There’s just a little time before the Fantasy deadline, so if you’re still pondering transfers, captain selection or even the order of your substitutes bench, then the Saturday Surgery chatroom is the place to go for immediate views and opinions from your Fantasy Football peers.

There’s no early kick-off today, so the Dugout Discussion will pop up just before the 3pm games with all the accompanying team news.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

    Liverpool 1/2 tomorrow?

Are we talking about the same team that blew away Manchester United, Manchester City and Birmingham in their last 3 games at Anfield, scoring ELEVEN without reply?

Are they playing the same Newcastle who couldn't even beat Blackpool at Bloomfield Road and who were thrashed 4-0 by Stoke at the Brittania before that?

    2/9 surely?

Newcastle are so inconsistent, they don't ship that many goals, apart from Stoke recently as you point out.

Liverpool lost to West Ham while beating United 3-1 remember. But yeah Liverpool should walk it

forgetting fpl, and aside from obviously wanting a liverpool win, this is what i'd like to see this weekend:

arsenal win and chelsea win (to help liverpool get ahead of tottenham and to make the title interesting)

blackburn to lose (because it'll be funny seeing them in more trouble)

blackpool to win (to help them stay up)

News reflects how messed up things are and how much appetite general public have for meaningless nonsense.

In a day when there was major tornado killing 300 people in USA, Bombs in Morocco , civil unrest in Syria and Uganda leaving over 50 dead and The final flight of the Voyager space craft but the top 10 news stories read and reported included.
    - Video coverage of Beckham arriving at the Royal wedding
    - Discussion of the cake
    - Discussion of her Dress
    - Discussion regarding her courtesy to the Queen and what it symbolizes for the nation......

All reported more and read more.

Does anyone see anything wrong with this? Not to mention how outdated an elite monarchy is in 2011 in any country and what it did to be in power.

ps. Yes i did enjoy that Beckham is involved 😉

      Have to disagree Db.

In an age where the bad things you have run through are almost common place and reported daily it was nice to be able for not only this country to unite and just for one day focus on something positive.

Am in no way a monarchist but really enjoyed yesterday.

Give me a day away from unrest in one country or another just for one day.

People tend to accept whats given to them and not question it.

Why is the monarchy wedding more important? Its not when you look at it.

People dont look at it - thats why im as you say "the opposite"

No im not surprised it was covered but this is irrelevant. It doesnt make it right to continue in outdated traditions.

                    Yes its the same point.

The majority are interested in celebrity nonsense. A crowd who likes something even if they have millions in favor of it doesnt make it important.

People may want to know Lada Gagas breakfast...and many many do ...but it doesnt make it important

Well what I'd advise is go and get a job as a f****** news editor and then choose what story should be first.
If you put the tornados ahead of yesterdays wedding you would be out of a fuc*ing job before Wills got his end away with Kate last night and that my friend is a fact!

Yes i know in this news world that would be the case.

It still doesnt make it right. Millions want to know about Jordan ....does it make it important no?
Should they even cover it ? NO

But they do cos the line between news importance and celebrity nonsense has been mixed

news importance is whatever their target audience finds important. I couldn't care less about some royal wedding but most people do therefore it's important and newsworthy.

No - I liked it because it was a special event not seen for 30 years and the country for one day united.
Have you been to a wake? Do you sit there crying or celebrate that persons life and try to enjoy a few hours of happiness before you go back home and realise that person isn't there. For a 24 hour period people have focused on something important for this country whether you agree with it or not. It gave people the chance to switch off and enjoy a special day. The stories you mention will still be there today. What you expect people to do about these stories I don't know.
Tornados hitting America is tragic but I'm afraid isn't headline news here when an event this big is taking place.
Your point is that there are more important things happening in the world is true, of course there are, but the news focuses on what people are more than likely going to want to see. Yesterday, the Royal Wedding was that event.
I think no news company was going to put another story over this - no way.

Yes but will be again side roaded by some celebrity based nonsense again which has no meaningful impact on anything.

"but the news focuses on what people are more than likely going to want to see. "

This is essence my point and a contradiction of news coverage. News is based on impact and importance More people may want to know what Lada Gaga ate yesterday but it wont take precedent over Libya. At least it didnt before. What should be news is whether such a family such have such means and position in 2011.

i genuinely think it was a joyous and happy occasion and it was good to concentrate on something positive for once rather than be bogged down with all the problems with the world

How could they possible save the monarchy whatever that means by marrying each other?

The problem of an unelected aristocratic family living in a democratic time where they came to power in very different times through very outdated and savage means wont be all taken care of by "i do".

The idea that this could "strengthen this country in the future" is extremely naive.

i mean they have probably saved the integrity of the monarchy and how they are viewed after the last couple of decades of madness, although i am well aware that the monarchy has a history of madness, but the times they are a changing and they cannot get away with it now with the mass media reporting every little thing

and we the people will not put up with their ridiculous escapades and the royal family know this... it is good that there is a sensible, grounded, down to earth and happy couple that we can actually relate to leading the monarchy forwards

and although their power is limited (while you seem to be thinking that they are some kind of dictatorship ruling this country with an iron fist) they do good things for this country, with their charity work and flying the flag for britain, and are sown into the fabric of what it is to be british and are the envy of a lot of the world

they must be the most famous royal family by a mile and i hope we never lose them

"I think we should celebrate our traditions and after all isnt that a significant part of what makes England what it is?"

Many traditions are extremely flaud and dont deserve to be celebrated how every much they were in the dark ages.

What makes England great is many things. An unelected , outdated monarchy certainly isnt one. More people should follow Richard Feynans way of thinking.

1500 the norm was Monarchs and un questioned authority with no means for average folk to have an opinion

This day and age the world is very different. A family who came to power generations ago through violent means have no claim to anything in a democratic society. No matter how traditional it is.

If you haven't realised by now he starts these anti English topics on an EPL forum with mostly English members to draw attention to himself, and gives long labouring responses which make him feel like he is smarter than everyone else.

It's a personality disorder of some sorts, he's FFS's version of Jordan.

Hunter i posted it here and elsewhere.

The reason im interested here is I was wondering if as in many places people are as wrapped up in it without thinking.

Besides alot of the comments in many newspapers have been as mine. Just check any comment section.

I was merely wondering if everyone here was as wrapped up in the news coverage without question whether the event itself was relevant today.

Can never be too confident against Villa, we haven't beaten them since the 80s but with the form were in I'd be very disappointed if we lost.

Delighted, look a total different team, much more organised at the back more than anything. A clean sheet is coming very soon!

a jara goal today. i can smell it, people think he's been on the bench for 2 months, he hasn't, he's been back in chile down a mine, talking to himself, doing push ups and sit ups and visualising his goal where he dis-posseses ashley young with a 2 footed lunge, runs the length of the pitch, dummys the left back, cuts inside, does 3 step-overs and makes richard dunne fall over then lobs the on-rushing freidel. he then runs over and humps woy leg
