Today’s afternoon programme concludes the Player Manager Scout League, a tournament set up over the final eight gameweeks of the season.

The league has been keenly contested and right now it’s being led by Mick Wall with an impressive four gameweek average score of 404 points. He’s nicely lined up for the £200 first prize, with the chasing pack tightly packed going into the final set of fixtures. Indeed, there are just six points separating the next four averages amongst the Scout league managers.

While newcomers have missed out on participating in the tournament, the guys at Player Manager have offered an incentive for all new players registering their interest today. Join up and play the final gameweek and you will be in the hat for a £100 prize for the top score – the pot will be shared in the event of a tie. You can of course, register as many teams as you like using the unique auction system, with team entries costing £1 a throw.

Check out our review of Player Manager here and, if you’re interested, sign up and pick your squad for today via this link.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Guys, I have a 35 pt mini league lead and rival has taken 4 pt hit already.

I want to do Odem to Berbs and Silva to N'Zog for a 4 pointer, giving me a front 8 of:
Adam, Lamps, N'Zog, Hitz, Kuyt, Suarez, RVP, Berbs

Problem is, I am £0.1m short.

Should I do an 8 pointer or gamble on Silva playing and do N'Zog for Kuyt instead to keep it at a 4 pt hit?

    My team -

    Foster (Robinson)
    Luiz, Huth, Kolorov (Coleman, Clark)
    Adam, Kuyt, N'Zogs, Malouda, VDV
    RVP, Drogs, Odem

I'm 6pts ahead but probably can't field a full team. Rival has made 1 change.

    Could do -
    A. Drogs>Berba/Tevez
    B. Malouda>Walcott and Odem>Berba
    C. VDV>O'Hara and Odem>Berba

Not sure about taking a hit, so any thoughts welcome.

I only have 0.8 in the bank so I can't bring in Tevez easily except for option A.

Can you not do Torres suggestion but bring in a midfield 4.0 bench warmer?

Depends on differentials between you and your rival. Selling Lamps for cash, and bringing a new forward between Berba and Tevez would seem to be the obvious move.

Does anything think I should do this...9 points lead on rival. He has done 1 transfer so far.

    So I am thinking
VDV, Rooney out for Walcott and Berbatov.

Walcott because rival has walcott, rest of our team is pretty much same

Should I do this or just do Rooney to Berbatov and be done with it?

Tough call. Personally would look to reduce the differentials and Walcott can be dangerous.

Which? Bringing tevez and berbatov in?

Another thing, I am pretty sure he would do 2 transfers if he sees I have done 2 😀

What is his defence like - i can only see 1 definite starter in your team at the moment although coleman may start?

Had thought a lot about my defense, but I dont see anyone getting a clean sheet. So taking a point hit to get a defender in...to most likely get 2 points would be foolish. So leaving defense as it is, since I will have to do 1 transfer to get a full mid/attack

I agree, no hits for defence. Was just considering what your real lead would be - if he had 3 guaranteed starters (playing 3 at back), assuming no clean sheets and you made 2 changes and he made 1, lead would be 1pt so decision would simply be would your mid/att outscore his as your lead doesn't cover anything.
