-high 991st in the world. Congratulations Kippax Kloggers, but please take care of your new trophy better than Sergio Ramos did his.

Zophar 80 – 85 Roostars

Our third-placed play-off was a much tighter affair, and it somewhat highlights how well both our finalists did this week. Roostars has his forward-planning to thank for his victory, as his score of 85 didn’t come after having points spent on transfers deducted.

So, to recap…

  • 1st – Kippax Kloggers
  • 2nd – The Hunt
  • 3rd – Roonstars

Congratulations to all and thanks for taking part, and to our sponsors Paddy Power. There will of course be similar cup competitions for our Members next season in addition to our free non-members Cups. News on how the latest round of our current competition unfolded, together with the latest draw, will follow shortly.

    Re-post (apologies I'm utterly short of ideas this week)

    How can this be improved this week?

    Foster (Kingson)
    Walker / Smalling / Coleman / Luiz / Bardsley
    Adam / Nani / Walcott / N’Zog / Lampard
    Hoilett / RVP / Rooney

    2 million left.

    Pleaseeeeeeeeeee?!!

        Cheers chaps.

        Originally I was going to take out Hoilett for Zamora but I'm short by .1 now.

        Never considered changing my 2nd keeper or even a Liverpool player for that matter - Some good ideas there!

        It's looking like I'm going to have to take a -4 hit for teo moves, ahh this is tricky this week!

    So who's everyone captaining? Think it's common sense just to captain RVP for this one. Lampard's record against West Ham isn't great and RVP has scored in every full away game he has played this season. As for DGW players, not as tempting as usual, bit of a gamble to captain them but then again it could be very profitable.

    What time is the Chelsea press conference on at? I'm one of the idiots who bought Torres instead of Drogba so it would be nice if Carlo let me know if he will start or not.

    Hello,

    I am thinking of doing:
    Nani out --> Silva in
    Zigic out --> Sturridge in
    for a 4 pt hit.

    Does that make sense to you?

    I am afraid that Nani will be a constant doubt until the end of the season due to rest/rotation. And I think that 10 M£ for a player that stays on the bench or plays less than 60 minutes is a waste. In addition, the three next fixtures are not so easy for ManU (EVE, ars, CHE). The two last fictures will be easy, but they might already be champions by then.
    Silva will have a double game week, rather favorable fixtures until the end of the season (bla, WHM, eve, TOT, STK, bol), including a dgw. And Man City will probably be motivated until the end of the season.

    Sturridge is a more straightforward choice: double gameweek (not an easy one though), then favorable fixtures, and he is in the team of the guy behind me in the mini league I am leading.

    So, good or bad idea overall?
