With three gameweeks left as we approach the climax of the 2010/11 season, our Fantasy Football Scout Top 5 sees no new entries, although third and fifth have swapped places, as Team Zophar moves up at the expense of Castel di Sangro. Chris McGurn, our overall leader, has climbed to the top of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) tree, sitting proudly at number one in the world, a single point ahead of the chasing pack.

Chris McGurn

Morons FC

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #1 Overall FPL Ranking #1

Last Week’s Score 54 pts
Two free transfers saw David Silva and Yaya Toure drafted into midfield, with Nani and Jamie O’Hara leaving the ranks. The Man City pair returned 9 points in the home game against West Ham, Leighton Baines contributed 11, captain Frank Lampard scored 16 to compensate for the Chelsea pair John Terry and David Luiz picking up just 3 points between them in their home match with Spurs. Robin Van Persie also helped Chris’ score along, with his assist in the Gunners win over Man United, earning the Dutchman 5 points.

Gameweek 36 Preview
Last week’s two trades gives Chris a couple of players for the final gameweek of the season, with Silva and Toure travelling to Baines’ Everton before facing Spurs at home. Will he grab some Tottenham cover for the home match with Blackpool though? Elsewhere, his Chelsea trio travel to Old Trafford to face Wayne Rooney’s Man United, Van Persie goes to Stoke and Ashley Young plays host to Wigan.

Kevin Havelock

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #2 Overall FPL Ranking #4

Last Week’s Score 50 pts
A 4-point hit saw Robert Huth and Nani out for Dirk Kuyt and Joleon Lescott, with the Liverpool man grabbing the captain’s armband for a 26 point return. Doubling up on both the Chelsea and Man City defences failed to pay off, with 8 points returned from four defenders. Rafael Van der Vaart joined Van Persie in picking up 5 points, but Andy Carroll missed out on the goal action, coming off the Liverpool bench to earn a single point.

Gameweek 36 Preview
Kevin has five double gameweek players already: Lescott, Kolarov, Bale, Dawson and Van der Vaart. With three defenders playing twice, he’ll be hoping for clean sheets aplenty, particularly in the Man City-Spurs game at Eastlands. Florent Malouda, David Luiz and Ashley Cole visit Man United, though possibly both defenders will be benched. Kuyt and Carroll are off to face Fulham, as Van Persie travels to Stoke.

Utkarsh Dalmia

Team Zophar

Fantasy Football Ranking #3, Overall FPL Ranking #13

Last Week’s Score 62pts
A four point hit saw Dirk Kuyt and David Silva replace Nani and Clint Dempsey and it paid off for Utkarsh; Kuyt grabbed the armband for 26 points and Silva bagged 7. Robert Huth picked up 6 points to make up for Terry and Luiz’s combined total of 3, while Didier Drogba managed 9 at home to Spurs, with Van Persie’s 5 adding to the mix.

Gameweek 36 Preview
Last week’s successful points hit seems to have inspired Utkarsh, as he made two trades early on this week. Silva and Toure are already in the bag for the double gameweek, surely some Spurs coverage has been transferred in? Drogba and Rooney square up at Old Trafford, though it’s debatable whether the Chelsea defenders see the starting XI. Huth and Van Persie go head to head at the Brittania, with Kuyt at the Cottage.

Patrick Tyrrell

Scalachis Allstars

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #4, Overall FPL Ranking #15

Last Week’s Score 54 Pts
Bacary Sagna made way for Aleksander Kolarov in the only trade of the gameweek. With half the team scoring 2 or less, some big points hauls saved the day; Leighton Baines’ 11, captain Lampard’s 16, Van Persie’s 5 and Peter Odemwinigie grabbed 6 in the home win over Aston Villa.

Gameweek 36 Preview
Yaya Toure and Kolarov are the two double gameweek players so far, though some Spurs coverage is surely to be expected from Patrick. With as many as 4 players lining up for the Newcastle-Birmingham match, it’ll be interesting to see how he plays it. Lampard and Luiz face Man United, Odemwingie goes to Wolves, Van Persie’s at Stoke, while Kevin Davies plays host to Sunderland, meaning all three forwards are away from home. A tough weekend ahead?

Kenny Coffey

Castel di Sangro

Fantasy Football Ranking #5, Overall FPL Ranking #20

Last Week’s Score 46pts
Out went Nani and Robert Huth as David Silva and Aleksander Kolarov came in for Kenny’s two free trades. Silva grabbed the armband and returned 14 points, though the next best scorer was Charles N’Zogbia with 6. Van Persie’s 5 was matched by Phil Jones but it was a disappointing gameweek otherwise, with Ben Foster’ 4 and Charlie Adam’s 3 the only other scores above 2 points.

Gameweek 36 Preview
Kenny is another without Spurs cover as of yet, with Silva and Kolarov his double gameweek players. He’ll need N’Zogbia to be fit for the trip to face Darren Bent and Kyle Walker’s Aston Villa. Wayne Rooney and Edwin Van der Sar will face off against Malouda and Luiz, with Van Persie at Stoke and Charlie Adam facing Spurs.

Trans Narva to win at 6/5, Estonian league. Playing against a team who are out of form, missing their two top strikers and are generally useless away from home.

    Kolarov Djourou Walker
    Kuyt VDV (C) Adam Barton
    Drogba RVP Bent

    Cech Dempsey RJ Luiz

    Nani --> VDV already done.

    Evening/Morning All,

Bit of a decision to make, would appeciate a bit of feedback. I'm trying to defend a 14 point lead at the top of my mini league. I currently have Yaya, rival has Silva and Kolarov. He's also already taken a 4 pt hit. So I'm left with a few choices:

    A) Dempsey > VDV
    B) Kuyt > VDV
    C) Dempsey, Kuyt > VDV, Silva
    D) Kuyt, Kelly > VDV & Kolarov
    E) Dempsey, Kuyt, Coleman > VDV, Silva, Kolarov

    The mind boggles... Cheers.

Man City have only got 4 points out of a possible 18 in their last 6 away games. Plus Everton have won 6 of the last 7 meeting between the two sides.

Silva doesn't look like an essential now.

well, I already have him so I'm not worried about it...that's for people to worry about that are spending points...Mancini saw vs LIV how poor they were without him, so I think hell play and come off early if possible

Need some advice guys, current team:

    Foster (Begovic)
    Walker Luiz Kolorov (Hughes) (Kelly)
    Lampard Kuyt VDV(c) Silva Adam
    RVP Odemwingie (Carroll)

I’ve already made one transfer this week to bring in VDV for Fabregas.

Does anyone think I should make another for a 4 point hit?

A rival I’m trying to fend of has taken a 4 point hit this week and has already got Yaya, Kolorov, VDV and doesnt have Adam.I reckon one of his hits involved bringing in Silva too.

No mate, he's on fire in terms of BPs, and might retain penalties.

Keep Charlie Adam in midfield or go with 3 up front and put Carroll in?

I think Adam. Liverpool away form isn't great and Carroll will be lucky to get 90mins
