Double gameweek 36 comes to an end tonight, with a potentially decisive game in the chase for that all-important fourth spot. Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur knowing that a win will see them qualify for the Champion’s League for the first time. For Spurs only a win will do if they hope to mount a realistic challenge in the closing league fixtures.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and the team news is in…

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Milner, De Jong, Toure Yaya, Adam Johnson, Silva, Dzeko

Spurs XI: Cudicini, Corluka, Dawson, Gallas, Rose, Lennon, Palacios, Sandro, Modric, Van der Vaart, Crouch

The home side drop Fantasy favourite Aleksandar Kolarov, who takes his place on the bench alongside Mario Balotelli and the returning Carlos Tevez. Filling that left-back slot is Pablo Zabaleta, meaning that there’s a place in the side for Micah Richards.

There’s also changes aplenty for the visitors, as recently calamitous ‘keeper Heurelho Gomes is left out, with a “back injury” being cited as the reason. Charlie Adam is the reason Gareth Bale misses out, opening a space for Wilson Palacios in a formation-altered Spurs side, which promotes the hugely popular Rafael van der Vaart up behind Peter Crouch.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

I said on last post, when thinking about getting in either maxi or suarez for final games.

"No way maxi can be dropped now"

Kompany will be a popular pick next season when he's reclassified as a defender. Are those seriously the bps? That's a joke.

Özil with another assist. Just read only Messi has more assists than him in La Liga now. Smashing debut season.

Great goal the first one - trivela cross and a supern header.

Because, as much as the allocations are baffling and nonsensical sometimes, 'they' aren't 'screwed up' ...

They are subjective points added to reflect contribution and are meant to add an element to the FPL game - awarding points to players who normally wouldn't score goals/assists/CSs and therefore would never get selected otherwise.

Get over it, you've lost nothing by not getting BPs.

It's like complaining that the pitch was wet and that's why you lost ...

Theres a difference between be moaning punts on players which come off and saying something was an obvious move.

Even more so considering you didnt even pick said players cos you wanted a differential.

Dirk Kuyt who you reckoned was too obvious a pick and not enough of a differential - Yes with his 3% ownership you just had to say "oh not a differential for me"

My rivals had him, I don't give a shit about the other few. Do they all pay me if I beat them? Why would I want a differential over randomers? And even if I did,, I still wouldn't have gone Kuyt considering a lot of the people above me are in that 3%.

Agreed-I swapped out Kuyt for VDV as he did seem the obvious Captain choice-Blackpool played better than expected and to be fair Tottenham lacked a cutting edge. At the time there was a possibility Kuyt would go back to the wing-such is life!

On the phone so can't be bothered to check, but aren't L'pool playing spurs this weekend? I really don't see the need to bring in Suarez/Kuyt for that. Although I have been saying that for weeks on end, and its hurt big time.

Protecting a 14 point lead going into last 2 weeks...
Rival has got Adam and Suarez vs. My Dempsey and Carroll.
Should I get Adam in this week and hope Carroll plays? Or maybe take a 4 point hit to get suarez as well?
Or maybe even go for Nzogbia instead?

I would not cover both but am not sure which I would do. I have a not too dissimilar situation

My rival has Adam and Hitz but I am not going to bother hedging Hitz. Instead, I am going to bring in Adam and Nzogbia.

I have a bigger lead though but in your case it really depends how many other differentials you have and how they match up.

If you could spend no more than 5.5m on each player, you'd have faired out pretty well this year.

    Foster (4.5) Robinson (4.5)
    Huth (5) Hangeland (5.5) RJ (5) Coleman (4.5) Skrtl (5.5)
    Adam (5) Barton (4.5) Yaya (5.5) Nolan (5.5) Jarvis (5.5)
    Odemwingie (5) Elmander (5.5) Carroll (5)

Some of the big boys really have underperformed though

Fabregas has been a huge let down, and Drogba.

Lampard has done alright points wise seeing as he was out for the first half of the season, Tevez was as consistent as ever and Van Persie has been brilliant since returning.

A mature response as ever. You could have merely said you didnt realise he did so well

                or

missing in action means he didnt perform to his normal standard - not as you thought he didnt play.

Yes im the retard having merely pointed out the obvious flaw in both of your remarks.

But do go on - 3 in a row now your on for. Another personal remark left?

He was the 3rd highest scoring player even with his illness and lack of performance time .

                    Ie

Imagine if he was fully fit. He did very well to finish 3rd.
His normal standards being what - 2nd last year and 3rd this year. Not a big drop considering his longtime of illness.

"Doing well" & "worth the big pricetag" assume, IMO, both aggregate scores and the *predictability* of them, thus allowing for (C) bonuses/doubling and the staggering scores that make us feel so adroit and knowledgeable.

Drogs illness - yes, he had a letdown in scoring too, early on - and Chelskis kamikaze dive near Xmas made Drogs a non-starter at his price point.

And: you know all this, you just don't like the way the other fellas are saying it. I agree you shouldn't be called 'retard' - but unclench your pedantic posterior for just a bit 🙂

If he was guaranteed a full season without injury, I would pay 20m for RVP, although Torres was better when he was injured all the time.

Drogba still top points scorer for striker, despite average season.

He's just about the most brainless footballer I've ever had the misfortune of watching. He loses the ball the whole time, gets in the way of moves, commits stupid fouls in dangerous positions. Did you watch the game on Sunday? He was absolutely hopeless, I just pray that it was the last time we've ever seen him in a Chelsea shirt.

Ha to be honest i don't really watch him play properly, i've just noticed he scores a lot of goals. Ah brainless footballers, we've had our fair share, Eboue and Adebayor to name a few... And i still maintain that as good as Alex Song is, he still doesn't have a clue what he's doing half the time.

You are right though, he's been a decent servant for Chelsea. Much like Park, he's been content for a bench role for god knows how many years now without complaining (until recently), and has scored his fair share of important goals.

He really isn't very good at football though! I'm amazed that the club has persisted with him for so long - him being big friends with Drogba has probably been a major reason for that. He has barely improved at all since the day he signed.

Will Nasri be fit this week?

If not I might transfer him out for Arshavin..

This is silly. All Real are doing is trying to get Ronaldo to score more goals.

Penalty to Real, hattrick coming up. 7 in 2 games it is then, not even Maxi can do that!

Why is it silly the league is already lost and a team mate has a real chance of being the top scorer so why non feed him goals........plus the team is winning comfortably

This is what im looking at . Decent potential I reckon.

VDV, Lennon, Balo, Rooney to N Zogbia, Walcott, Drogba , Tevez / Suarez.

Ju made a good point about City- Stoke and 3rd place up for grabs.

Stoke (should they lose in cup final), Villa and Newcastle I reckon are worth the gamble to target

        Yes.

Tevez or Drogba captain easily make double that back this week.

Walcott, N zog have decent potential

        I see United Blackburn as a low scoring 0 0 , 1 - 0 hernandez tap in affair.

Is it a bad idea to get Berbatov this week?
Scored 5 against Blackburn last time and I want him for the last game anyway
