Yes folks, it’s the day (night) we’ve all been waiting for. It’s here. Finally.

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has opened its doors for season 2011/12.

After a few false starts last week, with the new look needing one or two final tweaks, everything is now in order and we can begin to pick our squads ahead of the big kick-off on the 13th of next month.

So waste no more time and head on over to the Premier League official site to begin picking your fifteen.

We’ll have a further round-up of some of the prices in a little while but in the meantime, put off your bedtime for just a while. FPL is back.

Oh, and in case you are all wondering: Aleksander Kolarov is priced at 6.5. Don’t all rush at once, now.

        Not sure. Tempted to go for Bobby Z early doors as Fool'em have got great fixtures on paper.

    What would be useful on the new site? Well i thought that when i moved the fixtures over to 'gameweek 2' at the bottom on the team page that my players fixtures for that week would also change on the pitch view graphic..... apparently not. Now that would have been useful

        I'd have paid the extra 0.5 over Hughes, but a whole million is a bit steep.

        Hopefully he gets injured at the start of the season and drops in price.

      Isn't there a reasonable chance of him playing OOP at LW? I think 6.0m could be good value when we look back when you consider Baines as a similar type of player.

      He's in my team at the moment, but thinking of doubling up with Citeh and going Clichy. We'll see.

        I like Everton's fixtures just as much after the first game and Beckford is also playing in the better team. I had Rodallega towards the end of last season and it wasn't pretty. I'd rather McCarthy as Wigan coverage if N'Zogbia leaves.

    Just to let everyone know - Swansea keeper Ma-Kalambay has not been given a new contract and so is no longer at the club- Jose Moreira will be added in the next few days and will probably start as their number 2 keeper. They are lining up Stockdale/Lee Camp as trasnfer targets for their number one.

      I say we ditch all the players we want until the 13th, give us the edge a little. We should all get Mujangi-Bia for example 😛

    I have to saw, the new site layout looks very, very poor, especially for a site that, even if they were mainly technical issues, took so long to get live.

    I mean jesus, as someone with a bit of an interest in graphic design, it's just crazy - whose idea was it to grey out all the team crests at the top of the screen, at least until you hover over them? They've sucked all of the colour out of it. Even all the bloody grey, everywhere, is really unappealing.

    Regarding prices; as was the case in every FPL season I've played before, I'm finding that I'm 1-3 million short of a team I'd be REALLY happy with. In other words, I don't think it's all that different from previous seasons. Allstar teams have NEVER been affordable - tinkering is required.

    As for the site's new look, I think it's fine. A little spartan perhaps (which I like), but functionality is nigh on identical to the old site. I am wondering about the currently missing "Latest points" page and how it will look though.
