Our Player Projections available in the Members’ Area are being updated on a regular basis as the pre-season rolls on and events such as Barton’s fallout and the arrival of Sergio Aguero move the goalposts.

If you’re new to the site – these tables represent the Scout’s predicted returns for Premier League players in terms of goals, assists, clean sheets and several statistics relevant to the Fantasy Premier League game. They can be accessed in the Members Area right here.

There’s been a lot of tweaks over the past 48-hours so, to help our Members get a handle on the changes made, you can read on for a list of the recent activity. You can expect further tweaks to the Projections over the coming days and certainly following the weekend’s final bout of friendly matches.

Norwich City
Reduced Elliot Ward starts and projection increased Zak Whitebread accordingly.

Reduced Kasper Gorkss starts and projections. Revised the defence as a result.
Added Kieron Dyer to midfield.

Swansea City
Jose Moreira replaces Yves Ma Kalambay as the goalkeeper option. Added Wayne Routledge to midfield and reduced starts for Nathan Dyer and Stephen Dobbie accordingly.

Tottenham
Slight tweaks to the midfield and forward projections.

West Brom
Added Ben Foster to replace Boaz Myhill as goalkeeper – saves and Bonus increased.
Removed Gonzalo Jara’s starts with Steven Reid/Billy Jones sharing the right-back role.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

both :)Tbh I cant choose between the two:

Holt: Club talisman is going to get bonus points and score goals. He is no. one penality taker following Hoolahans 'stupid chip'.
Hoolahan: Attacking midfielder will get goals @5pts a go as opposed to Holts 4. He will get more assists than Holt. Will also get bonus points. He too will be lining up for set pieces.

I think Holt is a save option he will get a good haul of points for his price.
Hoolahan could go absolutle mental or be a massive waste of time.

Scrap Wilshere, not a big scorer
Etherington will be worth a look after his run of average fixtures
Duffs probably got the best fixtures early on so I might take him or Sess based on his preseason
I don't think Albrighton will live up to the predictions

And Personally taking Carroll for the first week or 2, much safer bet and allows you to get a better bearing on how the other 2 are going to perform

Sessegnon and Carroll. Pretty much guaranteed starters and Carroll is less than the others. It depends if you want Suarez as well though. Then I'd choose Aguero as not to put all of your eggs in one basket.

I personally think Carroll is going to be a huge waste of time. He is super slow, and tends to slow the team down. Of course he is a major problem for opposing teams on set pieces, but he will be a scouting report albatross...meaning he is easy to counter with even the most unathletic defender over 6'3", or certain alignment shifts. The only way he will be as dangerous is when a team is thoroughly devoted to chucking. Which Liverpool clearly aren't. One caveat, he could have a decent return if Liverpool mix the variety of passes and service. I'm still not in the believer camp that thinks Kenny will sit Suarez, he literally will have had more vacation and rest than Messi by the 13th.

Theplayer most likely to steal BP's from Murphy early is Duff. I would dial into Sessegnon for GW's 2 & 3.

Torres will score, I'm banking on him and Benayoun to be EXTREMELY aggressive in the final third and taking on defenders.

I'm not sure I agree with you, Manamongst. Having watched most of Newcastle's games last year, I think Carroll is faster than he looks and actually relatively good on the ball despite his gangly legs.

I get the feeling many people seem him merely as just a lanky target man a la Zigic but I saw very few defenders who kept him quiet before his injury (Scharner being a notable exception- Carroll was in his pocket).
With better quality deliveries coming from the Liverpool team (Downing, Gerrard, Adam etc) He will as much a threat as last season IMO.

However I didn't see him all that much at Liverpool given that he didn't have a lot of game-time in the final weeks. One thing's for sure though, Carroll vs The Arsenal defence is always good for a laugh.

Manamongst, how much do you know about Benayoun's chances of being a regular starter? I think he could be superb given the chance..

He is more that just a target man. His link up play is very good as is his movement and off the ball play. Shearer was never quick but he scored for fun based on the same type of attributes.

I think Carroll will score well, I am just not sure how consistant the points will come.

Hey I've been back and forth on this, but do people think Baines is worth it?

During last season, I always wish I had a big hitting defender, i.e. Cole, Baines etc..I never got them and I still did well, but do people think it worth to get one of them?

He did everything for Everton last year but the more I've thought about it, I think that's because Arteta was injured. Now he's fit I think the'll share set piece duties, this might make Baines less valuable. Everton are also renowned for starting the season poorly.

Upside - An excellent crosser of the ball. On penalties too if Arteta remains injured.

Downside - Opening fixtures aren't too clever. At his price it'd be mental if you didn't play every week.

If I have him, he's playing week in, week out, even if he's doubtful lol.

If I have him, he forces me to have all these risky players (Taarabt,Holt,Moses,Sinclair,Sess).

There is clearly a snowball effect going on, where everyone is getting very, very comfortable in the likes of the above players. I know they did well previously, but so did SEB etc.I guess no one learned from the Boselli situation as well.

    Any advice welcomed.

    Given (Ruddy)

Cole, Kompany, Rafael (Alcaraz, S Taylor)

VDV, Sinclair, Eagles, (Moses, K Dyer)

    Suarez, Van Persie, Bent

Rotating Moses in midfield and Alcaraz and Taylor into defense.

Any better advice on a 4.5 midfielder?

Think there’s too many risks in midfield or do you think it’s justified by the strikers?

Would it be better to downgrade one of the strikers for Zamora and strengthen midfield?

Johnson is obviously the better and more agressive attacking player but I'm not sure that will necesserly translate to points. If Cole has Didiers head to aim for he'll be getting a few assists.

    Have at it,

    Given, Ruddy
    Orr, Hughes, Baines, Bosingwa, Alcaraz
    VDV, Yaya, Nzog, Moses, Sinclair
    RVP, Holt, Carroll

Once I've decided whether or not Bosingwa will start I'll either keep him or downgrade Yaya to upgrade .5 across the board.
I feel like he might but I'll have to wait and see.

I don't like Yaya, I think he'll be deeper this year. I agree that Bowsinga is a gamble as I think Ivanovic will start. I'd go Suarez over Carroll and then leave yourself an extra .5

When you finally decide that he won't play, please don't get a sunderland or Newcastle defender. For 5.5 you could have Samba or Rafael..who's more nailed down than Jose And start very strong four in the back. Midfield looks tight. Upfront, is decent, not what I would roll with but capable of possible glory.

Anyone else just not feeling Chelsea and Man City strikers?

I mean, City have got Tevez, Balotelli, Aguero and Dzeko.

Chelsea have Drogba, Torres, Anelka and Sturridge (if he isn't loaned).

Seems to me that if you take any of those players your looking at rotation, hence weeks off and substitutions, at least if you took somebody like Bent you know he'll always play, or even Carroll.

    thoughts?

I agree, I'm finding it tough chosing my 'big forward' this year.

      Holt (cheap)
Beckford (gamble, good opening fixtures, could 'come of age'). TBH I'm leaning to Carrol or RVP

I would steer clear of Beckford and look at a Gueye, Beckford notoriously stays inbetween the doghouse and the pitch with Moyes. Gueye seems more dialed into being a bigtime professional and is physically much stronger than last season...I'm rating him at the number two improved physically, a close second to Danny Welbeck...who looks to have grown a bit.

I think Sessegnon's too good to be left on the bench. Is that just because they're playing Liverpool GW1?

Cahill may not get as many points as before because Everton will start with 2 up front this year. He was playing as a striker before. Then again not too many people are going for him so it could pay off for you.

    Al Habsi (Given)
Jose Enrique, Luiz, Kompany (Orr) (Simpson)
Yaya Toure, Malouda, N'Zogbia, Silva (VC) (Moses)

Downgrade Luiz to eliminate any and ALL Newcastle defense coverage (and no, don't even think about cutting corners and going with ANY Sunderland defenders). You are allowed to hold Enrique though...for obvious (I want the f**k out of Newcastle) reasons. You could probably downgrade Yaya to a Formica type midfielder to maybe get a Rodallega in their instead of a Holt. Remember you can always go down and slum it and scoop a newbie later. If you wanna hang on to Yaya, I would explore a Malouda to Benayoun switch. This is one of the better line-ups I've seen, especially if you can keep your goalies. I would even use the surplus to get Orr and Simpson out for two Wigan defenders or 1 Wigan and 1 Fulham defender. That would be dangerous...in a good way!

Dont listen to this, Simpson is one of the best 4m defender options you can get, and you need one or two cheaper defenders. Sunderland Defence is also a good option ^ dont know what hes on about, one of the best value for money defences last year was Sunderland, and Bramble at 4.5 is a good shout. Holt is a good option as well so i wouldnt be too eager to get him out, hes on pens and is a handful up front. Dont get a wigan defender there a no go, Orr is better value and i think A Hughes is the only Fulham defender worth the value.

I think he's a Mackam lol. I think Taylor is good value at 4.5 cos he'll start and he'll score from set pieces. I do think Newcastle will be leaky though to his defense.

I'd be carefuly with Newcastle team in general, I think they're 50/50 for self destruction this season. I'm willing to bet the "good team spirit" that was evident last season and the season before is dropping very quickly. I'm a Newcastle fan and I'm steering clear until it's obvious that the new (untested) players have settled and form isn't that bad.

So far though, Newcastle have been poor in pre-season (with the possible exception of goals from Taylor- although I'd consider the opposition quality there).

That said, I like the Sunderland defence this year and given how well they defended at the beginning of last season (before allll those injuries) I'd expect them to get a decent amount of cleanies.

Most people will have Al Habsi, Given, Enrique(if he goes) Luiz (if he plays), Kompany, Malouda, Nzog, Silva and Van Persie. The hard bit is getting the players to fill the gaps right!

Chelsea are such an unknown this year. They are, I think, a team in transition.
Lasmpard seems to be playing a deeper role and therefore worth less points.
I don't know if Molouda will hold his place with competition from Anelka/Torres/Benayon.
Its complicated further by a new manager with no one really sure what he is gonig to do.

Much the same with Arsenal (although they always seem to be in transition). However I do think RVP will be an constant, he hs to be. I'm not sure about how Arsenal will perform this year and I'm not sure he can do it all alone :/

Lol every single year people say the same thing about Lampard, playing deeper etc and every year he's brilliant in FF. Even last season when he was injured a lot and lost set pieces he still managed 10 goals by the end. Also with Drogba playing less this season Lampard will resume free kicks.

they've fit him with gear for his hand. I would keep him you'll get plenty of time to see him in action beforehand...no pun intended. The Jerome move does help you guys. Hopefully they won't find anyone that would strengthen a Dempsey combo, with the Dutchmen that Jol will obviously be stuffing the midfield with sooner or later that could mean lots of service for both of them.

    Given / Al Hasbi
    Kompany / Cole / Enrique / (Simpson) / (Orr)
    N’Zogbia / Maluoda / Taarabt / Moses / (Ferguson)
    Rooney / Aguero / Holt

Enrique is only worth getting if he does to Liverpool. If not Shawcross is a better option for that price.

You could probably get a better than Hoilett too if downgraded Schwarzer too because hes not worth it with given as well. Get someone like ruddy for second choice GK.

Advice on how to pick your team.

    Goalkeepers

    You will have Given

Your second keeper will be priced at £4.5 (Ideally it will be Kenny or Al-Habsi)
No – If more than £4.5 then your total goalkeeper spend is too much. If less than £4.5 then there is a good reason why they are priced less than £4.5 (will not play or guaranteed to let in goals!)

    Defenders

You will have Kompany and one more pricey defender, e.g Luiz, Cole, Baines,

Next select Enrique if he goes to Liverpool/le’arse
Next as you will almost certainly only be playing three defenders, fill the remaining spots with £4.0 players – go for attacking prospects – full backs e.g. De Laet and Simpson, therefore on the off-chance you have to play them you might get lucky with some attacking returns.

    Midfielders

Warning do not fill your midfield with too many untested in the premiership players. For example Taarabt, Sinclair, Moses, Dyer, Hoolahan. Only select a maximum of 1. If a few of them turn out to be gems you can transfer them in easily as they will not cost the earth. But it is not worth the risk to start with too many of them.

Do not pick Adam – he will not be on pens/corners/freekicks – how do you expect him to score any points?

Unless for some reason you only want to be able to select from 14 players, you will not have ferguson.

You will have N’Zogbia, apart from the fact he is fantasy football gold, a Villa midfielder always does well, it is the law – remember Young, Milner, Barry, N’Zog should fit the bill here.

    Forwards

You will already have Van Persie. If not? You must not be taking this game seriously enough.

You will have Sturridge if he goes on loan again to club like Bolton. If not you will have someone in the “Zamora” category of players.

You will probably have the little weasel Suarez (assuming he starts the season)

You will not have £12 million held up in Wayne “hoping he hits form” Rooney

You will not have £11 million held up in Fernando “I have not forgotten how to score” Torres – que the biggest goal drought you have ever seen by a striker

You will not select the over hyped/over talked up striker on the message boards. Boselli who?

Don't go jinxing Man U's D against West Brom now...

I will blame you if West Brom starts the season with a cleansheet against man U, they are at home right? But I must admit, that round-up was a bit of snark against cliche picks. I didn't like the big-up of "attacking defenders" on teams that probably won't get those wings in the attacking third let alone a decent cross in the box. De Laet and Simpson...in the off-chance you give your owners net -4 points in the first GW, don't say I didn't tell you so. You're better off forcing an auto-sub to mid-field dark-horses, playing three at the back. (and hope and pray that AVB isn't a last minute ejaculator and put Luiz, Bosingwa etc in)

I think Suarez will play. He's had a little bit of rest and don't forget before he came to Liverpool he had a couple of months out because of biting some1. He's rested enough and he's not the kind of player who will want to be sat there on the bench. I think that Ba is a better option than Holt. Rodallega is usually good value but doesn't anybody think that Wigan could be shocking this year?

Correction: Attractive style. They have presently not put eight pretty touches together...lol.

They will be an effective team, regardless I'm guessing two cleansheets in the first three games may buy .5 on each defender by GW4.

I like this team. I think that having 2 of the unproven players is fine so long as you have a good player as back up to come in, e.g. Ba.

Or have the versatility in the back to give them a few weeks...I'm talking 4 or 5 at the back. I plan on doing exactly that. I'll play a Figueroa and Alcaraz in the back a fulham, blackburn and Manchester defender in the back and choose two out of a bevy of hopefuls like:

          Taarabt/Sinclair, Cleverley/Anderson, Formica/Moses, Murphy/Duff, Benayoun
          ------
          With Three up front:

          RVP, Rooney, Suarez

Bent I believe is a good move with his fixtures.
I am not convinced about Sessengon yet (only had a couple of good games at end of last season) and Sunderland have improved vastly with their transfers so gives Bruce a lot more options.
Maybe someone like O'Hara, I fancy him to have an Adam-esque influence this year

I reckon Bent might go the whole way this year (pending injuries of course) to get the Golden boot. Only got sessegnon in there atm due to his predicted OOP. Spewing about Nzogbia as I always have him, but 3 villa players isnt going down to well with me

True the thought of three Villa players is worrying but could pay off in the short term.

If Defoe gets move to say Newcastle for example, expect him to return goals - very much like Bent did when he moved to a lesser team but was guaranteed to play.

Bent still looks a bit out of shape. Don'tlet the goal tally fooll you, his goals were damn near all lay-ups. He'll be out on an island the way Chelsea had him the other day.

Bent will get in all the right positions at the right time, it all depends on the delivery, he isnt really a player who can create something out of nothing with a moment of magic. I just don't trust mc cliesh and his play style ATM

May be Lucas if he's going to be a sub. LFC player of the season last year, LFC's main defensive midfielder ahead of spearing. He's not going to get a lot of goals and assists but he'll get games, probs clean sheets and may be some bonus.

I keep having doubts about fantasy favourites Taarabt and Sinclair.
    e.g.

    Taarabt or Duff?
    Sinclair or O'Hara?

In each case the latter is more proven at this level? What are people's thoughts on the pros/cons?

Moses has the slightly easier ame IMO as they are at home and at least used to the prem. Norwich are away and newly promoted.

(could be totally wrong though, blackpool destroyed wigan early on last year at the DW stadium)

    I've tinkered yet again lol.

This is only if enrique is at LFC

    Friedel (Ruddy)

Cole, Kompany, Enrique, Da Laet, S Taylor.

VDV Jarvis, Sinclair, Eagles, (K Dyer)

    Suarez, RVP, Chicharito

Obviously the little pea can be changed for Bent depending on his concussion.

I've chosen Eagles as something different as I think he'll score a lot of points from set pieces. Also nobody's going for Jarvis. He's cheap and very consistent.

    What do you think?

Mainly because he's done nothing pre-season despite QPR scoring plenty of goals (against crappy opposition) and I think QPR are really going to struggle this year through lack of investment and trouble behind the scenes with Warnock and the owners
