The penultimate Podcast broadcast of the season is dedicated to one of its most controversial Fantasy figures and features a Mark vs Granville barney of reasonable proportions.

A long-term apologist for the Aleksandar Kolarov’s lack of attacking end product (there’s no excuse for his defending), I find myself under a tirade of predictable flack as Granville dares to use common sense against my rock solid statistical reasoning. The very idea.

Anyone who has personally been angered/abused/mildly upset by Kolarov this season should certainly listen in and blame me 100% for your pain. If that isn’t enough to tempt you then you can also eavesdrop on the usual array of regulars, and witness the mini-league banter as the gap between Granville and myself narrows to just nine points. Nine points. Just nine.

          He did well at the start but then sunderland have been awful since. Don't worry I had wingie and benched him during the purple patch. It's the joy of the game 🙂

          On the basis he's played ten games (entitling him to a medal), I think it'll probably be Evans (who hasn't this year, I don't think) and Vidic.

          But I'd start Smalling just in case, personally.

    aleksander. he is one of just 2 defenders in the league on set pieces. he also plays for one of the best defences 5 times out of 6. it's really not that hard to understand. torres is getting a mocking every week too, it wont stop him coming back next season and getting 20 odd goals. if kolaorv is still man city's left back next season there's no way he'll manage to dodge points so well again.
    the potential is obvious and it just hasn't happened. most of the people complaining have bought him this season at one point and there's a reason you did that

      I've bought him 2 or 3 times! I had him the week he got a CD and assist and BP, or maybe it was just a assist and BP, don't quite remember.

          I had him for long spells either side of his 2 game goal assist, Clean Sheet and 2 BP's. I'd dropped him just before. Makes you sick!

      No pointing being on set pieces if he is useless at the taking them though. I remember someone saying that most of his goals at Lazio were from the penalty spot.

      I just haven't been impressed with him at all tbh, his delivery is pants and he just shoots from anywhere rarely hitting the target.

        he wouldn't be taking set pieces if he wasn't good at them. especially with the likes of silva there too. i can think of at least one occassion where tevez has missed the ball when 2 yards out in form of goal from a kolarov cross. i'd love to know how many direct free kicks he's had from the right edge of the area, on the rare occasion he's had one there he's looked a massive threat just through sheer power as much as anything

      if man city have a good start my back 7 will have a similar setup to how i have now (2 teams trebled who rotate well) with kolarov as my defender to play every week

        doubt he'll be an option next season unfortunately. mancini talks highly of boateng so if boateng and richards are playing rb there will be the annoying threat of zabaleta playing lb.

      I think there's something in the fact that city have only scored two headers all season and that a lot of kolarov shots/crosses are appallingly inaccurate.
