Just four gameweeks to go now and the race is really heating up at the top of the Fantasy Football Scout league. Our top five rundown sees two new entries, with Chris Prentice and Sean og Connolly dropping out this week. With two of our top five inside the overall Fantasy Premier League (FPL) top ten, and the lowest-ranked in 18th place overall, it’s clearly no easy task to maintain this pace. Here’s the update on this week’s action:

Chris McGurn

Morons FC

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #1 Overall FPL Ranking #2

Last Week’s Score 63pts
Chris opted for two double gameweek players, Asmir Begovic and Jamie O’Hara, giving the Wolves man the captain’s armband, a move which brought just 8 points. His Lampard, Terry, Luiz Chelsea trio combined for a 24 point haul at home to West Ham and ever-reliant Robin Van Persie grabbed 7 points at Bolton. Villa pair Ashley Young and Kyle Walker bagged 7 points between them.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Having made no transfers last week, Chris will have two free trades this week. With Man City players strong on many radars, a home tie with West Ham could be tempting, particularly ahead of next week’s double.

Big names here include Wayne Rooney and Nani squaring up to Van Persie’s Gunners, the above-mentioned Chelsea trio at home to Spurs, Leighton Baines at Wigan and Ashley Young travelling to West Brom.

Kevin Havelock

Beyond Havoc

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #2 Overall FPL Ranking #4

Last Week’s Score 69pts
Kevin breaks into our top five this week and, similar to Chris, also had a Chelsea trio to thank, as Luiz, Cole and Malouda brought home 26 points. He also tripled up on Spurs players, but Van der Vaart, Bale and Dawson harvested just 7 points in total. Only one double gameweek player -Robert Huth- graced the team, but having been handed the captain’s armband, the Stoke centre half brought home a haul of 20 points. Van Persie and Charlie Adam added to the haul.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Having drafted Huth in for Leighton Baines last week, Kevin has just one free transfer this time round. There are no Man United players in the squad, an interesting tactic ahead of the leaders upcoming (ars, CHE) games.

With Spurs travelling to Chelsea, there are six players in the squad for this one fixture alone, though the likes of Dawson will surely be benched. Van Persie and Nasri face Man United, Andy Carroll (if fit) squares up against old club Newcastle and Aleksander Kolarov has an appealing home game against West Ham.

Kenny Coffey

Castel di Sangro

Fantasy Football Ranking #3, Overall FPL Ranking #15

Last Week’s Score 98pts
Our second new entry, Kenny fielded just the two double gameweek players, but that’s all he needed; captain Clint Dempsey and Robert Huth brought home 46 points between them. Florent Malouda and David Luiz grabbed 17 points at home to West Ham, Edwin Van der Sar and Van Persie picked up 7 points each, and Darren Bent pitched in with 6 with a goal against Stoke.

Gameweek 35 Preview
With no transfers last week, Kevin has two trades to play with; will he field four starters at the Emirates? At present, Van der Sar, Nani and Wayne Rooney travel to Van Persie’s Arsenal, Dempsey travels to Sunderland, Malouda and Luiz square up to Spurs while Bent travels to West Brom.

Patrick Tyrrell

Scalachis Allstars

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #4, Overall FPL Ranking #16

Last Week’s Score 76Pts
Captain Clint Dempsey saved the week for Patrick, his 36 points returning almost half he team’s total. Frank Lampard bagged 11 points, Luiz and Van Persie both picked up 7, and Charlie Adam and Joey Barton grabbed 5 apiece.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Last week saw one transfer- Nani out for Dempsey, so there’s just the one free trade this week. Lampard and Luiz will take on Spurs at home, Leighton Baines travels to Wigan, while Peter Odemwingie and Yaya Toure have favourable home ties with Aston Villa and West Ham respectively.

Utkarsh Dalmia

Team Zophar

Fantasy Football Ranking #5, Overall FPL Ranking #18

Last Week’s Score 85pts
Utkarsh was another of our top five to captain Clint Dempsey and with Huth his other double gameweek player, gained a fantastic 46 points from the two. Doubling up on the Chelsea defence paid dividend, with Terry and Luiz picking up 13 points between them against West Ham. Van Persie grabbed 7 at Bolton, and both Charlie Adam and Wayne Hennessey chalked up 5 each.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Like Patrick, Dempsey-in was last week’s transfer, leaving Utkarsh with one free trade for gameweek 35. Rooney and Nani go head to head with Van Persie and Walcott, and the two Chelsea defenders are joined by Didier Drogba against Spurs. That’s seven players contesting two games. Will they all be risked? Elsewhere, Yaya Toure plays West Ham, Dempsey visits Sunderland and Charlie Adam hosts Huth‘s Stoke.

Can't afford it though by itself!!!

Drogba in a 4-4-2 with Torres or even played wide in a 4-3-3 really doesn't sound appealing and fancy him to be less interested if not made the main man. Plus Spurs will try and keep it tight and can defend well if they want to.

Reckon Odem home vs Villa will outscore him anyway.

I think Drogba-Odem is a lateral move with just the normal random upside, but gives you a huge cash balance. Walcott to Kuyt seems solid for one week, but you may not have enuf cash.

Your question on two moves-- well you definitely have a decent chance to break even or better, namely because Kuyt is in form and Odem should equal Drogba (who knows?).

The downside is you haven't increased your number of DGW players with these two moves.

Wow, you have a strong team. I would just position myself for the DGW and maybe not make a move this week. OR think about Walcott to Yaya. good luck.

        Thanks for the input mate.

That's the thing about the Drogs to Odem move, it gives me so much cash and reckon Odem is a better bet anyway being a nailed on 90 minuter who is scoring for fun and has 4 nice fixtures to go.

Feel like I need some Liverpool coverage this week and for the run-in the form theyre in so Kuyt or Suarez seem the best bets, just wish I knew which one.

Don't hugely fancy the DGW tbh can see the City Spurs game being a tight 1-0/1-1, while Everton away is never fun. Will probably get Silva and maybe Yaya too next week though.

Glad you like my team, just lacking some lpool currently but hopefully will recitfy that in the very near future.

I really hope Wigan go down to be honest, not sure I can cope with yet another year of them playing championship level football in the PL and survivng cos three other teams are just downright crap.

Lolerpool to survive on the last day vs a United team already crowned champions resting up for Wembley.

Kuyt scored vs City and Arsenal (although that one does cheat the stats a bit with it being a last minute penalty with him off the pitch...) in Caroll's only starts so I'd wager not really. Reckon Mereiles drops off rather than Kuyt.

Major letdown last week with no Dempsey, overhaul needed. Willing to take 4 point hit. but not sure which option:

    A. Nasri and Barton -> Kuyt and Toure
    B. Nasri and Barton -> Malouda and Toure (already have FFL)
    C. Nasri and Zamora -> Kuyt and Odem
    D. Nasri and Zamora -> Malouda and Odem
    E. Nasri and Zamora -> Silva and Odem
    F. Nasri and Zamora -> Silva and Suarez

who to transfer out this week - Dempsey or Walters (for Kuyt).

Chasing in a mini league where everyone has dempsey so im leaning towards keeping walters, but dont have much faith in him!

Sod it I'm going Kuyt, lower ownership, owned by team below me, better form, jammier, and most importantly much easier to like/harder to hate than that cheating Uruguayan scumbag. I don't like owning players I hate on a personal level unless totally necessary.

Not keen on him if playing in the same team as Torres, 4-4-2 or wide in 4-3-3 doesn't suit him he wants to be number 1. I doubt Chelsea will go mad this week Spurs will play containment. Odem will score as well/higher and frees up a lot of cash.

              Think it will go alright.

I'll go Hangeland benched because Arsenal don't score at home anymore and Vidic is overdue a goal wheras Hangeland is very unlikely to get 2 in a row. Plus Sunderland looked back to some sort of scoring.

Flawed logic in terms of Vidic being due and Hangeland not going to get two. But I'd play Vidic over Hangeland too. Mainly because I think he's more likely to get bonus and the cleanie.

        2,2,6,4,3,3,2,15,5

One good game against Arsenal bitter rivals is not really back on form. Chelsea will tear Spurs apart on their current form and VDV won't get a sniff. IMO I'd be playing Hangeland to be honest. Sunderland are without strikers and that game could well be 0-0.

Personally I had to get rid of Young to field Silva but it was a tough choice. I shipped out Young because of his last 2 games but think he will get at least 2 15 points in the next 2 weeks. I guess because of VDV's double gameweek next week he is at least likely to get some pointage and having 3 games in the next 2 week to Youngs 2 games means he should be played over Young.

Right ladies. I'm going with this lot this week.

          Foster

          Hangeland, Luiz, R Johnson

          Nani, Lampard, Silva (C), Adam

          RVP, Rooney, Odemathingy

          Bench: Bergovic, Walters, Walker, Huth

Have taken a 4 poit hit but I'm 4 points ahead of my main rival and he is certain to take a hit. What's more worrying is the 3rd place rival who's been closing in. Now only 30 points behind from being about 50 2 weeks ago.

Please let Roony get a hatrick and RVP get 4. All rivals have RVP but I support Arsenal. Let Silva ruin the 'ammers and send then down with a brace of goals and assists.

          COME ON!!!

Yeah. Kind of agree but then I think Hangeland will get the clean sheet (posted above to your team) and hoping Adam will score so not sure what to do. Can't see myself benching RVP or Rooney and certainly ain't benching any of the other midfielders. This really is crunch time in the season. I want to win this league so bad. Especially as I came rock bottom last year with a shocking season.

I'm confident with my midfield, with the exception of Nani. However, Nani's ownership, especially in my mini-league, is large compared to Silva..

Yeah sometimes it can be a tricky one to navigate. Usually get something for the whole game though. WIll have to dig out one I visited the other day. Saw a lovely game by it that was as good as the ones I used to visit when I didn't have to go by the river to see a good game.
