West Brom may seem an unlikely source of end of season Fantasy talent but, form and a batch of favourable fixtures for the Baggies over the final four gameweeks undoubtedly make them well worthy of consideration. Roy Hodgson’s side have hit the 40 point-mark and, while they are mathematically still not clear of relegation from the Premier League, the club’s outstanding recent run of form suggests otherwise.

One defeat in nine matches since Hodgson’s appointment has seen them average two goals per game, a big difference from the previous 31 goals in 25 games under Roberto Di Matteo. Considering they have one clean sheet all season, it’s fair to say West Brom have been reliant on the men up front to fire them to top-flight safety and luckily for Hodgson, he has the services of Peter Odemwingie to rely upon.

Odemwingie has had a dream debut season in the Premier League and with (AVL, wol, EVE, new) still to come, there’s surely some more goals in the Nigerian’s boots between now and the end of the season. The “Hodgson Effect” has had a big impact on his Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points output, too; he averaged a respectable 4.6 points per game (ppg) under Di Matteo, but has soared to 6.4ppg since Roy’s arrival.

While Charlie Adam has been hailed as the Fantasy bargain of the season, a look at Value (Season) in FPL shows Odemwingie has matched the Blackpool man, with both top on 28. Adam is owned by 35.4% of FPL teams but Odemwingie stars in just 12.1%, despite a ridiculously low price of 5.4.

As many Fantasy Managers look to get rid of double gameweek 34 players and with the likes of Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal all facing some tricky upcoming fixtures, a transfer-in for Odemwingie almost seems like a no-brainer; 4 goals, 4 assists and 8 Bonus Points in his last 5 games (a run including clashes with Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea) marks him as the in-form forward in the Premier League right now and a budget-friendly bargain at that.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Has there ever been a worse captain choice than Zamora? To make matters worse, my rival captained Dempsey and now he has a pretty much unassailable 70+ point lead at the top of our mini league.

Is there ANYTHING that i can be doing to make up the difference, other than sabotaging his team? I have a couple of ideas of my own, but don't want to say them as I am pretty sure he is on here.

I captained Paul Konchesky once. In the first game Fulham lost the cleanie in injury time. In the second game they lost it very close to the 90mins and that goal was the Kon man's fault. But it was OK because he got 3 bonus. Then on Monday they took away the bonus.

Doesnt mean there is any truth what so ever to it. Jose lose the plot with his comments last night.

Sure its been clear for years with Uefa and Unicef controlling football games....

Or maybe refs are incompetent and Barca win most games cos they keep the ball ,get fouled more, are able to milk it and are simply better.

DB, logically, everyone waxes lyrical about those barca k.unts yeah? So, by extension, FIFA want them to win everything.

WHY? Well, Fifa have proven theyre corrupt, and money driven to the extreme ( idont need to give examples, but let WC 2020 suffice).

Therefore, they will do whatever they can to get their perceived PRIME PRODUCT in the public eye as much as possible.

And all the inter sendings off cant help but point in that direction too.

Like United, Barca get loads more dodgy decisions in their favour than against, but there's no conspiracy.

I don't even think the Pepe red card was that scandalous.

I don't think it was a red card offence, but it wasn't a particularly nice tackle. I can understand why the ref sent him off.

And wasn't Adebarndoor a lucky boy not to be sent off just a few minutes later? that was a red-card offence.

+1. At first showing I thought it was a red card. Having seen the replay, it should've been a yellow but the ref doesn't get the pleasure of a second viewing. So that was perfectly understandable in my opinion. And the Ade one, that should've been a red.

If you set your team up to purely stop the other team playing, and be physical about it, there's going to be lots of fouls given away by your team, especially with the theatrics on show last night (and both teams are just as guilty on that). Jose can whinge all he wants, but I have no sympathy whatsoever.

Thats my point. He has changed.

There is no point. His arogant narcasstic tendancies have gone throught the roof to the point that if he ever dares to lose there is a conspiracy

he said that little clubs in spain are not tryin against barcelona

He said Pep was attacking refs (he never even made the quote jose said)

He knows says uefa, and unicef are controlling to make sure Barcelona win football games.

Jose may be smart , but he has completely lost the plot

Really? my opinion of him has always been fairly static.

He's a great short-term manager who loves to get his face on TV (and subsequently his players' faces off it), and doesn't mind being a panto-villain.

You cannot be forthright and full of opinions (which I would say you are, however wrong-headed I think many of them are) at the same time as being impartial. It's not possible.

No-one is impartial, anyway. Every opinion is informed by our experiences of life, our understanding of the world.

Well, he’s kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog.

Actually, replace “accidentally” with “repeatedly.” And replace “dog” with “son.”

Guys, I keep playing around with my team .. can I have your thoughts please? £0.4m cash.

    Foster (Bergovic)
    Luiz, Johnson, Kolorov (Huth, Djorou)
Silva (c), Adam, Lamps, Dempsey, VDV
    Rooney, RVP (Zamora)

    Options:
    1) yaya for Dempsey
    2) Malouda for Lamps & Kuyt for Dempsey - 4 point hit
    3) yaya for Dempsey & Odem for Zamora - 4 point hit

quite liking 2) though doesnt give me 3 city players vs westham and is the 4 point hit worth it .. ie opportunity cost of dempsey and lamps etc.

    Any thoughts welcome ..

      Dempsey & Zamora -> Silva & Odem?

      If not, C looks alright.

appreciate the sentiment...but he's been on my radar for the west ham and double for some time.

Wish I was a sheep at times...would have meant I'd have got Dempsey in for a hit like half the people here, instead of sticking to my no hits guns and ignoring him.

Young has the easier fixture this and next week. Downside: he's inconsistent. I'd ditch Nani. I might get rid of both if that helps for Kuyt and Yaya

Well I wasn't overly happy with the dgw result, another Zamora(C) over here with sturridge etc. No idea who to move around though as there's nowt standing out as big potential points.

    Team is -

    Foster (Cech)
    Djourou, Huth, Vidic, Simpson, Luiz
    Nani, Meireles, Lamps, Walters, Walcott
    Zamora, Van Persie, Sturridge

Tempted to do one or two of these -

    a) Walcott > Yaya
    b) Djourou > Flanagan
    c) Nani > Kuyt
    d) Sturridge/Zamora > Odemwingie

What options strike you as most profitable?
