Our end of season awards polls come to an end with the voting in the forwards category. The poll is now live on the frontpage and visitors can now cast two votes for the strikers who had the biggest influence on our Fantasy seasons.

Voting will close on this in a couple of days with our team of the season review articles following very soon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    The season review:

I was just outside 17k for the season, beating my previous best by a few hundred places. So I done ok in the end, poor captain choices letting me down though.

I will be aiming for a 10k finish next season.

Won my mates mini-league though, so bragging rights are mine again for another year, which is what it's all about.

Mrs Snid however came in the 2,100's - a blinder of a season really considering the last time she played it she finished 500,000th....

Luck had a fair amount to do with it - had K Davies in for his 16 pointer, Wellbeck when he hit form, Drogba and Malouda when they both got 22 each (44 with Drogs captained) when she played her 2nd Wildcard along with Jones from Stoke. Worst thing I ever did was tell her to get Bardsley in.....

So all in all, a very pleasing, if not frustrating FPL season.

Oh I know that, but to get the players in when she did that got the scores they did had that luck element in it - don't care what anyone says!

She did good - no doubts about it.

Was hoping to beat last seasons rank of 7500. My problem this season was that I held on to drogba too long when he hit his bad form and I should have got rid. Ah well!! Also missed out on nasri's hail before Xmas opting for arshavin instead. However I picked berba as captain for gw24? when he got the monster score. Ended up with 148 points that gw which was a record for me so a mixed season. Roll on next season. Aiming for a top 10 k finish.

Brad Friedel will re-join Liverpool after rejecting offers from West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa to remain in the Midlands.

The veteran keeper has agreed a two-year deal with Kenny Dalglish to be Pepe Reina's understudy.

What a waste of a good 'keeper.

"Villa offered Friedel, 40, a deal on less money but with a greater bonus for appearances."

That will be the few appearances he gets in the Carling Cup then...

I suspect the reason he's leaving Villa has more to do with events there over the last year ...

I scored 189 points less this season than I did last, yet I finished 3,000 places higher and in the top 1,000 to boot! Strange season. I should have done a lot better but kept making poor captaincy choices. I think I only captained my highest scoring player about five times.

Tbh Demi, people who do well at the game, finishin first overall, first in their country etc, end up on radio stations givin advice after their successful season, but there are many posters on this site who've consistently finished in the top 3k over several campaigns. They are the real successes to me & I'd listen to their advice/opinions before anyone else.

My two major disappointments this season are:

    1) Not breaking the magical 100-point barrier!
    2) After reaching rank 252, following it up with 7 red arrows in 8 gameweeks.

    Positives:

    1) Wildcard number 1 played well
    2) Made some good decisions during all the postponed games!
    3) Not to mention highest ever ranking and mini league in the bag!

Hmm, be interesting to see what happens with Villa and keepers... guess they might go for Ben Foster!

As for Reina, he's said many, many times that he doesn't want to leave and I can't see him doing so. Which must mean that Friedel is just going there for a pay-check, which seems immensely shirt sited on Dalglish's part.

I believe that it was already agreed that if Birmingham went down Villa would buy Foster.

That would make sense and explain why they no longer need Freidl.

Would make Foster a more expensive keeper next season though.

I think I'll probably be looking elsewhere for my keeper next season as Foster will probably start near the £6m mark.

Why wouldn't his price shoot up?

If he joined Villa he'd be potentially in a top 6 team.

If he can come 3rd overall in a side that got relegated then his value has to go up considerably if he joins a much better team.

I reckon Paddy Kenny will be one of my keepers next season.QPR had the best defensive record in all four divisions last season and he's a shot stopper.

Think Kenny might be one of the gems next season.

Not surprised if he comes at 6.0 mil. But I hope to see him at 5.5 mil at the same starting price of Gomes and Howard in this season. It'd be easy to fit him in the starting team.

You prob right hey, only realised after looking that Reina/Cech all started off at 6.5 mill with Friedel and Hart at 6 mill. So Foster should be 6 mill as well.He won't make my team though.

Thks for info on Kenny. As a Saffer i know very little about the new teams.

I know it's early days, but you going for a cheap defence net year or a mix? Baines did well this year and Vidic/Lescott they years prior to that.

There always seems to be a defender that scores 170+ a season. Who next?

I think that my defence will be built around Baines as my one expensive def and stick 4 cheap to mid price options around him.

Lescott is still subject to rotation especially once Kolo Toure returns. Plus City are going to rotate more for the Champions League.

City players generally will probably be the most risky ones to have next season.

Baines will have none of those issues, plus he'll be on pens again too.

my 2nd season in fpl, great overall season achievement so far with 5k+ position way way better than previous season of 595k+ lol only downfall i would said for last 3GW with poor captain selection (8-4-2) pts and players on bench especially hangeland 🙁

so in next season have to play smart on wild card hehe to minimize taking pts hit .....

    cheers.

I ended up finishing 19th in the FFS league for May, which I was well pleased with.

So has anyone emailed fpl towers regarding possible changes next year?

I just came accross an email I sent last year re emergency capt rule...obviously my email was dumped in a bin!

If the 2nd WC falls away i wonder how strategies will change. Will people hold it back or still play it early to maximize price increases during international breaks and jumping on bandwagons.

wathc out as players coming from the championship are very unpredictable

the start of this season was all about adam and dorrans, while caroll was a distant third, so look what happened with dorrans.

also remember the fuzz couple of years ago about ebanks blake when wolves were promoted.

wouldnt advise you more than 1 promoted player to start with, while keeping an eye on the others.

They've ended the season quite well, so that's probably clouding a few of our minds. But they're pretty good at home, so I just think if they rotate with another team who are pretty defensively solid too it'll be quite a good defensive set up.

I started of with cheap strikers this season and it backfired. Won't go near any cheap strikers from promoted sides until they perform, like Carrol dit this year.

I will rather pay more for someone like Odemwingy.

RVP/Valencia/Baines/Taarabt/Kelly(if fit) and maybe Ohara(if he stays with Wolves) will be first on my teamsheet.

Berbatov confirming he'll stay at United - that's great news for them. Willingness to sit on the bench even when you're a good player is a great great thing for the team, one that I often overlook. Hernandez will inevitably have form slumps at his age too (and in his tough second season where he will be much more targeted).

He has qualities that few other players in top football have. The point about that he only won it because he's at United is valid but it's also the case with almost every top scorer. It's bloody hard to win it at a lesser team. He's proven himself at Tottenham and Leverkusen too already. I think he'd easily be picked up if he or United wanted him to go.

          ?!
"so much fail in one post"

Where exactly? The importance of quality players who are happy to sit on the bench? Berbatov certainly filled this role in the latter third of the season. Ji Sung Park is another perfect example. No 'fail' there so far.
As for the second part, it is inevitable that at some stage Hernandez will suffer a dip in form, every single player in the world does. What makes them a great player is how they drag themselves out of the slump. No 'fail' there either.
Oh and of course opposition defences will be targeting him after his brilliant first season. So no 'fail' there either.

All in all absolutely no fail in Gargamel's post, but a little bit in yours. 😛

So the 3 man defence rules this year. Somewhat tempted by the Baines + decent cheapies next year. One advantage is that you have one fixed defender for the season and can rotate 2/4 cheapies with the fixtures.

Still not sure the expensive defender is worth it though. At 4 ppg, I can think of better ways to splash the cash. 😉

If EVR have a good run of fixtures, he might be a decent investment particularly if you can make to the first w/c.

But see my point above about the cash. Most of us had wads of it and it paid to get a Dawson and Lescott in. Half the posts for the last month were from people stuck with generic FFS defenders who had been dropped.

The generic defences came about through the second w/c which spoilt the game somewhat.

Must admit, prior to the Citeh dgw, Lescott made the most appeal despite low attacking returns. You did very well out of him and trusted your gut instinct.

Dawson was a little more riskier given that Spuds were falling away near the end of the season.

I sort of agree, 1 big players in each position though is a must in my book, it makes transfers easier. But all the talk of who will depend on the fixture list. This season I started with Cole for 10 games, then switched to Vidic. It all went wrong for me with bad captain choices and a couple of errors in transfers

Looks awesome too. I like the Story on CoD games but I only ever play it once and then it's all multiplayer from there on out.

Heard good things about BF mulitplayer though

Hopefully the Modric one is more likely though!

Not sure he's needed at all at United. Nani and Valencia are class, and with Park stepping in now and again and Cleverley back from Wigan you're well covered there IMO.
You need a world class centre mid badly though.

I don't want Young, if we keep Valencia and Nani (which I see no reason not to happen).

Modric, centre mid, would be nice, partnered with Fletcher 😉

That would be a pisser for United fans, after Nani FINALLY looks like a player who can deliver instead of a diving nance he leaves. Where would he go? Inter or somewhere?
            £30m ish or more?

I can't see him wanting to go this season but I can see him going in the next few years if he keeps up this seasons standards, Ronaldo-esque.
