Manchester City have this evening announced the signing of Sergio Aguero. After prolonged negotiations over the past twenty-four hours, both parties have finally reached agreement and the Argentine joins up at the Etihad Stadium on a five-year deal.

Having been linked with both Juventus and Real Madrid this close season, the forward has instead opted to join the Abu-Dhabi owned Premier League club and his arrival brings a true world-class talent to these shores ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Third top scorer in La Liga last season, only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo scored more in Spain’s top-flight and Aguero will surely bring plenty goals to Roberto Mancini’s front line as they battle for silverware on a number of fronts.

Quite what this means for the likes of Carlos Tevez is another matter, however, but Aguero’s addition to the Premier League is exciting news for City fans and Fantasy managers alike. A look at the Season Ticker sees Mancini’s side kick-off the 2011/12 campaign with a home game against Swansea and also host Wigan in gameweek 4. Not only will he be drafted in by plenty, there’s every chance Aguero will also be sporting many Fantasy armbands come 11.30am on Saturday 13th August as the big-spenders look to start the season in commanding form.

  Downgrade Samba maybe to someone like Bramble, use that money to afford someone better as a 5th midfield option. Ferguson for Newcastle is the only 4 option, and he is injured and wouldn't play anyway.

      True but if you are late getting those players in, you suffer more financially, but can still benefit from their form.
      
      Sometimes I have swapped a non playing sub for someone who I am not going to play, but is rising in value.

    The consensus will generally be play for points not pounds, but in many ways it's the same thing. Players won't go up in price unless they're scoring points, and if they're undervalued to start with you'll want them in your squad so you can invest more elsewhere.

Any one else feel downing will rack up massive points this year? feel he will play more advanced at liverpool meaning more goals and alot of assists?

The amount of posts over the last few days is making it hard to look back in any detail so sozz if this has been asked.
Whats the general view on Lampard, I've got him down as a must have due to Chelskis fixtures and that he's one of only a few certs on the team sheet.... but he does gobble up the budget, I look at how i can upgrade if I change him ....BUT....any thoughts?

  Definitely worth the extra cash over the likes of Malouda purely because definite starter and set piece threat...i've had to design my whole team around him though

    There may be value in the Chelsea team this year but we won't know until a few games in, Lamps is the only safe bet, I'm not sure Malouda will start. I've no basis for that other than AVB is hinting on youth.

  He is playing deeper in pre-season but says he will still get forward as much as possible so its possible that his output will suffer because of it. The best possible thing to happen would be for AVB to come out and tell us that Benayoun is a guaranteed starter but doubt that will happen!

  I don't really want him for the same reason, and if Benayoun was a certain starter he'd be in my team and the 5 million I had over would be very handy. But he's not, and Lamps will be on pens as usual...

  Great defence (as long as Ivanovic gets a game for Chelsea), but not too sure about the front line. I'd replace one of those defenders with someone cheaper and get a better striker beside Rooney (maybe Odemwingie?).

  In defence only Kompany would be what you would call a cert to start. Two cheapies up front is a bit of a risk and you are very short when it comes to captain picks.

Carroll might bring home the bacon and is fairly hot with assists. I reckon Albrighton, Sess and Vdv and RvP (if fit) are going to be points machines this year. Taarabt might be the Charlie Adam for this season.

Liverpool and Man United midfields are risky to predict starters and are expensive to be subs.

2 mil left but conscious that I have no Chelski players. Don't fancy Frank in holding role and Benny is a risky punt although having a seemingly blinding pre season tour. Might rejig to make space for Malouda. Aguero is tempting given City's opening fixture though...

What are the various opinions on having:
A – One keeper playing all fixtures with a bench warmer you never intend to play.
or
B – Two keepers that you rotate and play the home keeper each GW.

This is a strange one but what do people reckon about Ivan Klasnic. I just noticed in the last 2 seasons he has 12 goals and 2 assists in just over 1500 minutes of football. Now with Sturridge and Elmander gone he surely clears the path for a starting role. Obviously Boltons early fixtures are dire and alot depneds on whether Bolton buy a striker but I'll be keeping an eye on him.
