The second instalment in our series of Members articles looking at Fantasy consistency sees defenders come under the microscope. Aiming to highlight those players who week-in, week-out offer solid returns, we’ve taken a larger sample size than the previous Goalkeepers article and analysed the top twelve in terms of points per game in 2010/11.

Although there are four Chelsea players here -in addition to two from Man City – the Blues defenders most definitely vary in average returns and consistency. Who’d have thought, after all, that Ashley Cole was the least reliable Fantasy pick of our featured quartet last season?

    im going with Fixtures mainly, Rooney and Nani cuz they get results either way...

    i want to bring in Jose Enrique but not sure if he will start???
    i will also bring in suarez for carroll once i know he will start, he is going to be a gun this year!

          Have you seen tottenhams first 6 games? why would you want coverage?

          I'm a spurs fan and as your attorney i would say a massive mistake. Modrics head not really in it. Bale had a good start to last season but then got found out. VDV was the only decent purchase n hes a crip.

    Still not sure on all the rooney love. He looked impotent at the weekend and hasn't really done much in the prem in the last 16 months to justify a £12mill price tag.

        I think people are looking at price rather than using their heads. Rooney is playing deep. A handful of times i saw him coming in his own half to pick it off of back four. Yes a good player but NO not a fantasy point scorer. The only way he'll get a double is if man utd win a pen...In which case lampard represents better value

          He's just gone into mine too. Still starting with Silva myself though- captain material GW1 I reckon. Long-term I might end up downgrading him and getting Aguero upfront, but then again, in the long term we're all dead.

      No. As he is not nailed on to start, isnt on pens or freekicks. He could score, but no where near Adam in my opinion.

      No one knows about RB-Rafael/Samlling/Jones etc could all play RB
