The Dugout Discussion opens up bright and early on this Bank Holiday Sunday as we look forward to a bumper feast of footballing action.

Birmingham play host to Wolves and Liverpool welcome Newcastle to Anfield first as the mid-day kick-offs see all those skippering Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez (yours truly included) hoping for a good start. Then it’s Arsenal’s turn to host Manchester United as Alex Ferguson looks to either get one hand firmly on the Premier League trophy or open up a crunch game with Chelsea next week. Finally, Manchester City play host to bottom of the table West Ham as all those backing David Silva with their captaincy are made to wait.

Full line-ups sourced from the official website on our two early kick-offs follow…

Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Jiranek, Ridgewell; Larsson, Ferguson, Bowyer, Gardner; Phillips, Jerome

Wolves XI: Hennessey; Mancienne, Stearman, Craddock, Elokobi; Foley, O’Hara, Henry, Jarvis; Fletcher, Ward.

Two changes for the home side see Barry Ferguson and Kevin Phillips bring their many years of experience back to the starting XI in place of Keith Fahey and Aleksander Hleb. A fit again George Elokobi comes straight back in to the side, while Kevin Foley also starts as Wolves also make two changes.

Liverpool XI: Reina; Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Johnson; Lucas, Spearing, Maxi, Meireles; Kuyt, Suarez

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Jose Enrique; Barton, Tiote, Nolan, Gutierrez; Ameobi, Lovenkrands

Andy Carroll has to make do with a place on the bench versus his old side, so hat-trick hero Maxi Rodriguez retains his place while Dirk Kuyt stays up front. Glen Johnson also returns from injury. Newcastle are unchanged.

Three games on the trot, televised, with little room for a break inbetween. Time to settle in, head into the Dugout Discussion if it takes your fancy, and look forward to six hours of consecutive Premier League action.

The leader in my mini league now has a 39 point lead over me, I've made some serious inroads into his total in recent weeks. Only need like 14 points more than him each gw to win the league. He got seriously lucky with a Zabaleta captaincy making up for what had been a terrible week for him. I'm seriously looking for any help or tips to try and catch this guy, I've put up with his bragging for too long. Which Spurs players are worth picking up for the dgw when I've already got Lescott, Yaya and Silva for Man City?

thanks, yeah I'm not sure Dawson is the answer, so I'll probably go Modric, as no one else has him. Worried about VDV potential though seeing as though the guy behind me is very close and has him. Sandro probably too big a risk despite his weekend showing. Thanks

Surely he'll get VDV in for Nani to cover you this week.
Your midfield identical to mine once I bring VDV in for Young.
In fact 10 players the same.

Maybe a little early but do you think it is worth a hit to do Huth > Dawson and Coleman > Kolarov? Would give me 5 doublers, it is make or make for me this week, I am quite well prepared where as my rival just has Kolarov atm. Cut the lead to 35 points this week, it would give me....

    Begovic
    Dawson, Kolarov, Walker
Lampard, Silva, Nani, Modric, VdV (c)
    Van Persie, Zamora

    Foster, Carroll, Luiz, Johnson.

I was thinking of doing Baines to Dawson...

With Arteta back and a few tough fixtures I cant see many returns coming from Baines..

That would still leave me with Coleman for Everton coverage

I'll bet a score on that.

Ash Young is so inconsistent in FF, I feel mugged off for getting him once again this season. Even with the 18 pointer. Mark claims I'm daft getting rid of him, but I just don't trust his returns at such a high price point.
